Really disappointing!
We stayed in a 'silver' chalet which I believe is an upgrade? Supposedly a slightly better chalet than the normal ones.
When we arrived it was difficult to find our room, and received advise from the staff member we asked. The staff were lovely people, I will say. It took us around half an hour to find our chalet, but it was dark. Of course, that isn't their fault.
We got to our room to see that we had our own wooden bench outside which was quite nice for good weather. However our opinions began to change when we entered and explored our chalet...
The wallpaper was peeling for a start, and we discovered a few spiders and I think was a dead fly! I was sharing a 2-single-bedded room with my sister, and I was sleeping furthest away from the door. As I walked towards my bed, the strip of carpet was wet and sticky? I don't even understand what was on it, but it never dried, damping our socks.
I'd also like to mention the position of the toilet paper holder, which was directly behind the toilet. This made it difficult to access.
As our stay continued, we discovered more bugs (alive and dead), which wasn't pleasant.
After one of us showered, the hot water was completely gone, leaving freezing cold water. The next person had to shower in completely cold water, which actually resulted in a headache! This was really unhelpful.
The entertainment was fantastic! There was karaoke, bingo, and more shows! We were very pleased with that! There was also an arcade in the clubhouse which was quite nice, as that gave children and adults some fun. A lot of the machines were out of order or turned off which was slightly disappointing but easy to look past.
As the staff and clubhouse were great, I've given a star for each of those. I understand that for a low-priced stay you can't expect the Ritz , however I do think that a little more cleaning and hygiene should be there.
Overall it was a bit of a disappointment, but we still had a nice time. read more
