My fiancée had me take her two kids to have their glasses adjusted today. The place they actually got them from had a Xerox'd sign in their window saying they weren't open Mondays anymore. A coworker recommended Riverview. We didn't have an appointment and their glasses weren't even purchased there but the staff was incredibly helpful and graceful and did a great job and actually refused any payment. Went and had my eye exam and the receptionist was great, the Dr was very nice, I liked him. But when it came to picking out my glasses, I'm assuming it was the office manager, she was on the phone yelling at that person one the other end and when she got off the phone and loudly said it was a Veteran and a VA problem, well I'm a Veteran and now I'm not so sure I want to continue using this office. Not only did I feel uncomfortable about this so was my husband. They also had issues as to my husband and his insurance, he even called his insurance people and they told him they absolutely were in the network. read more

Doctors are nice and some of office personel, put the customer service SUCKS because they don't have an on sight office manager and apparently no one there can do anything without the OM's consent. I was in town visiting and needed my glasses tightened up and asked for a spare pair of trial contacts because mine had ripped. I have never had a single eye place deny me because it was written on a sticky note. In a desperate situation, why should it matter? I came here for like 10 years prior to moving away. I used to come to the doctor when I was a kid and he is incredible. His office staff at the old building used to be really great too. Since moving it honestly felt like the comfortable, family feel became almost robotic and corporate. There was a nice gentleman who helped me with tightening my glasses and Alyssa at the front desk was the friendliest! There was one older technician with dark hair and glasses, she had a horrific attitude. No need to come back here when I'm in town for an eye emergency. read more

well I really didn't have that great of an experience with this office! First of all I don't have insurance so I'm not sure if that's why my visit wasn't that great of one. It's almost been a year since I've been there. I have never been to an Eye Dr who gave you an eye exam and not use a Phoropter! well this Dr didn't he never checked my readying either when I was done I asked the girls he never checked on my reading she told me well I can reschedule! Or find out what happened there, I was kinda of in a fog as to what just happened! I had a Dr in California for over 20 years and he checked my eyes through a Phoropter and checked to see if my reading portion was correct EVERY TIME. So I'm greatly disappointed because after spending $500 for glasses that I just HATE and have a problem seeing with them. I'm thinking I'll make the drive back to California to get a better eye care. So I can't recommend this office to anyone. read more

Staff is cool. Exams are professional and workflow is well-orchestrated(so you're not 'hurrying-up and waiting' during your visit). Exam prices are as good as -or less expensive than- anyone else. I guess you can go to the 'free exam with purchase of glasses' warehouse, but I really don't recommend it... I outsource my glasses purchases, so I can't speak to that department. However, Riverview will happily give you all the necessary measurements gratis. I hope I didn't just make their work a little harder... I will be back next year for certain. read more

I have gone to this optometrist for 3 years. I just found out they don't take my vision plan anymore. The problem is this isn't addressed until you get to the picking of eyeglasses. So my recommendation is to ask if they still take your vision plan when you make your appointment. I will be looking elsewhere read more

Dr. Burgener has been my eye doctor for many years; always friendly, easy to talk with, answers all my questions, and you can tell he enjoys being helpful. I remember a few years back I was having issues with my contact lens and he really helped me figure out what was wrong and find a lens that I found comfortable. my husband recently purchased some sunglasses from them . They had to be sent back 4 times because they were not right . They were originally purchased on Feb 18 and he finally got to pick them up yesterday (April 11) and still were not right !! He noticed there was a smudge on one lens that was actually a number that was right in his line of sight !! When he went to tell them about it they were very rude and tried to tell him that all lenses have a number on them wish is crap because we both have been to other vision centers and have not ever had numbers on any of our lenses !! My husband was a cash pay and demanded that they either make it right or give him a refund!! They supposedly had to wait for the office manager to write a check and then she said she needed to wait for the dr before they could write a check . They were sure eager to get his money but when he asked for a refund, because of their f**k up... 4 times mind you . They were extremely rude and unprofessional!!! So, now we see if they actually follow through with giving him a refund like they said . I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!!! read more

These guys are awesome. Efficient, helpful and friendly. My dad went in with his frame broken, lenses falling off of it. And this guys were able to pop those same lenses into a new frame in a matter of minutes! And all they charged for was just the new frame. I highly recommend them! read more

