This happened in 2023. Robin had done my taxes for several years and I wasn't very happy. Their response time for questions was poor and fees kept escalating. Robin made me pay for my S Corp returns before letting me see them, so I had no leverage. I paid $1,900 which was twice the amount of previous year. I immediately saw they had made a $50,000.00 error to my bottom line which more than doubled the taxes owed. I realize that everyone makes mistakes but they would not believe me and refused to look at it until January. (This was August/September so penalties were mounting). As a small business owner for 40 years I closely monitor my sales monthly. I may need an accountant to do my taxes but I KNOW what my sales are. As it turned out they had mistakenly recorded a journal entry twice but I had to go to another accountant to find that out and have my taxes amended. At half the price. I was out quite a lot of money. I wanted to take them to small claims court but had some health problems at the time that prevented me doing so. The entire thing was extremely stressful.
