I saw this place and decided to give it a try, I had Dr. Marshall Pollack who was amazing very knowledgeable and great bedside manner , really thorough and puts his patients at ease. I was referred to this practice by my kidney specialist, who I trust greatly, and I'm looking forward to my upcoming appointment with Dr. Audrey Romero. However, I did want to share my experience as a new patient when calling the office. The automated system indicated that new patients were being accepted, which was encouraging. Unfortunately, my interaction with the staff member (Genevieve) did not reflect the same welcoming tone. Her demeanor over the phone came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, which was disappointing, especially as someone calling for the first time regarding sensitive health concerns. As patients, we often reach out during vulnerable moments, and first impressions matter. I want to be clear that this review is not a reflection of Dr. Romero, as I have not yet had my visit and am hopeful for a positive experience. I simply believe that front desk interactions set the tone for patient care, and this is an area that could benefit from improvement. Lack of appropriate medical follow through, unresponsive, lacking compassion and appropriate medical care. From the office staff to the physicians, there is a disrespect even to basic medical practice. Following weeks of pelvic pain following a procedure conducted by Rubino staff, I experienced my OBGYN asking me "well what do you want me to do about it". They failed to call in prescriptions to treat an infection appropriately, and then after I was hospitalized and told by hospital staff and my primary care physician that my OBGYN should follow up within the week - she contacted me to say she could not see me for three weeks, despite further indication that an infection may exist. Go ANYWHERE but this group. read more

They offer a one stop shopping experience of standard services for preparing for pregnancy and preventing diseases. It seems easy enough to schedule appointments with their office. Do Not Make this Office your OBGYN under any circumstances. They have left me at stranded at 16 weeks pregnant, unable to make a follow up appointment due to their office incompetence. I made a follow up appt after my first appointment with them, but then when I called to confirm the appt, it was never made. I have tried to call twice to make a new appt and have been transferred to vm each time. The amount of stress this caused is not okay. As of right now, I have no OBGYN prenatal care due to this office's incompetence. read more

Worst office and customer service ever!! Completely incompetent and rude on top of that! I needed a simple prescription written for a mammogram. Not only did I find out 2 weeks later that they still haven't done it but I spent 3 hours on the phone, on hold, sent to different voicemails, and still no script. They closed the office 10 minutes early and my last call was sent to the after hours receptionist who hung up on me instead of helping me. This practice does not care about women and their health. Dr. Romero is the coldest, most disinterested and unsympathetic doctor I've ever come across. I've seen her twice and both times she was short, dismissive, and didn't make an attempt to ask questions or understand me as a patient. I felt like she couldn't care less about me or my well being. I waited DAYS to hear my results on whether or not I had breast cancer. DAYS! I called every day and was told Dr Rubino had the results on his desk but hadn't reviewed them. Finally his assistant, when I BEGGED her to tell me if I had cancer replied in a very annoyed tone "Even if you didn't I couldn't tell you" That was how I was informed that I had cancer. Dr. Rubino NEVER called me. NEVER. He was my Dr who ordered the mammogram and I was accidentally told by his RUDE assistant that I had cancer. Had a terrible experience with this office.. brought my young daughter for her first visit to a GYN to discuss birth control options. Had a very uncomfortable conversation with Dr Romero who we both found to be cold and borderline judgy and rude. The office billed me $220 for a 15 minute consultation and a prescription rather than an annual visit which would have been fully covered. Called several times to get it reviewed but finally just gave up. There is a reason this office takes new patients, (don't know who would ever go back) go somewhere else!! read more

I came here once and never again. I'm pretty sure it was Dr. Patel who saw me. I came to her with a skin issue and she gaslighted me, saying "nothing's there. Show me, because I don't see/feel anything." As I tried to explain my symptoms, she spoke AT me, shrugging her shoulders and shaking her head. Fortunately, I found out later on (NOT from her) while I was not imagining things, I was fine. This was a while back (probably years ago), so I doubt if she's still there, but if she is - avoid her at all costs. I recall it being super uncomfortable and fairly traumatic. read more

