Mom received intense therapy 5 days a week, for multiple times a day. This was the best therapy after a stroke. Even in the mist of this major pandemic, she continued to receive excellent care. We are proud to say, she graduated from rehab today. We can't thank the staff enough for making her stronger to leave the facility. The administration here is awesome! The director of nursing (don) addressed everyone of my concerns (And I had a lot) and always let us know how much she cared for us and our happiness. Jo is the mother of the place, she surrounds you with comfort and ensures your happiness. Robin welcomes us while we were in the hospital and continued to make sure we were happy. Jamie made sure I got my nanny cam hooked up so I could check in Mom every day (multiple times a day). The RN nurses take calls and answer questions. The CNAs are HARD WORKERS and should receive medals for all they do. Don't get me wrong, there are some better than others. But for the most part, they do there best. A couple of the CNAs formed a special relationship With Mom, especially Renee. The facility is clean, the maintenance guy (thanks Mike) fixed anything that went wrong, the kitchen handled mom's special diet and always made sure she had OJ. They handled all her Landry needs, showered three times a week) this place sure took care of my Mom and we will be forever thankful. If someone asks if I'd recommend this place, hands down I would definitely say YES. If you go, meet with administrator, get a nanny cam, and visit a lot (once things open back up). I feel like the linen maybe isn't changing every time it's needed. For instance- when I notice stains one day. And the next day I'm still looking at them. They change out his Debutamine drip every single day- even though it's still mostly full. That's a ton of wasted medication and money. The Nurses don't have a lot of answers and the doctors are a rare find. Most of the equipment is ancient. There is always a faint smell of urine. I wonder how committed the PT folks are in rehab. I've only seen them 1-2 x.

I got a true feeling of family when I toured the facility as the staff were all courteous and respectful of one another. After asking several questions, I found that some had been at Cornerstone up to 30 years. Further, there were mothers and daughters working there, and daughters that started working there post their mothers' employment. Not to mention those that had actually babysat for their co-workers and yes, those young ladies were now working there. My husband is doing VERY WELL as he continues his next phase of recovery! We Praise God for the many miracles He has worked in our favor!!! So, with that, please allow me to offer the following: Nurse Bones: You went above and beyond to ensure my husband's care, morale, and security were always at its highest standard while you were on shift. It was a true JOY to call when you were on shift, whether you were his nurse or not!!! Nurse Jill: Thank you for always caring about making him laugh and doing all you could to keep him in good spirits! You truly cared about how he was doing and it showed!! Nurse Saul: You are amazing! You were always there when I had questions or asked for help and I appreciate you for looking after him and taking the time to explain things to me when I didn't understand. Remember what we talked about!!! :) Nurse Chad: I truly appreciate how you made sure everyone that was there after you knew exactly what my Husband needed! You went way above and beyond and I appreciate all you did to boost his morale and encourage him when he needed it most! To the kitchen staff: Thank you for making sure I ate when I was focused on everything but the "taking care of me" part. The staff saw I was sad and took time to come and sit with me to offer me encouragement and pray with me! Mrs. Tammy - I don't have enough space here to tell you how much your efforts mean to me. When others in your department were ready to dump him at a nursing home, you went above and beyond to make sure he got to where he NEEDED to be, in spite of them. I appreciate the fact that you stood strong and prevented all the hard work my husband did recovering at Cornerstone from being undone! To the Front Desk Staff: Thank you for always keeping me company and helping me keep my spirits up even when you both could tell when I was clearly upset or sad about something! Your conversations and encouragement meant so much! Last but NOT LEAST, the PT Staff: Jarrett you and your people are Godsends!!! THANK YOU!!! Now for the rest: My Husband needed a CT scan because of swelling. The nurse told the weekend doctor. The weekend doctor ordered it, then cancelled it the NEXT DAY. Then his primary doctor said it was too dangerous to send him out to get it done, only to do so a week later when they couldn't get their machine working... and then BILLED ME FOR IT. Theirs still didn't work when we left. I was promised during my tour that my husband could get EVERYTHING he needed at this facility just like other hospitals with the exception of emergency surgeries. That was proven to be not true, and cost us almost $200 to show for it! I didn't particularly care for the fact that it was IMPOSSIBLE to speak to the Doctor while my husband was in his care past the initial report and the ONLY time I did was when he had to come to the center to see another