The doctors and nurses are great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. The front desk person has to be friends with someone in corporate because she is nasty. She is always giving attitude, never greets properly and is just unfriendly. Really sour experience that you have to deal with her on regular basis. read more

Terrible place! they'll try to sell you all sort of tests with less than 1% probability (=useless), and force into the most puerile genetic counseling. They'll try to sell you acupuncture, nutritionist services .. you name it! But they will lack the basics of properly doin their job..my doctor was able to retrieve 4 eggs out of a AFC of 15, and amh of 2+. They will always find excuses for their mistakes and are not transparent in explaining how they mismanaged protocols and retrievals! Be VERY careful to trust their success rates, they also have a very misleading marketing for that. My dr Maguire, kept showing 30 years old success rates while i was 39, "blaming it on me", with non sense like "seems you eggs have some issues of quality some not". Yes, that's called aging and the only reason i sought help by you in the first place! Absolutely clueless. read more

My husband and I found RMA through the referral of a friend and we are so very grateful. We struggled with infertility and my OB recommended a different facility at first. I had a nightmarish experience there. After confiding in my friend about it, she recommended RMA. I saw Dr. Maguire in the West Orange office. I truly can't say enough good things. First off, Dr. Maguire and the whole RMA staff are incredibly transparent, helpful, and comforting. They educated me on the process every step of the way, including going over the financials and contacting my insurance company on my behalf. They handled everything and I knew exactly what was going on throughout the entire process. They are meticulous almost to a fault - checking into everything in an effort to create the optimal circumstances for pregnancy. I am currently pregnant with my second child through the help of RMA. They truly made what seemed like an impossible dream come true for us. I recommend them to everyone who is having difficulty conceiving. They are top notch. One interesting difference between RMA and other fertility clinics is that RMA gives each patient's embryos their own freezer (pardon my lack of knowledge on the technical term). I have friends who went elsewhere and lost some of their embryos because they were in a shared freezer and the embryos were compromised by frequently being opened and exposed to warmer temperatures. RMA only opens your freezer for you. I found that comforting and fascinating to know and thought I'd share. RMA does lots of research that they use to evolve their practice. Tldr; place is gorgeous and the doctor is knowledgeable but it costs way more than at other equally good fertility clinics. --- Facility is beautiful and high tech. I went there for a second opinion after 3 rounds of ivf at irms that resulted in only 2 viable embryos. Just a side note that this is due to my health issues not IRMS but I wanted to confirm it hence the second opinion. The doctor I saw was very patient and knowledgeable and confirmed that the issue is with me which I was very grateful for. Having an answer helped me a lot. They suggested a fourth round of ivf done slightly differently but in general similar to the ones at irms. I asked for pricing and found that they charge 2-3x as much as irms for the same services. Having paid for things like blood tests and egg retrieval through irms I knew their costs vs rma's cost. I bring this up because many people have a lifetime max on their insurance for infertility treatment IF they have coverage at all. It's important to get the most bang for your buck. -For 20k I got 3 rounds of ivf at irms. -20k is one round of ivf at rma. Monitoring blood daily blood tests at irms were around 250/day. They're 500 at rma. Unless you have phenomenal coverage or a ton of money, definitely shop around. It feels like the facility preys on desperate women and price gouges them. Again it is a beautiful high tech place but ultimately im not sure if its worth the high cost. Just something to keep in mind. read more

