Today is July 3, 2024 and we've learned that the amendments were never filed. I called the office and was told I would receive a call back the next day, but of course I received no such call. It seems I will have to go there in person and either demand a refund or get someone to file the amendments in front of me. As a CPA myself, I am incredibly disappointed in the lack of professionalism and the breach of contract. I will be filing a complaint with the state board against Travis today.

I scheduled an appointment to complete my taxes because I had several questions. The agent I met…read morewith asked if I could drop off my paperwork instead of sitting down and doing them, and I told her I would rather sit down and go through them with her because I had questions I was hoping she could answer. She then told me she was double booked and didn't have time to finish our appointment. I got about 10 minutes of her time. I figured as long as the taxes got done it would be fine. I waited to get the call that they were done, but after a week it hadn't come. I've used H&R Block before and the agent was very communicative if they needed more information or had questions. After 10 days of no contact, messages, or emails, I decide to collect my paperwork and finish them elsewhere. Very disappointed with this experience.

VERY EXPENSIVE and MULTIPLE MISTAKES. My son had his taxes done - earns less than $20k a year…read moreworking in MA and lives in RI- and they charged him $250.00 I had a CPA do mine and she charged me $225.00. He originally started his return in Portsmouth RI but needed more info so went to Middletown as it was after the 15th when he had the info needed. The woman he worked with said his return had been done incorrectly in the Portsmouth H&R block. (original return quote was for $180.00 and he had a $20. coupon) and that she had to fix mistakes that the original H&R block person made! $250.00 later we have what we hope is a correct return and paid $90. more for it - they refused to honor the coupon. He went from getting a refund in RI to owing money to RI. Shame on H&R Block for taking advantage of low income person who is learning all the tax ins and outs for the first time. HE SURE LEARNED - NEVER GO TO H&R Block again to have your taxes done.
