Wonderful tour! My wife and I took the Findlay Market Sunday Brunch Tour! Jackie was an excellent guide who made it very interesting. She was able to share the history of Cincinnati and its relationship with the food and beverage industries industry. If you want a small taste of the many brunch food items available, this is the tour for you!! Highlights include, but not limited to...French Crust Bistro (croissant and creamy chicken & mushroom soup)...Taste of Belgium (waffles)...Eckerlin meats (goetta, egg & cheese sandwich). Pic of the net because I forgot to snap a pic of my own. Other places...Deans (samosas), Silverglades (chicken salad, no pic), BanaSun (smoothie), Gibbs Cheese (cheese and fudge), and Ugo (gelato).

I took the Cincy Brunch + Streetcar Tour on a Saturday morning. The guide, Adrienne, was extremely hospitable and knowledgeable. She shared pictures and historical tidbits as we walked through the Over the Rhine neighborhood to our various restaurant destinations. The tour included 6 food stops: Alcove - stuffed French toast, Che - short rib empanadas with chimichurri, Taglio - Bianco pizza, Eckerlin Meats - egg cheese and goetta sandwich, Gibbs Cheese in Findlay Market - white cheddar champagne cheese and creamsicle fudge, and Cherbourg Bakery - gluten free brownie. I highly recommend the tour for locals or visitors in Cincinnati. The amount of food and 3 hour length of tour make it a great value. It's a fantastic way to explore a neighborhood and taste foods you may not otherwise find.

Now I need to go back and explore more of Cincinnati. What a fun day with Beth guiding us around the city. Got to visit The Banks area, Over-The Rhine and the Theater areas. The restaurant choices were of different cuisines so we got to experience different flavors and atmospheres. The authentic Scottish pug was my favorite, but all were great places. Thanks Beth for the history tour and sharing your love for the city.

My family and I decided to... okay my family decided to humor ME in going on a food tour with me while we were on vacation and I am so glad they did!! We had a really great time with David and the others on the tour! David was super knowledgeable of the area and history of Cincinnati! Along with taking us to some really great food locations, we learned so much about the history of Cincinnati and even my son (who is SUPER hard to impress) had a great time! My 13 year old was a bit bored but enjoyed the food! We started at the Taste of Belgium, then on to Sky Line Chili, then Graeter's Ice Cream, and finished at Findlay's Market (see all my separate reviews for these). As we went David shared so much about the history of Cincinnati and it's food history including where the German's settled, how the area called "Over the Rhine" was named, and what happened post WWII. Over the rhine was definitely my favorite place in all of Cincinnati because so much of the original buildings have been maintained and restored! I appreciate how they have taken care to do this as so much of the US just destroys these lovely architectural works of art! One of the things I really appreciated about Europe was their preservation of things that were hundreds of years old! There was quite a bit of walking but we also rode the Connector (FREE public transportation) which speaks to how the city takes care of its people! If you want to know more about Cincinnati, over the rhine, and what happened post WWII; I highly recommend this tour! I also recommend David but I am positive you will have a great time no matter what! Oh and while David was not really able to do a ton about my gluten intolerance he DID find a way to accommodate our son who is vegetarian and that our whole family doesn't eat pork or seafood! This was so awesome! Usually we don't do these things because of our dietary needs but David went above and beyond!! Thank you Riverside Food Tours and thank you David for showing us a great time!

When looking to plan a holiday work outing, I didn't want to just do a typical lunch or happy hour. A quick search of interesting things to do in Cincinnati led me to the Riverside Food Tours site. Laura, the owner, was easy to work with and very flexible with helping with dietary restrictions and scheduling. On the day of the tour, David, our guide was very easy to find. He was friendly and knowledgeable. While the whole group has lived in Cincinnati for much of their lives, we all walked away having learned a new fact. The tour stops center around more seasoned Cincy food locations, but all of the offerings were really great. You get healthy portions at each location so you do not leave this tour hungry. We spanned a decent part of the city, but utilized the streetcar which helped. The owners really went above and beyond when the streetcar went out of service and they personally drove my group to our parking location. I highly recommend this tour and can't wait to try another one from their offering. This would make an excellent holiday gift, so check them out today!

