They told me I was "over exaggerating". They wouldn't give me any meds and told me not to "over react" and sent me home. The next day I woke up with a 104.6 fever. I was delirious. I was beading sweat. I couldn't hold urine. I couldn't eat or drink and I could barely walk. I told my wife "I think I have a UTI I need the hospital now I feel like my body is dying". We get the hospital. They tell me I'm a "frequent flyer". I said I just need a urine test I think it's a UTI. The lady came in and said this is "typical withdrawal" and insisted I was coming off something. They asked to do a drug a test, I said of course. Next thing I know they are trying to force pain pills down my throat as I am having blood work done. I asked what the pills were- they said norco. I said if I'm having a drug test why would I take that? Then as there doing my blood, my body went into a seizure from how sick I was. I came back with a needle stuck In my arm sitting In the chair with the nurse watching me. From there they sent me to a room and left me in there. They did an IV 10 minutes later and then had my urine sample checked. I asked to change the Iv because it was Infiltrated. The nurse came in and yelled at me telling me "you have tattoos you can handle some pain". From there they discharged me 20 Minutes later with no results. Said "check the portal" threw the papers on the bed and left. We left and at 3am the results were loaded to the portal. At this point it's 730am. I have a 105.2 fever and I'm getting much worse. I can barely move. I call my primary. I started crying telling the receptionist what happened. She had me text her the screenshots. I got a phone call three mins later from my doctor. She said I had a life threatening uti. My body was shutting down. She said she was sending me meds and if my fever didn't break within 30-60 mins I needed to go to Christus. Thank god as soon as I got the meds my fever stated dropping. That was the worst experience I ever had and I will never step foot in that place again. They have no idea what patient care is. They treat everyone as if they are drug seeking.

Is there a zero? I mean seriously there should be options for nurses, doctors..etc rating! I got…read morekicked out the Hospital for making sure my mom got care she was paying for it made the little staff mad. After 7 days of being in ICU, I found a pill laying on my moms table and yet they said she was charted she took her meds, then what was that? did she get it or not? Next time I set my timer because I never saw her nurse the whole time I was there and once the time was going I walked in and out to see and everyone ignored the call button! I asked a lady for ice and to speak to the nurse and told her what what going on. My mom never got her dinner! The first nurse said that my moms nurse said she offered her a ensure? really when she has a meal? then when I confronted her 27 mins later when she came she said that was on the person before her and that she offered her an ensure but magically when the manager came she offered it and my mom said NO. They wanted to know if I wanted to warm it up to give to her because she was hungry. UM no you don't heat up food that has been out for 3 or 4hrs later hanging out on a nurses desk. We all know hospital food isn't good even hot but in ICU when it is suppose to be vital to be clean and no germs! The problem is her story was different so which was it? My mom said in front of them that she didn't offer no food to the nurse. So, I had my mom tell them to bring it in her room no matter what! I mean that is what they normally do anyways. Then, today I went in there and was videoing my mom bc I didn't know what was going on and she was hurting. The guy was being pissy and said are you videoing and I said absolutly, I wasn't rude or anything and all he had to say was you couldn't video or take pics but that is funny because I did all week took a few pics but no video. why not??? No ones face was in it! No information was in it! They had security escort me out even though I did NOT get crazy or anything just inquired about what was going on. These people did it just to get me out because they are getting called out and not doing their job. They kept poking her to find veins which I understand but why they couldn't give her oral pain meds until I got there and asked when was the last time. I explained to one nurse I was just trying to find out what was going on. But NO they were all in a little group like they did something cool. The care today has gone to crap! They just want to sit there on their phones and get paid.

This is the last place you want to send your child. After trying to kill himself by taking pills he…read morewas kept for 7 days medication changed and released. They only stabilize and release. They also supposedly have clothes if your child doesn't have any.I I could have brought my child some clothes but was assured that they had plenty of clothes there that were available for him. So believing them I didn't take him any clothes and when I picked him up his clothes reaped of seven day one close. All they do is sit around all day in a day room watching whatever program did children that are in charge want to watch. They do however get to go outside and play basketball sometimes while the employees are vaping or smoking cigarettes or visiting or whatever. Counseling is done in a group setting. They speak to your child alone maybe once or twice. Whatever psychiatrist is on duty does call you and ask you about changing the medication before they do it. And of course you answer thinking that they're counseling him and monitoring him finding out his history only to find out that no one is talking to him. I also seen from his lab work that they were checking his thyroid which I in my opinion don't think has anything to do with his mental health. He's been there twice. I didn't want him to go there the second time but they said that was the only bed available. In all the mental health care here in the state of Louisiana isn't the greatest. But by far Longleaf hospital by far is not where you want to have your child place to get the help they need. They don't even deserve a star but you have to give one in order to leave your review. If I had a choice I wouldn't have left any Star

One night the night staff decided they didn't want to check up with me every 5 mins like they…read moreneeded to since I was on a 72 hour watch for attempted suicide and they decided to cut my beeper off of my leg and keep it in their pocket so they don't have to get up and scan it. Also the hospital charged for a "vaccine" that I never got. Fights breaking out every night and the staff let it happen. Some staff even bullied another staff member who was having mental health issues of his own. Girls running around with each other having sex despite age barriers. And most girls there were there as a ward of the state and didn't suffer from mental issues so people who were trying to recover were being surrounded by drug addicts who ran the place. I didn't feel safe there or even taken care of. When I got there for "registration" it was the middle of the night and they left me alone in a bright room with no blankets or even a pillow all I had was the clothes on my back which were shorts and a shirt and some crocs. When I got into the hospital they didn't give me a pillow so what I had to do was take my blanket and put it in the pillowcase they gave me. The "doctors" there forced medications on the kids for insurance purposes and if you didn't want to take it they would give you a shot full of tranquilizers for "refusing our meds". If anything I came out worse than going in. The only shining light there was a man named Daniel who was on the staff. He was full of sunshine and actually cared. But everyone else was rude as if having to do their JOB was an inconvenience to them. One night a staff member brought in a can of Red Bull and just threw it in our trash and a girl found it busted it open and was giving the metal out so girls could self harm. I had a fresh piercing and one of the nurses put a comb tooth in it and it got really infected and I got really sick when I got out. Most girls fake "getting better" just so that they can leave because honestly faking it is better than speaking up because if you speak up you feel trapped and targeted by the staff. The staff refused to go through the stuff in my suitcase because they just didn't want to so I was stuck in the same clothes for a solid 3 days. Thank you for reading please consider this before even considering this hell hole.
