There are two entrances to the falls. I would suggest go to the Branch Road entrance is closer to the falls. The one located near Bray Road is more area for the fishing. The fall is cascading down the step like stepping stone which match the name of the attraction. I like it multiple falls section which make it unique. It has several photo spot. Great to have it.

Where we parked there was a path to get to the falls. They are not really falls, just a man made dam with concrete steps on several levels to check out the water. I could see people were able to have canoes on the lake and there was a beach and playground off to the distance on the other side. Another part of the park maybe? A lot of people were walking around with their kids or come go fishing. So it was a nice family area. I realize I am more of a resort pool with a lazy river girly, so I am not in love with the many swarms of gnats but that is me. If you are outdoorsy, this is a nice place to visit. Paired with Huckleberry railroad would be perfect.

They've got plenty of seating, a bandshell for concerts, bathroom facilities, public art and more. My husband and I grabbed a pizza at the nearby Brooklyn Boyz and enjoyed a lovely picnic of sorts on one of their covered tables while watching the boats and the sun go down around us. It was lovely and one of the easier outdoor dining experiences I've had in recent memory. Parking on the adjacent street (just across from the Planetarium and the entrance to the park by the fountain) was very easy. It was a metered spot but it was on a Sunday so I believe it was free. A great place to spend an evening or an afternoon when the weather cooperates.

While urban, the river did offer a nice shimmering blue, and a large cargo ship made for an interesting sight as it passed by. Parking is no trouble, and it's easy to walk around the downtown here, so there's no reason not to stop by this park if you're there.

The spaces were close together and there were lot of flies everywhere. There was a poop smell throughout the campground and the beach. With the campsites being so close together you could hear everyone "yelling at their kids" or partying until 2:00 AM. The bathrooms had dirty floors and the shower was gross. The beach was a nice short walk just across the bridge and to the other side of the road. There were lots of campers and many of them had lights on at night or hung lights outside their camper which created light pollution so you could not see the stars. Maybe you want to hang out with a bunch of strangers and listen to their business or their partying until the wee hours of the morning. If that sounds like fun then you should definitely come here. If you came for an outdoor experience, wanted to see the stars or hear nature then I would avoid this campground.

Just before sunrise and sunset it's not uncommon to hear Coyotes howling or to see Wood Ducks. It's a nice hike. Five miles of well defined trails in 220 acres of woods and water.

I recommend heading towards the observation towers. The Observation Tower is nothing special but enjoyed a different view of the park. Pier was closed off, however it was a good location for a rustic picture.
