Staff is highly rude, maintenance sucks, places need to be torn down, they don't keep up with the places.

It's not the Taj Mahal. It's humble and has all the amenities needed to live comfortably. It's affordable and the staff are fairly easy to work with as long as you keep good communication. It's your home respect it. If you see unsavory behavior let the staff know. They do address issues in a acceptable time frame. They have many units and issues will arise from time to time. Rkaks property's are an investment to them. Hiccups are not intentional, renters are many. They can only do so much at a time. All my issues were addressed in a timely and acceptable manner. I really have no major complaints that haven't been resolved. Just the the neighbor/tenants you would want them to be. See something say something. read more

This company is horrible. Lived at the townhouses on 51st way s. Moved out early December and get a bill from them wanting 1800 in carpet replacement and 800 in what they itemized as discounted paint. My dog did scratch a hole in the carpet in the basement but 4 yrs earlier had 2 inches of water on it due to the egress window flooding. The carpet in the house is also 10 yrs old! Along with the paint. There were 3 rooms with screw holes in the wall that had tvs mounted needing some mud and paint but 800 dollars? The majority of their tenants were HUD/Section 8 so you're paying 1700 a month living in a low income ghetto. The snow removal was a joke would take days for them to come out after a storm and the lawn service just as bad maybe 6 mows for the whole season. Don't walk RUN from this company!! read more

Want to rent your property out? DON'T go with these guys!!! The owner came to our home, outlined the pricing and what they'd do for us, everything seemed great at first. That is, with the exception of him refusing to address me, the wife, who was the main person getting this set up and the person e would have communication with in the future. We then went to their office to sign paperwork and decided on extra advertising for around $90 because it was getting late in the summer. I distinctly remember again the owner's refusal to deal with me and instead addressing my husband as if I wasn't there. A month later, nothing, not rented and no applications. I emailed, no response. Called, never got a call back. My husband called and finally got through. He was told people were calling and were interested but just not rented yet because they wanted to ensure we had a good renter. I decided to run over to our property to check on it, and couldn't believe it. No one had been there, not even once!! The shampooed carpet had not one mark on it. I decided at that point to see how our advertising was going. Looked on rent.com, apartments-hq, the in-forum, craigslist. Not even ONE had our property for rent on it. They did have it on their own website with no details, no pictures, bare minimum 3bed/2bath. At that point we decided to cancel our deal with RKAK. We had no contract and clearly they weren't doing their job. We called and they said they "had someone great that was going to put in a rental application today but if you want to cancel"...yes. Yes we do. We placed an ad on Craigslist and had wonderful renters in within a week, paperwork signed and keys handed over. We were lied to every single step of the way with this company. We were brushed off when concerned and lost two full months of potential rent. The business owner has a serious problem with women and will not address us if a man is present. I'm not a feminist by any means but this was the worst treatment I've ever experienced as a woman. They simply do not do the job, and then when cancelled they had the gall to keep our so-called advertising fee!! They didn't do a bit of advertising. I went online to find a Place for me and my daughter to live in and came across a property that was rented out by RKAK. I had called to see if i could see this unit and they were very friendly and asked when I was available instead of telling me when they were available. I liked that. also the unit that i went to go look at was nice and in my price range which was Awesome . I am currently still renting with them and have had no problems. I would recommend them to others as well as my friends/family. read more

I'm posting on my sister's behalf: Rkak properties in Moorhead have a roach infestation. My sister found this out the night she moved in. They acted like they didn't know what she was talking about and offered to exterminate. My sister is horrified of these bugs she never had to deal with. They said they exterminated and the bugs did not go away in fact they multiplied fast. They said they exterminated a second time bugs were not gone. They offered to show my sister other rkak properties. She seen 3 other apartments and they all had dead roaches in them. In fact the woman doing a showing at one property hurried up and got rid of a dead roach my sister acted like She didn't see. She turned down those options and they agreed that they will let her out of her lease and give her deposit back. She didn't even unpack her stuff the whole one month she stayed there and had to go back through all of her belongings to make sure she wasn't bringing the suckers with her. The property my sister lived at for a while month was the townhomes and although they look nice looks are decieving. STAY FAR AWAy!!!!!!! read more

