Great office back up. Our routes were Heathrow to London hotel, london hotel to Heathrow, London hotel to Gatwick, Stansted airport (late arrival by 2 hours in the middle of the night and driver still waiting) to Ashford area in Kent, Kent to Heathrow. Would definitely recommend and for sure we would use again. We felt the fares were very reasonable for great reliable service. Made the holiday connecting in many different directions so easy. Disgusting service! Was at Sainsburys in West Green when an old man fell outside in the rain. We…read morehelped him up and Sainsburys brought out a wheelchair for him. He was very wet and said his taxi was 5 mins away. After 15 mins no taxi so we rang Metro who said they hadn't caught his name or address (no idea why didn't just send taxi anyway as the guy was clearly old!) So we booked for him and they said they'd be 15 mins. 20 mins later no taxi, rang again and they said driver was on another job (they knew he was old, had fallen over and was wet & cold so not sure why didnt prioritise? ).Finally after Sainsburys security rang them as well they turned up, an hour after should have been there! We got him into taxi and the driver basically asked us what he wants us to do with him, he's old doesn't want to take him. We explained we don't know him so can't go with him. He then just sped off in huff! We've told Sainsburys not to use Metro and advise that no one does! When we rang to complain to Metro the guy said he didn't understand and was confused (even though was the same guy we'd been talking to all night) and said let me put you through to someone and it just went through to answerphone! They will probably just delete the message. I hope the old guy got into his house OK but don't bet on it as the drivers attitude stank! AVOID

I like flying to and from Gatwick. The experience has always been less hectic than traveling to…read moreHeathrow. Perhaps because it's smaller. We used this airport quite a bit when we were stationed in the UK. Not that it was closer. It was just more convenient back then since there was a bus that would transport us back to the base. Our most recent experience was just as nice. We were dropped off at the terminal via a NCL chartered transfer from the Southampton cruise terminal. Checking in through British Airways was a breeze. We had no issues going through security. In fact, the security officers were actually quite pleasant. There was a big duty free store that we had to walk through before getting to the south terminal. The BA lounges were all easy to find after that. We had a delay before boarding, but BA kept us informed the entire time. I'm writing this review now because it may be the last time we fly out of Gatwick again. British Airways will be flying a new route from Tampa to London Heathrow later this year. Hopefully it will be just as convenient after the change.

My experience with this airline is only as an arrival, as I travelled through other parts of Europe by train and by air. The arrival was quite smooth as far as international travel is concerned. We were able to get through customs quickly. However sadly no stamp on the passport for the international travel. Restrooms had abundant stalls but there were really busy. The handwashing stations were individually in each stall. I had a decent experience in the women's stalls where I was comfortable enough to brush my teeth and wash my face. However my boyfriend mentioned that the men's side was really gross, not clean enough to clean up and reset after the long flight. My favorite thing about this airport is that it is connected to a train system that will take you into central London or whichever surrounding area you need to get to. Navigating was pretty simple. A quick and convenient arrival. I would consider flying back into this airport in the future.