patient. He even had nurses translating CT results to me. Some would say that no news is good news, but when your loved one is laying in an ICU and all you need is answers and reassurance, but the expert caring for them won't call you back after MULTIPLE REQUESTS, it only adds to the high level of stress and anxiety of the overall situation. Although a lot of the equipment is out of date and/or inoperable, I will be eternally grateful for the staff that worked hard with the resources they had to help my husband in his recovery process! I brought my father out of this place in May 2020 after three months there, against all of their suggestions, as they wanted to transfer my father to a skilled nursing facility. I am so glad that I demanded that he will be transported home and nursed back to health by home health and competent physicians. Thank God, my father made the four-hour transport to my home. After less than 24-hours in my care, I called Paramedics to take him to the Emergency Room at the hospital in my city. My dad who walked into Willis Knighton Pierremont ER, sent to long-term acute care on the 8th floor five days later, and then released three months later, was in horrible shape, with his infected skin trying to kill him. The Houston wound care doctor documented thirteen (13) wounds, some unstageable or at Stage 4, and contractures beyond 90-degree angles. You could tell the LifeCare (or PAM) staff had left my father in fetal position on his left side to die. No one thought the family would ever see the gross negligence of this facility as it planned to send him to skilled nursing with no one seeing the evidence. The case manager Marcy committed fraud by writing up his home health orders with Stage 1 pressure ulcers, so much that when the Houston home health agent read Shreveport LifeCare's description of my father's physical condition and compared it to Houston hospital's physical condition report, they commented that "We could only go by what LifeCare wrote in its orders, which obviously was false information." To date, my father has only one wound left that is almost healed. His contractures are almost gone. Look at it this way - My father got 13 wounds in 3 months at LifeCare, and my father has gotten 0 wounds in 18 months in my care... My father was not in LifeCare for Covid-19; he was in there to fight MRSA which he got during his Pacemaker insertion surgery. However, he got caught in the No-Visitation at facilities because of Covid, and it created the Perfect Storm for gross negligance at LifeCare. The infectious disease doctors who serve this LifeCare probably never even looked at my father. They never contacted us. They never wrote any notes on his file except "comfort care" and being Covid-overwhelmed is no excuse for these doctors giving permission for negligence. The internal medicine Dr Wen Liu and assistant Misty are a joke, and they will be reviewed elsewhere. The only time they showed any interest was in May when I said I was not sending my father to skilled nursing. Then they jumped into action to cover up neglect and try to talk me out of caring for him in my home. All of a sudden, Misty could FaceTime with me - wow - and was determined to try to show my father was way too sick and it would be too overwhelming. What a joke she was! And the only reason internal med Dr. Liu agreed to send my father to WK, just one floor below, so the cardiologist could see if Dad was a candidate to remove the Pacemaker with MRSA was only because the Houston Cardiac Electrophysiologist personally called me and said "Get that Pacemaker out of your father. It's killing him. Tell them to bring a Cardiac EP in, and he will immediately know what to do." Well, I practically jumped up and down to get this done. Guess what - the Shreveport Cardiac EP did know what to do - he took the MRSA contaminated Pacemaker out and inserted a Micra Pacemaker into my father. The Cardiac EP down here said my father was a good candidate for removal, yet the infectious disease doctors at LifeCare kept writing 'not a good candidate' in his files that the Shreveport cardiologists could not get permission to see my father themselves. WITHOUT my demanding to Dr. Liu to Get it done! Send him to the 7th floor! I won't go into the staff who like to play games with us when we tried to get information on our father. One night they say "You need a password." "Next night, they say "You're not listed as one of his children." Then if they did relay info, you could tell they were just reading out of a file. Once in a blue moon, we would get an angel nurse who took the time to let Dad talk to us on the phone or she'd tell us what he'd been talking about to her, and we knew he was of sound mind by just his conversations. When I was bringing him home, the new shift nurses did not know I was staying in his room because he would be leaving with me the next day. I never saw the morning nurse until I finally called the nurses station at 9:00am, asking where the nurse was - where are my father's meds, why is my father still laying in his urine and feces with the wounds dressings soaked and exposed to the urine and feces. Boy - the nurse came running when she heard my voice, in fact, three nurses ran in the room. Then the charge nurse came, then idiot Marcy case manager. Hey - I guess I got someone's attention - caught the negligence red-handed...