Absolutely terrible... their customer service is horrid, does not pay attention to detail until the check out when they want to take your money. Half of their staff does not care and the other are rude and not helpful. They take forever to cash checks, tried to fine us for damage that was already there and noted on the move in sheet. They also did not give specific cleaning instructions when moving out then charged us for outrageous things like the AC vent not being clean as well as the vent on the microwave as well as a small amount of dust BEHIND the fridge. I would understand wanting this stuff cleaned but these are things most don't think of and should have been included on the small list of things they sent to clean yet when the check out occur the list of things that were looked at was triple what the list they gave us to clean was. I am only giving them one star because I have too. Do not rent from them. read more

Renting from this place has been a complete nightmare. My tub wouldn't drain, my toilet won't flush, and I have bugs. I've called them multiple times about it and after nearly 3 weeks they finally sent someone who only fixed the tub drain. Plumbers were nice, but maintenance does nothing. However, it's now been over a month and while they continuously say "I'll put in a request for you", I've had to stay with family because of the bug and toilet problems. Unless you don't mind paying for a place you can't even stay in when problems arise, don't rent from RKAK. They also do not clear the sidewalks most of the time when there's ice and snow. Oh, and best of all, they tried telling me TWICE that I was behind on rent when I was ahead and demanded more money but when my mother who co-signed for me told them she'd check the bank receipts they immediately chalked it off as a computer error. Literally the worst rental company ever. They are very rude, don't listen, and are all scammers. All their properties are run down. And they know they can take advantage because most renters are college students and immigrants (shame on you!). And then there's lots of druggies and questionable people too because they rent to literally anyone it seems. I've been in many of the properties. My friend's apartment of college students had bedbugs ...of which they had to move everyone out to deal with it. Our apartment rarely had maintenance or cleaning. When we moved in they had sprayed for roaches (already) and we thought that was fixed. Nope. Should have known then. Worst infestation ever covering multiple units. The neighbor guy had to take them to court because of this and they were trying to force him out when he'd lived there for years. We showed pictures to them of how bad the roaches were (everywhere). No one cared! Finally they were forced to spray the WHOLE apartment building.We moved out at the end of our lease because we couldn't take it anymore. And then they still had the audacity to think up all these charges when we moved out. Stay far FAR away!!! They shouldn't be in business! read more

Most people write bad reviews and don't ever think of writing good ones when things go well or they had a good experience. I am not giving RKAK a great review because there were a few things that pissed me off. They had only been our property managers for a few months. They informed me at one point that I didn't have a lease and I was going month to month even though my lease was signed and supposed to go until December. Do to the owner switching managers 3 times in the 3 years I lived there, they lost all of the leases and the upstairs neighbors and our notice to leave. We also had it worked out with the landlord and RKAK to have the upstairs neighbor and another friend take over our lease once we left. So when the time came they all denied any of this (future reference, get shit in writing...always...no matter how stupid it seems or how honest someone seems). So our friend was potentially homeless (he figured it out), our upstairs neighbor was stuck in his old place and they told us we had to give a 60 day notice so we would have to pay rent for months we weren't even there. They also tried to raise my rent at the same time. All I had to do to fix this was go the office and talk to them face to face, more like bitch at them. Once I had people in the office cornered they at least let us leave when we were originally suppose to without raising our rent. The checkout went fine. The guy had never seen the place before so we showed him the quirks of the place and the shit that was gross and broken prior to us moving in. Just to throw this out there, the place was in way better shape after I lived there. They claimed the carpets were cleaned, but I cleaned them myself with my mothers carpet cleaner and the water was disgusting. The building is over 120 years old so it was super dusty and there was blood splatter all over the kitchen ceilings from previous tenants getting drunk and punching each other. So I had to clean the place before I could even move in. I asked for some off of the deposit for having to do this but the owner just gave me $50 off rent each month and the deposit with no questions (shady). The owner "fixed" stuff himself, as cheaply as possible, so I stopped calling to get things fixed and just did it myself. The owner also said no painting but it was the one way I could cover up the blood splatters (no matter how many times I wiped that ceiling the blood returned...creepy). None of this was RKAK, just details. Even though I cleaned the carpets several times while I lived there and the owner was supposedly just going to replace the carpet anyway, they still charged me to have the carpets cleaned. They also charged me $120 for "General Repair" whatever that was. After we moved out, we had planned a trip to Thailand for a month and then we were moving to Denver. We stayed with a friend and gave RKAK her address to send anything (like our deposit back). They sent us a letter stating they charged us $125 for carpet cleaning and $120 for general repair, so we were still getting around $500 back from our deposit (keeping in mind the envelope had our new address hand written it on it). Upon applying for a new place here in Denver, the leasing agent sent a rental history report to RKAK and they claimed we owed $1600 and they were going to send it to collections the following week due to none payment. First of all, if we owed them this money, and they have our new address, why didn't they send us the statement? And where the hell did this charge come from? After calling them repeatedly and leaving message after message I finally got to talk to the guy that checked us out and knew us or at least our situation. He looked into it and they had charged us for the entire month of February and March. We checked out February 4th and payed for the 4 days prorated. He took care of it and resent the history report without the charges on it. Because all of this I am giving them 2 stars because these problems were easily fixed, but not 3 because they suck at communicating. read more