Lack of PRICING TRANSPARENCY and UNETHICAL BILLING practice. I was billed for 2 visits when I actually had 1. Patients please be WARNED to verify the COST of speaking with your doctor before asking/answering your COMMON medical questions. I have been with this practice for 2 years. Regretfully, I should have looked up their reviews before giving them my business. This looks like it's been a common issue which stems as far back as 2017 with other patients. I recently had my annual visit where my doctor (Dr. Ortiz) who asked the same generic health questions. I did bring up one abnormality from her line of questioning. She took a few minutes to discuss pros and cons of adding a birth control regiment which could POSSIBLY alleviate this concern. I thought nothing of it because I was discussing my health with my doctor. About a month later I received a bill which I questioned the charges for an outpatient visit. I learned that if you ask the doctor any follow up questions during your annual you are billed as a second visit. WHAT!? I was told by their medical billing clerk she just entered the billing code which the doctor referenced in my chart. She was vague and when I questioned her further she simply stated that I needed to contact my Insurance carrier. When asked, "What does my Insurance carrier have to do with what was submitted by this office, " her response was she had nothing to do with what services my doctor provided she just does the billing. I am really confused and I'm left with more questions which she could not answer. I am now scared about being charged for yet another outpatient visit, IF I do speak to Dr Ortiz, to get more info documented on my chart l? WHAT UNETHICAL practice is this !? This was not a specialist visit nor was it for specialists' service. I asked her to please provide me with a breakdown of price for their basic services. She said they do not have any ? WHAT, no transparency !? This should NOT be a guessing game especially when it comes to choice for your health care services and respective providers. I am dumbfounded by 1) Such a lack of professionalism, 2) The incompetence of staff and 3) Poor overall business practices. Horrible and unethical business practices. I made an appointment on zocdoc for an ultrasound, and subsequently cancelled the appointment well ahead of time for their cancellation policy (over 7 days in advance) and was still billed $169 for the ultrasound. I have the cancellation confirmation and have spent hours on the phone with their billing company to no avail. They are threatening to report me to the agencies, meaning they will just extort me for this $169 knowing that I cancelled in time and the service was never provided. Unbelievable. read more

I am extremely unsatisfied and upset with this group. Weeks ago, I scheduled an appointment as a first time patient that was supposed to be on Tuesday, March 2nd. I scheduled this through zocdoc, as they recommend it on their Facebook page. On both my confirmation email and appointment reminder email, the address given was the West Orange office. I made the 30 minute drive there, got there 10 minutes early, only to be told that I was actually at the wrong office, and my appointment was supposed to be in the Warren office, which is a 30 minute drive in the other direction. I had to reschedule the appointment as I would not make it in time and they have a strict late policy. This on its own was frustrating enough. The soonest they could slot me in was for this coming Tuesday, March 9th. I specifically scheduled my appointment for this week because I need a renewal for my medication, which I need by Sunday. I was told that because I have an appointment on the books, they'd fill my prescription for me and that I would be able to pick it up day of or the next day. I was transferred to the prescription line. No response so I left a voicemail with all of my information. Heard nothing that day. Heard nothing on Wednesday. I called Thursday early afternoon to follow up, left a message with all the needed information, and mentioned it was urgent. No follow up. I called this morning, same deal. I then decided to call the general line and explain my situation and asked if they could do anything to help me. Only to be transferred to the prescription line which I have been unable to reach. So I left yet another message (4th message). Still haven't heard back. The line mentions that the prescription department will get back to all requests within 1-2 business days. I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied and upset with this situation. Zero urgency and now I likely won't be able to get my prescription on time, which my body has an extremely bad reaction to. Words literally can't describe how angry I am at this situation. If I could give a place less than 0 stars, I'd give it to this place. Thanks a lot for messing up with communication by giving me the wrong address and doing absolutely nothing to rectify the situation!! read more