Beyond the culinary delectables, we were treated to a fabulous historic review of the city. The map references were great reinforcement for the geographically challenged. Thanks for the introduction to Cincinnati!

Riverside food tour in Mainstrasse, Covington

Took the Covington tour with Riverside. It was so much fun! Mike, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable and helpful. He met us at the first of six different restaurants/bars in Mainstrasse and we started immediately. We began with chicken and waffles, moved on to espresso and a cookie, followed that up with cheese fries, continued on to beer and a pretzel, proceeded to pizza at a bar, and wrapped it all up with some whiskey and a cannoli. I was so full by the end that we ended up taking that dessert home with us. All of the stops were located on Main Street and the walks were easy. At each stop Mike explained the history and background of the restaurant or bar, and during the walks he would give us some history of Covington. After the tour was over Mike walked us over to the Mutter Gottes neighborhood where we were able to visit the Mother of God church. Like I said above, he was so very helpful. While not part of the tour, I highly recommend making the short walk over to the church, as it is incredibly beautiful inside. The tour was a Valentine's gift from my wife, and I have to say that it was a great date. I highly recommend the Riverside and look forward to trying another one of their tours in the future.

Looking for something simple to do, this tour was amazing! Come HUNGRY! The food options were so tasty. Our tour guide Beth was patient and an absolute delight in providing historic facts and little nuggets about the city. We had such a good time and left fat full for the day. You have to try this tour, it was nothing less than the "Go To" if you're ever in Cincinnati.

Oh my word. What an awesome experience! Ms. Beth is my spirit animal. And is the BEST tour guide. Straight shooter and so full of knowledge. We had a great mix of people on our tour. Great chance to get a small dose of Cincy history, and utilize the trolly system. All the food was amazing, my mom is quite a picky eater tried everything and had a blast. You end at Findlay Market which is a great place to explore. Worth every penny!

A+++ Outstanding tour with Jackie! WOW! Loved learning about and seeing the history, culture, and foods of Cincinnati. We had driven around the downtown area the night before our tour and were not impressed, but with Jackie's prepective and stories, we fell in LOVE with Cincy! We give Riverside Food Tours our highest recommendation! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Thank you Jackie & Laura, we'll be back!

Really nice food tour if you are visiting Cincinnati. The tour guide provided some diverse food spots and a great view of the history of Cincinnati and the OTR neighborhood. Highly recommend if you are looking for recommendations from locals

I took a tour with girlfriends for my bachelorette day. I'm a Cincinnati native and Beth (the tour guide) took me to places that I have never even tried before. She was fun, informative, and very punctual! My girlfriends and I loved the tour and learned a lot about our neighborhood, I highly recommend!

Our tour guide was Jackie and she has an obvious and clear pride in her city. Her knowledge of the history of the city added so much to the tour. I have visited Cincy many times but it is the first time seeing it through eyes that really love the diversity and culture. Our tour started at We Olive & Wine Bar - it is my first ever Olive Oil tasting - who knew that there was such flavor differences - the pairing of olive oils, cheese, meats, spreads, fresh baked bread and wine was perfect way to start the tour. Fair warning - you will not walk out of here without buying something. They also offer shipping so we didn't have to carry and drive this with us for the new few weeks. Metropole - this was stop 2 where we had their famous Burnt Carrot salad - infused, then grilled and served with feta - we added a 1/2 glass of wine and it topped it perfectly. Bakersfield - this is Mexican and they served a fish taco made to perfection - they are also known for their margaritas - they also have the skinny version, ummy. Taft's Ale House was next on the list - here we had a roast beef slider au jus - and an IPA. By this time you are really getting full, thank goodness we walk to the next place via the park and the music house Our last stop is Findlay Market where dessert is provided by Cherbourh Bakery, they are known for their gluten free desserts - lemon cake. From here you are on your own with tickets to ride the rest of the day on the street car/tram, you are 2 blocks from the Brewery district and after all that food and walking sitting down for a pale ale is just the ticket. If you every have a chance to do this trip ask for Jackie, she brings all her love for this place to life.

