For drinks and aperitivo this is a good spot. Drinks are €10 as of May '24 and well made. Staff is also nice here as well. Inside is clean and well sorted. Supposedly they are one of the inventors of Negroni, which was quite good, so I will give them that. Spritz was also good. Would come back for drinks and possibly food. They also have pastries and espresso.

The dinner we had was incredible! I had a steamed lasagna with truffles. Usually lasagna can be heavy but this version was considerably less heavy and was delicious. Our family and friends all had different dishes and we tasted them all. We did not have expect to have such good food in a central tourist spot such as this!

I just drank the BEST hot chocolate and ate the silkiest fruit creme tart I have ever had in my life! Incredible! I highly recommend to indulge and sit and watch the world go by!

    Italian Breakfast for €22

Beautifully appointed cafe with outdoor seating perfect for people watching on the Piazza della Signoria. They have open seating and invite you to sit wherever you'd like, however some servers were clearly and audibly upset about their tables being taken by small parties. The food was ok, for €22 you can probably find a better breakfast, but you are paying for the location so why not!

This place is so fun. The seats are pink and the waiting staff are all full of life. We only went for drinks and dessert and I think it's so worth it to go..we went twice in 2 days haha.

The menu is wonderful and full of variety! The location absolutely perfect and the ambience unique yet enjoyable! There is plenty of seating and a good selection of snacks, food, desserts and drinks! The prices are reasonable but the service is quite slow. We had to ask to check and see if we order up front twice and then we had a server sent our way after 20-30 mins of waiting. Other than the long wait this was a lovely little stop along the way on a rainy day in Florence!

Pastries - my favorite was the Millefoglie

The views from this cafe are priceless and the cappuccino and pastries are absolutely delicious ! We stopped here for a late morning breakfast and had to try three different pastries as we couldn't resist! We enjoyed the millefoglie with the crema filling (Italian custard), the apple tarts and the baba au rum and not a crumb left in our plate. We also purchased a bag of their hazelnut biscotti to take home - can't wait to try them!

Was in Florence and had to go try the hot chocolate, and Rivoire was highly recommended as the #1 spot in Florence for it. We went in just for the hot chocolate, and it was really good! The atmosphere and environment is really nice and cute, and the servers were all in uniform and very friendly as well. This is a great place to check out, and very much recommended.

View and Service is why you sit at Rivoire, not ham or turkey sammiches for €35 for two. Food is almost worthless, unless you get dessert which is the specialty of the house. We had a great time

What a view of the palacio becchio, where you can enjoy a drink and some appetizers after walk of around the city. Service was good, drinks were good, but location is pretty hard to beat

I had to find out if this was the best hot chocolate in the world. Definitely a contender, much more research needed to confirm. Definitely one of the top three hot chocolates I've ever had, very rich and sweet but not too sweet. I loved the ambience, the jazz music playing, the wonderful hostess in the front. The waiters were amazing with their starched white uniforms, they must've been hot (it was 89degreesF!) , but they were so gracious and kind. I got the chocolate and it was wonderful from the case. My salad was crisp and delicious with perfect amount of dressing-I got the fourth one Tuna with white beans. I extended my trip just to come and visit here and I'm happy I did. A true gem in Florence, I do recommend.

From the outside, it looks like a grand, iron-and-glass structure typical of European markets; inside, it opens into a bustling, multi-level space filled with food vendors, communal tables, and constant movement. The vibe is energetic, social, and slightly chaotic in a fun way - perfect for grazing, group dining, or trying multiple cuisines in one visit (from Italian to American to Mexican!). We stopped in for a quick lunch at around 2pm on a Wednesday; there was plenty of seating at high-top tables, and QR codes on paper menus make it easy to explore all the different food vendor options. It's also a fun activity to peruse the market, taking in different sights, smells, and flavors. All of us ended up opting for Schiacciatas (large Italian sandwiches that are a staple in Florence) from Massimiliano Parri, which all ended up ranging from €10-12, depending on toppings - yes, it's more expensive than what you'd get from a traditional schiacciateria, but you're also paying for the market's location and convenience. We appreciated the fact that they shave the meat right in front of you! My schiacciata came with freshly shaved ham atop crusty white bread, slathered with burrata cheese, and sprinkled with arugula and figs (I opted for no additional olive oil, since I found the ham quite rich already). I loved the contrast of textures and flavors, though I will say that the bread ended up cutting the roof of my mouth! All in all, Mercato Centrale is a bit touristy, but still miles better (and cheaper) than most "Italian" sandwich places you'd find in the US (pro tip: save your receipt for free use of their bathrooms). The variety can't be beaten, prices are reasonable for a central market, and it's steps from some of Florence's most iconic spots.

I have become a regular and I might add that the coffee is quite good as I take my espresso senza zucchero (without sugar) so I really experience the taste of every coffee i drink and this coffee is smooth! They also have a lovely selection of morning pastries. Yesterday I finally stopped with a friend for aperativo. Good move. We had some nice apero spritz and they brought us a charcuterie tray. We had some fun conversation with the newsies and were asked to sign their espresso machine. Christened as regulars!! Great way to start out our night. My espresso was out in a minute after ordering, and I shot mine down with some Italians from the neighborhood. There isn't quite enough room at the bar to drink, but if you sit down you'll be charged a fee, so the cafe is best if you're looking for a quick espresso, unless you plan on staying there long term and sitting down to eat, read, relax. I really liked that she noticed us waiting and served us; this was very attentive. I went for the mozzarella and tomato sandwich which was served warm. The sandwich was seasoned with Italian herbs; a nice little touch which totally upgraded it from average sandwich to awesome sandwich in the flavour department. - It made for a lovely breakfast that fuelled a busy morning sightseeing.