The worst property renting service ever! When I was viewed the home, it looked awful, i was told they were remodeling. I had seen what looked like construction supplies laying around so it was safe to assume it just was not completed yet. I signed my lease. I showed up on a scheduled date to receive my keys and do a walk through. 2 SHEETS OF CHEAP TILE FLOORING AND SOME "FRESH PAINT". The bathroom sink has RUST HOLES. YES. RUST HOLES that they feel is acceptable. It gets better, after paying my pro rate for the month, I went 3 WEEKS WITH NO KEY TO MY APARTMENT!!. My residence was left unlocked for 24 hours a day, while i was at work, while i was sleeping, for 3 weeks! Anybody could have came in at any time, take or do what they wanted! I never bothered calling I went right to their office and addressed the issue once each week, stressing that i have electronics, firearms, and other important pieces of paperwork/information in my UNSECURED HOME. Finally the "owner" came by to resolve the issue, 3 weeks later, and said "Oh I'm sorry, I forgot, I was at the lakes" This illustrates how much the owner and his management team care about you AFTER they get your signature on paper. Lastly, the man who is the owner, who will and if comes over to make repairs, he will go through your things and move things around. I've already had this happen once. NEVER WILL I ALLOW HIM INTO MY APARTMENT WITHOUT ME PRESENT!! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. RKAK is an absolute nightmare. NEVER rent from them, literally anywhere else would be better. My apartment had numerous issues when my move in day arrived that were not there when I visited. I asked numerous times for things to be fixed and it never happened. They didn't get fixed for 7 months when one of the maintenance people was in our parking lot and I begged him to fix things. He did a fine job, but more issues continued. I found out that my neighbor passed her background check even though she was evicted from her last apartment for choking her roommate. I had a garage, but the door froze shut and was not fixed all winter, making it not usable. Also, the locks to the building broke and were never fixed so the building was not secure. My apartment got bed bugs and I could not get in contact with anyone from RKAK for weeks and then I was responsible for working with the pest control person to get treatments scheduled that I had to be present for during the day during the work week. They sprayed my apartment, which did not get rid of the bed bugs and they never treated any other apartments. So I'm sure the building still has them. I ended up moving out before my lease ended for my own sanity. They waived the re-rental fees, the absolute least they could do. I paid out the remainder of my lease. They then charged for carpet cleaning and cleaning fees, although there was no way they had cleaned before I moved in or before the next people did. In the end I was out over 2,000 dollars because of their lack of upkeep and communication. I contacted them about not receiving my security deposit within 30 days (explicitly against the law) or an itemized list of what they claimed to clean, and have yet to hear from them after over 2 months. read more

Absolutely awful landlords. They are your typical slumlord. They never do anything they say they're going to do and if they do fix anything it's a 1/2 ass job that you could do better yourself. Their way of fixing my shower head was to put duct tape on it and tell me that's all they had to work with. When we moved in the carpets were never shampooed and I found a pee diaper under my claw foot tub that who knows how long was there before we moved in. We went a whole winter without control of our own heat. It was April by the time they put baseboard heaters in the living room and kitchen. The upstairs had control of the heat and a/c. We had black mold in the bathroom and their solution was to spray a homemade solution on it and call it good. Also black mold in the laundry room. They were well aware of all these issues. We finally had enough of their shit and moved out. When we handed in our notices they would not accept them and kept sending them back. Still to this day they are trying to milk us for every penny they can. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. STAY AWAY!! read more

