When I called to book my room I told them that I would be bringing my service dog with me and I was told "no pets". I tried, unsuccessfully, to explain to the person on the phone that a service animal is not a pet. After the person on the phone talked to a manager I was told that I would be charged a pet fee for bringing my service dog. I again, unsuccessfully, tried to explain that it was illegal for them to charge me any extra fees for having a service dog. Even after providing a copy of the BC Guide Dog and Service Dog Act I was charged an extra $56.00 pet fee. I will now be filing a complaint with the BC Human Rights commission. On top of all that I found the majority of the staff very rude. My advise, pay a little extra and find lodging in another hotel. If I could give this hotel less than one star I would.

We found Hospitality Inn online and the rates were super reasonable so we booked while about an hour away - they had no problems with our reservation and were totally prepared for our arrival. We stepped through the door and were immediately greeted by a sweet and bubbly lady who told us she'd upgraded our room to a king for no extra charge! Score! Our room was clean and comfortable, and we arrived in time to take advantage of their indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub. The hot tub seemed a little... well used, but it was great to soak in the night air. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep, plus it was only a short drive to Tofino from there and we were in the ocean by noon! Definitely somewhere I'd stay again.
