Riversmead are one of the worst Housing Associations i have had the displeasure of dealing with. I currently live in a flats where the majority of Tenants have pets (mainly cats 13 in total!!!!) I have complained and complained about the cat faeces and Urine that appears weekly withing the communal areas. After 6 months of complaining they felt justified by not only extending cleaning dates and adding the extra charges for the cleaning onto the rent but sending standard letters to all tenants asking them to clean up after the pets. This clearly has not worked as up to this morning I was cleaning cat pooh off my shoe!
I have recently been informed by a Housing Manager that one resident has been asked to re house their cat but what about the other 12 cat that reside? surely they must appreciate that by singling out ONE tenant will lead to issues between them and the tanants allowed to keep the cats!
The communal areas are in a terrible state! Urine and pooh stains all over the floors and skirting boards, pushchairs, abandoned bikes and house waste left outside doors or left in dis used corners. Its smells renk and too be honest off putting to any visitors. Dispite the fact that cat mess carries bacteria and general cleaning services do not to my knowledge have the facilities to clean such mess off concrete Riversmead find it hard to respond to complaints and therefore leave tenants to live in an environment not even fit for animals let alone humans. I have a toddler who up to know has never walked on communal pathways due to the contamination!!
If all these pets are allowed to live in first floor (and above) properties where are they poohing? answer; communal areas and the on he pavements and grass where our children play. WAKE UP RIVERSMEAD!! some of us appreciate our surrounding and for those who don't...........well, only they have the power to do something yet fail to inforce it! Small communities are suffering, what a shame! read more