Our expectations were probably middle of the road going in; I'm honestly not sure how much research my chum did on this one (this was all her) but we were both a little apprehensive that this might be overrated and too touristy. But if you legitimately enjoy bourbon, are willing to drink it throughout an afternoon and want to have a few more talking points when the topic comes up - check, check and check - this was fantastic and worth the money. The tour packed a lot in during its roughly three hours. The specific reason we chose this one was because it included a visit to Angel's Envy, our favorite bourbon, but it also had stops at Bourbon Barrel Foods, Whiskey Thief and Chicken Cock. These were all within roughly five or 10 minutes of one another, pretty much on the eastern side of Downtown and around Butchertown. The weather was atrocious (raining pretty much the entire time) but we had a handy dandy trolley with us to save the day. I can't say enough about Angel's Envy and how impressive this distillery was. To me it was the unequivocal star of the show and we probably spent the most time here, at least in terms of really learning about bourbon and doing tour shizzle. It's just a gorgeous facility, and if you've ever driven through SE Kentucky wondering where all the money is, I found it. After the tour, we came back here for two hours and bought a lot of bourbon and swag to bring back home. We had the great fortune of getting Paula on our tour, who knows her bourbon and provided a ton of interesting insights about the creation of bourbon and just some general facts that we didn't know. I liked that the reason bourbon is basically just in KY has a lot to do with their soil/water, which ties in pretty closely with the trip we took the prior day to Mammoth Cave; like those passageways, everything is connected. Bourbon Barrel Foods was probably the weakest part of the tour if there was one, just because they didn't have a lot to bring to the table in terms of specific bourbon. It's pretty much just there as a stop to get a little food in you (not a bad thing AT ALL) while also offering you a $5 Old Fashioned, which we both took advantage of. Cute little bar/boutique store with a lot of bourbon-influenced bougie condiments and food stuffs for purchase, and the Old Fashioned was fine. We then went to pretty much just a wine store nearby (not sure about the name) where our guide Greta got a chance to shine with some more facts about bourbon, obviously drink some more and also gnaw on some artisanal cheese. By the time we got to Whiskey Thief, everyone was pretty rosy-cheeked and having a good time. This was strategically a really wily stop because you basically just hung out for half an hour drinking another cocktail (not sure but I don't think this was exactly an Old Fashioned, but more of a summer/fruity variation perhaps? Who knows. I'd had a few.), sampling some sauces/crackers and meeting Bourbon Tour Canine Chum Betty, who was a true professional and lover of the rump rub. An excellent addition to any distillery. But just an awesome stop, and we were starting to legit hang out with other people on the tour; I had a rousing 20-minute conversation with a fellow from Ohio who also had some real issues with how the Cincinnati Reds have been run over the last few decades. The Big Red Machine is sadly a distant memory. Anyway. The tour ended at Chicken Cock, which had a great vibe to go with its name. I was definitely pretty toasty by this point, as was my chum, and this is probably the best place to remind you that it's REALLY easy to get drunk on this tour. I was very proactive in seizing every food opportunity and keeping very hydrated, which for sure helped, but I also didn't really say no to any of the bourbon samples. So if that's a legitimate concern for you, just pick and choose your moments. One or two more might have been a problem, but the tour and its accompanying drinks were spread out enough not to do too much damage to me. Just know your limits, etc. Really great group too; I'm sure even if they'd been atrocious I would have liked them by Chicken Cock. This tour cost about $200 - your mileage may vary on the price, but we thought it was 100% worth it to get so much perspective on a spirit we've really grown to love over the past few years and of course to set foot in the Mother Ship aka Angel's Envy. And because it's pricier, you're not getting low-class lushes here - everyone was respectful and just cool people to spend time with. We had a bachelor party in our group from Scranton, PA, and they couldn't be nicer - and one of them worked at the arena where I saw Third Eye Blind in 2000! Wild times. Bourbon rocks. This tour rocks.

Sassy was unexpectedly wonderful. Rather than hitting the tongue with heat, the heat was more in the back of the mouth and throat and lingered. No too much, but not too little either. Delicious. The Habanero on the other hand, exploded with heat from the initial bite. This one didn't hold back, it was full-on HOT! Way too often things that advertise Habanero try to be delicate... this cheese was not delicate in any way. It was HAWT!! And I'm a huge fan!! My third block is Blueberry White Cheddar.