I and my wife experienced the most horrible service at this vision center. First off the clerk named Ashley called my wife a liar and said she ordered grey lenses so I stepped in and discovered they had automatically gave me grey also. I then chewed them out for Ashley lying and explained that I have years of photos of tan lenses. I believe they may charge for tan lenses and give grey. Also the manager is also unable to handle a real situation well at all as she got all mad and hung up on me. I then reported them to better business bureau as they said some nonsense about a 50% restocking fee !!! At the $1,200 dollars I had spent that is a whopping$600 dollars!! Now that is a scam ..... They never admitted their wrong. But I did get a full refund from the so called doctor who called and acted like it was all just a misunderstanding. Lol the place is a joke and if you have a problem I suggest you to Better Business Bureau and they will get your money back from these aggressive scammers. Be prepared for them to get aggressive because that is their tactics. When I reported them to the BBB they responded with even more lies BUT WE GOT OUR MONEY BACK THANKS TO BBB... I was an employee at this establishment at one time, now I am a patient. both situations have been very pleasant, I just had my contact lens exam and I love the night and day contacts, fit much better than my old brand. Husband got new lenses and frames along with crizal anti glare and transitions extra active, he loves them, and most of my bill was covered by VSP insurance, awesome. no complaints whatsoever :) and, if need be, the doctor and one staff member are fluent in Spanish :) read more

All I am going to say is, make sure you call and ask if they take your insurance. It may say it on the website or on the phone but they may not. I drove 1.5 hours and they didn't even take my insurance after I made an apt 2 weeks in advance. They never asked me over the phone :-/, well my insurance had that location under my list. Very disappointing! If y'all aren't under that insurance in that location, remove it. I hope y'all did since this was back a few months ago. THINGS have CHANGED. The wife and I had been patients here for 13 YEARS. Today we had a follow up for a dry spot on one of her corneas. We live on my disability income and can not always pay in full. Today her follow up was REFUSED after a text was responded to verify we would be there. Loudly and rudely we were told if we did not pay our balance in full we would not see the Doctor. We have NEVER before been treated this way in 13 years. Your wallet and how full it is now comes BEFORE your eye care. We have always paid our bills and that will be the ONLY reason to visit again. read more

Horrible! These people were extremely rude to my mom(the McCulloch location). She was told her glasses (she paid 450 dollars for) would arrive in 2 weeks. After 3 weeks, she had not heard anything so she went back in. No one called to let her know their "machine had broken". When she finally got her glasses, there was a huge gap/hole between the lens on one side. When we took the glasses in to show them, the women rudely told her that was how they were supposed to be. When we asked to speak to a manager, they finally came back and said she could pick out a new frame that would work better with those lenses. (Which you think you would know if you specialize in eye care). When we asked for our money back, we were told we would have to wait for the owner's wife to cut and mail a check, and they didn't know how long that would take. FRIENDLY/ FAST/ AFFORDABLE I took my children to see Dr. Burgener at Riververview Vision Center for glasses and contact lenses. He was wonderful with the children and his staff was very helpful and attentive. The office was very clean with all modern digital examination equipment and they even had their own lab so we were able to get our glasses the very next day! Finally I was very surprised how affordable they were. Compared to other local eye doctors we have been to, we saved a lot of money. We will definitely be back. read more

This is absolutely the worst place in town to take your prescription for glasses. They will tell you it will take 7 - 10 business days to get them back but don't count on it. I cancelled a planned trip because they weren't back when promised and then rescheduled the trip because I was assured I would get them on the date before I had to leave. It didn't happen. They will not call you back when they tell you they will. I talked to 3 different people at that office trying to find out why the delay & I got 3 different stories. I will gladly pay more elsewhere then have to deal with this aggravation. At this point I don't even know if I'll get my glasses even though they are paid for in full. read more

VERY DIRTY / NOT PROFESSIONAL As soon as we checked in the staff looked annoyed at us. No one looked us in the eye, smiled, or was polite. They spent most of their time standing around talking to each other. One of the ladies were very kind and professional to an elderly customer but the others seemed bothered...(like they were all on their periods together!) The doctor was courteous but literally said "what the f**k" and spent most of his time watching the world cup games than doing his job. Professional? Not a bit! He went back and forth on his diagnosis and treatment before settling on something. We had to go to Eyes of Arizona to get a firm diagnosis. (which, by the way, was everything Riverview wasn't...professional, knowledgeable, friendly, CLEAN.) And talk about dirty! The floors were with dust bunnies hiding under the chairs and in corners; paint was peeling from the walls; furniture was dusty; the magazine rack was falling apart. The storage room looked messy, as I had a clear view from the waiting room. In conclusion, I'd rather have paid out of pocket and go to an eye care center that my insurance doesnt cover then go back to Riverview...it was THAT bad. read more