When I tried to call for my test result after not hearing from them for more than a week, i had to use prompts which did not include the madison office, only a nursing station where they did not pick up. After several more attempts i talked to a live human being who said the nurse was busy, i should leave a message and she would call me back. Although the nurses and doctors seem knowledgable, i am looking for a more responsive practice. read more

I would not recommend this OB group to expecting mothers. I was referred to this group by a colleague. I had reservations that dealing with a larger group wouldn't give me the personalized care I should expect. I should have trusted my gut, but based off recommendation I still chose to go with this group. I had my baby recently, and none of the doctors from the group even showed up to my delivery. Although the group had plenty of knowledge and notice about me going into labor, no one came. My baby was delivered by a resident. The Rubino group doctor on call, Jacqueline Saitta, did not come until AFTER I delivered. I was in labor for over 15 hours. She came post labor and simply asked how I was doing and left. There are plenty of other areas they were wholly deficient in, but I won't waste time going into them. I simply will say I won't be using them again nor would I ever recommend this group. read more

I wanted to visit the Rubino Group but the front office canceled my appointment because the doctor I made the appointment with would be in a different office on the day of my appointment. They had no further appointments in my preferred location in the calendar year (!) despite me explaining that I need to get my annual in before the end of the year under my health plan. Very rude front desk staff who treated me like I was undeserving of care because I was a new patient - they kept saying that they could have gotten me an appointment if I were an existing patient but not as a new patient. Overall, I'm very disappointed with my experience and am now scrambling to find another practice before the end of the year, despite having made this appointment a month ago. read more

Hands down the worst clinical experience I've ever had. Going to an OBGYN is such an intimate and vulnerable experience; the whole setting of the clinic, experience with the receptionist, and doctor made me literally cry when I got to my car. The doctor was not helpful AT ALL. WebMD offered more information and she rushed the entire appointment. Also, be careful about answering questions the doctor ask you because that could potentially get you billed a higher amount (even my insurance company rep said that the doctor is inserting unnecessary billing codes). The receptionist was rude, and I could totally hear a private appointment going on with another patient all the way from the lobby. Furthermore, I just went in for an annual. I had no major health concerns except getting a pap and going on about my day. However, the woman working the front desk billed me for multiple services due to the fact that I asked ONE question about my birth control options. This made no sense what-so-ever. I ended up having to pay a $60 copay even though this service is 100% covered with my insurance. I later called my insurance because I've been to the OBGYN since I was a teen and never had this happen. My insurance rep told me that any discussion regarding birth control and my reproductive health are all billed under an Annual. The only time it should be billed as something else is if the doctor actually had to do a procedure regarding birth control. Due to this issue with office staff, I was too scared to even talk to my doctor regarding my reproductive health. It was a total waste. And the smell of insurance mishandling was quiet fishy at this office. I definitely should of looked at the other reviews before making an appointment. I left here feeling taken advantage of and as though I helped their pockets more than my health. The only saving grace is the woman in the billing department that tried to hopelessly rectify my situation and was the only pleasant employee I interacted with. I ended up getting a full refund and then I got a random $20 bill in the mail. I just paid it so that I never have to interact with this group again. The doctors at this practice my be good but the front office is horrendous. my mother has been calling and leaving messages for over a month ( I'm not exaggerating ) to schedule a surgery. In frustration I have started calling on her behalf, the automotive service doesn't list all options, when you do make a random selection in hopes of reaching a live person you are just hung up on. I'm used to the usual warm and inviting staff and doctors that I have dealt with prior. With Dr.Patel I got the exact opposite. She was about 40 minutes late to the appointment(fine, things can happen at a busy office)rushed through my exam, and in my 10+ years have NEVER experienced pain during/after an exam but I did, no surprise because she was not gentle. Not to mention I've been given incorrect prescriptions for procedures I've had multiple times. And I've even been lied to pay staff members when it came to scheduling. I'm writing this review based solely on my PHONE experience with the group this morning. The receptionist that picked up was amongst the NASTIEST I've ever personally spoken with. Question after question, with no please or thank you, just like a robot and with a discourteous tone to boot. Asked me everything minus my social security number only to find out that the time I wanted to book was not available with the doctor I found on Zocdoc. Apparently, although this appointment time was clearly listed on Zocdoc, they are unavailable to new clients. Wasted about 10 minutes of my time. NOTE to receptionist: Before asking mother's maiden name, find out the times that your potential client wants to book with you first so you don't continue to waste people's time. To the group: Based on the tone of your receptionist alone, I would never even want to schedule an appointment here - even though one of your doctors has stellar reviews. NOTE: Before putting available appointment times on Zocdoc, make sure that you also include there that those appointment times are not for new patients. Stop wasting valuable patient time. Safe to say I will never be a patient at this clinic and will ensure all my colleagues and friends do the same. read more