IF I could give a 0 star I would. This is one of the worst places to go. Avoid them. All they care about is money and how many patients they can get in the door with false "hopes" that they work on fertility issues. Unresponsive, lack of transparency, charge for everything, lack of communication. I was supposed to have surgery with their "chief" and co-founder, who is arrogant and couldn't even call me himself. I have nothing but great things to say about this place! I came in with no expectations, they had been recommended by a colleague. Best decision ever the moment we sat with Dr. McGuire, I felt that I had a comrade, when we "failed," I was not by myself, Dr. McGuire and the team would discuss what happened and figure out a different approach. I never felt like a number or dollar sign. They were/are cheering you on toward success. IVF is stressful, brutal, heart and gut-wrenching. You can not always talk to friends and families, I could/can always talk to RMA. Yes, there are frustrations-it is expensive, things don't always work, and sometimes they are hard to reach via phone- but you can't just give up. YOU are trying to bring life into this world, life has given you lemons-RMA, Dr. McGuire, Joanna, Rosemarie, Carolyn, the Phlebotomy technicians and anyone else who I have come in contact at this location and Basking Ridge there to help. We started with RMA NJ back in 2014 or so, did 3 IVF cycles, and 2 FETs, with one successful baby boy (age 1 at the time of this review). No matter where you go, this process can be so agonizing, absolutely emotionally draining. Don't let that deter you from seeking out RMA. They are successful and professional. The facilities are really clean and spacious and refreshing out at the Basking Ridge office. Their research and outcomes are top in the nation. Have your morning monitoring out at the Baskin Ridge office. It's new and clean, and that is where all the big procedures are done anyway, so you may as well be familiar with the people and layout of the facilities. Yes, the West Orange office is a little old and dated, with a tiny lobby so everyone is on top of each other for early morning monitoring (hot and overcrowded). That office seems to have a tense ambiance with that kind of crowding, and the surrounding traffic is a pain in the morning. Get a nurse who cares about you, the nurses are not all "nice" it's true (just ask your doctor to set you up with a nice, responsive nurse who will call you back and talk with you about things). Some of the nurses are really rude, it's true, I had to change so many times, it was annoying and frustrating (in fact there were at least two nurses who were way more annoying than the big needles in the butt cheeks every night). Front desk staff are not very bright or helpful either, just leave them out of it. Talk to the doctors, and they are very responsive. I loved the doctors, even the rotations in morning monitoring were not a problem. We never had any problems with the doctors, ever. I was able to schedule most of my important stuff (saline sono, retrievals, FET) with either my doctor (M. Maguire) or with another physician that I was comfortable with. They are all good, and all of them want you to be successful Once you have done egg retrievals, the rest is easy. Getting the eggs and waiting for them to get to 5 days is complete agony, especially if you are older or have low yield. Hang in there. They do everything in good form, and they want you to succeed (good numbers are good for them too). Yes, they are doctors and yes they care, but it is also a business, everyone wants you to become parents in the end. Just do it and follow the protocols, get all your meds in order, do yoga and breathe in between visits. They will help you in the end toward your goal. We tried Cornell, and Scherr, and finally went with RMA because we moved to NJ from Manhattan. We plan to go back to RMA for baby #2 soon, fingers crossed. read more

To make a VERY long story short, do yourself a favor and avoid RMA (specifically the West Orange office) at all costs. Not only is it difficult to get a hold of anyone who knows anything (you'll wait on hold, then wait with a nurse to get a hold of someone who knows anything and then you'll end up just leaving a message after all this--what should have been a 2 minute call takes 10) but they are incredibly inept/disorganized. They have misfiled codes with my insurance company causing me to have to sort everything out for them, it now appears they've lost blood tests and all the while they've been incredibly inefficient on other fronts. I've now switched practices and it's a world of difference to deal with people you can easily reach, who want to handle everything for you and have it done so properly so that you don't have to do their job for them. RMA NJ was my fourth fertility clinic to go to in the course of 10 years, and I found them professional, on target, and most important, successful. Twice! (My 5 y/o boy and 2 y/o girl were both successful on the first try each). I love that you see a doctor for every sonogram - even if it isn't your "official" doctor. I didn't mind meeting all the doctors in one particular office. If you stick to one office - I used Englewood for everything but the final procedures - and really liked the doctors there - you will do fine. I love that you get assigned to a specific nurse. It makes it more personal. Of course, if she is out, it may be harder to get in touch. But you can always call a covering nurse if you have a question. I actually messed up a few things in my initial cycle and they bent over backwards to help me. This isn't easy no matter what. And the more successful they are, the more they have to juggle. But I think RMA manages to be professional and caring and has amazing success rates. I have recommended others there and they've been successful too. And when it's all over, you forget. read more