11/14 - I met with rep Christina and outlined our needs for my father because I lived out-of-town…read more My sister lived with our father, but she worked in the evenings. Specifically - 1) make sure that he had taken his meds (I had already put the correct meds and dosages for each day and time of day in his med planner) and, 2) make sure that he didn't leave home after dark as he seemed to have begun sundowning and had gotten lost once. We reviewed the details of the contract and I specifically asked about the terms for cancellation in case my father didn't respond well to this arrangement. I only wanted two hours each evening, but Christina stated that there was a minimum of four hours per day for their staff. I paid for two weeks in advance per their stated policy. Christina later provided copies of some of the paperwork, but not all. Dad had short term memory issues post-TBI and he didn't tolerate strangers, so I asked to meet the potential caregiver and make sure that he would respond well without getting angry or agitated. Wonderful caregiver Lisa came out in the rain that evening to meet dad and was great with him. Day 1 - An unknown male showed up that evening and my father became agitated and tried to leave. The man prevented dad from leaving, but my father was extremely upset by the experience. Day 2 - 'Bre' showed up early in the day and somehow entered the house unannounced and tried to clean my father's bedroom. My dad yelled for my sister to 'get her out of here' and my sister immediately called me. I called ABC and spoke with Christina who said that Bre was only available for two hours vs the minimum of four hours for which I was billed. I canceled the service immediately as none of this was acceptable. ABC refused to refund my deposit and I went into the office to determine why. I met with Keith Carter who said that he is the owner. He said that he would refund the deposit if I would pay the invoice for the staff's time. I told him that I would happily pay for the staff's time (approximately $200) and they could subtract it from my deposit. He later sent an email to follow up. The company lied to my bank and said that 'services were available' and refused the refund. Not only were services not available, this was completely irrelevant. To date, my money has not been refunded. (I can't seem to add images of the deposit and the email response.)

A caregiver with ABC in Shreveport stole my husbands laptop computer which was almost new and also…read morestole my diamond wedding ring. I called ABC and they asked if I had Video proof. No. I also told them they broke a really nice power recliner that I had bought a few months before. Did I have video proof and I told them ABC was the only ones in my home, just myself and them. I also told them that I had trusted the company and could not believe this had happened. My husband died a year ago so the ring meant even more to me, it was white gold and had 4 really nice diamonds in it. I had the ring in a clear vinyl box with my driver license and my Humana card so I opened the box on occasion and then carefully closed the box and put it back in the drawer. ABC was the only one in the house so I knew it had to be one of them. That morning I was getting ready to go to the hospital for a test & decided to dress up a bit so I got my box out and lo and behold my ring was missing. . I had seen it just a couple of days before. Mr. Carter did not even contact me, but sent the manager out who said we needed video proof before they could do anything. I said no one else has been in the house. And both items were taken the same day. I had checked his computer for something the day before. I felt it was an night worker because I took no naps and the ring was in my small bathroom near my bed. No video proof. Sad. the 2 ,most valuable things I owned. And saddest of all, my wedding ring with so many memories. Just keep this in mind when you start to consider which company to hire as a caregiver. They are not only expensive, but you may get ripped off as I did and they will do nothing about it. Just a warning and I hope I have helped someone.

I talked about it to a coworker and she told me about the jadeclub and how affordable it was. So I made a consultation appt at 7:30 am before I had to be at work at 8. I ended up getting a lip flip, and one syringe of filler, spent $45 with jadeclub & the payment plan. I was out of there in time to make it to work at 8. I am so happy with the results, I felt almost 0 pain and they look great. I didn't even experience bad swelling or pain once the numbing wore off.