I don't even want to give them 1 star. This company bought out my building, I put in my notice after 1 month of them owning it. They never got anything done. Called about mold in the bathroom in the walls and under my sink. They never fixed it. Now mind you my son has asthma and it became worse. They told me they fix it AFTER I moved out. Not right if you ask me. They never plowed the parking lot. I called about this 3 different times. They'd always tell me someone would be on their way later that day, they never showed. Now when I had my check out the guy was so rude! I was told from the previous owner that they would switch the carpet after I moved so I wouldn't have to clean it. Got told by RKAK they needed to be cleaned. Now mind you these carpers have been in this apartment through 3 people. I lived there for 3 years, person prior to me lived there 1 and the people before them (which I'm friends with) lived there for 3. Now I'm getting charged for this which is completely BS. This company Is so crappy. Please no one rent at the Country Club Pkwy apartment building. They will screw you over and never fix anything! read more

DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH RKAK! My brother and I had an apartment that at first was managed by Coldwell Realty. Then MPM and for the last 6 months by RKAK. Due to an incident that neither of my brother or I was involved in we had to dissolve the lease agreement with RKAK. This is where things get screwy. We left by the end of April as agreed but we were not able to complete getting the rest of our belongings or finish cleaning. We both had full time jobs so it was a bit hard to do everything and work at the same time. On May 11th they changed the locks and after many unanswered phone calls we finally got a hold of someone. We were told flat out that they weren't going to let us in for any reason. Not to get the rest of our things or to finish cleaning. They said that they'd take care of it. I just found out nearly a year later that I "owe" them $602 for cleaning and general repairs. How can they charge me with cleaning costs when we were denied access and "They would take care of it."? They will ignore housing laws to make a profit and make fixes as cheap as possible even as far as to ignore building codes. They should not be allowed to do business. read more

this rkak is HORRIBLE we moved into this place almost a year ago when we moved in we were given the same speech as everyone else reading these reviews my wife and i have 2 kids we got a good first impression however it took them 6 (six) WEEKS to fix the heat in our sons room..iam allergic to bees and since this place is so bad there is a nest this past summer in the roof ratings outside we called NUMEROUS times it was at WEEK 3 we actually got a response and it was VERY bad the guy on the phone basically laughed at my wife and said we will get someone out there to fix the issue...NO ONE came all summer...oh and in our daughters room the window seals on the apartment itself are coming literally off the place and guess what 1 year later NO ONE has come to even look at it...very pissed at that btw and there is more too so we put our notice in to vacate and they showed the place we have kids as mentioned before there were 3 toys on the floor in the living room and they called me leaving a voicemail to please please clean and make the house presentable...what a flipping joke i wanna go to their houses and eat off the toilet if they expect it to be that clean with kids what jerks...and there is more as well we have yet to see ANY real maintenance people around the one time one did show up after 6 WEEKS of waiting the dude smelled of BOOZE and smoked like a smoke stack i would AVOID rkak at all costs if u were smart oh speaking of costs the place we live in over the winter our heat bill has been at least $400.00 because of how bad this place drafts and leaks warm air so penny wise and smart sense wise AVOID these crooks read more

Terrible management at RKAK. I've been living here for a few months now, and it takes me calling twice a week for 6 weeks just to get my bathroom door opened (it was broken and locked close so we couldn't use it at all). Then the maintenance came and broke the door handle off and never came back. Another month later they replaced the doorknob after repeatedly calling them. That was just one of the many problems they were supposed to fix, but have either ignored, or started and never finished. We are supposed to get new windows before winter since ours have no insulation and rotting. My bedroom window was so rotted and screws were so rusty that it completely fell out when I tried to open it. So they came to "fix" it temporarily before the new windows come in (which needs manager approval STILL after getting estimates over 4 weeks ago) and they just nailed my window shut. Covered it with wood and said it should be fine. This is obviously against fire code, yet they refuse to come do anything about it. I call them, they say they'll call me by the end of the day with what's going on, but yet they just never call back. I have had terrible service from RKAK, and do not recommend anyone to ever rent from them. read more