Trigger Warning - please understand the sensitivity of my review, which is why it has taken me so long to write this. I will never go back to The Rubino Group as they left me emotionally traumatized by their lack of compassion. After years of trying to conceive, I finally got pregnant at the beginning of this year. You can imagine my happiness yet worry because of having PCOS, infertility has been a struggle for me. I had a few checkups at both the West Orange and Clark offices in the past for standard gyno appointments. In this case, naturally, I couldn't be seen until the estimated 6 or 7 weeks, but due to unexpected bleeding early on, I had to be seen immediately, not weeks later. I was thankful The Rubino Group agreed to see me that day, although I had to travel to the Clark office since appointments in West Orange were not available. Because of the emergency, I went to Clark. Once I arrived, although I had already explained how scared I was and the nature of my visit, not one person showed me any ounce of compassion. I had to pay right away before being seen, which I expected since my medical coverage ended before this visit. $250 for a rushed 15 min appointment in which I was told I "probably miscarried" in the words of the doctor, who I can't even remember her name because of how destroyed I felt. I was an absolute wreck. From the moment I started crying from being scared and alone, to still crying during the ultrasound, and then unable to speak from crying after I was told I lost the baby - NO ONE was sensitive to my heartbreak or even tried to show they cared. Not the front desk, nurse, or doctor. No one asked if I was ok, if I needed a minute, an offer of condolences, nothing. Nobody was even friendly upon arrival. The doctor didn't even walk me out of the room, only said "it's ok" before she left when I said I was bleeding on the paper they put on the examination chairs. I wasn't offered sanitary napkins or a bathroom to clean myself. The doctor said nothing else and left, without giving me any instruction of what to expect after I left the office. I had to walk out of the room alone, then had to ask the doctor if there was anything she had to do. She said "No, but you can see the front desk for a follow up." Again, I was alone at this appointment, as my husband works in NYC so although he tried his hardest, he didn't make it in time. An already traumatizing experience losing my pregnancy, being alone (I do not blame my husband for this), and on top of it all, not having one person in the office show me compassion. I was only an easy $250 payment in a full waiting room of patients. To say I'm traumatized is a complete understatement. To this day I still suffer from flashbacks of being in an office full of people, yet still completely alone in my biggest time of need. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Healthcare is Empathy. Compassion. Attention. I received none of this. Needless to say, I will never return here and I beg this practice to conduct some form of training so no other woman or family is put through this again. read more

No Insurance card, No Treatment! My daughter is an existing patient here. We changed insurance companies and before we received our new cards in the mail, she need to make an appointment. She gets there and is refused because she doesn't have an insurance card. She calls me and I tried to explain the situ and tried to give the receptionist the new insurance information over the phone: Carrier, Member ID, Group ID , SSN, etc. so that all she has to do is key in the information to verify the new coverage. Told her the cards are in the mail and we could get her a copy as soon as they arrive. "Sorry we need the card". Pretty sure if a patient can verify insurance that its illegal to refuse them treatment. The card is not verification, the card is a card. This is being told to an existing patient, not a stranger off the street who they don't know. I had just come from MY Dr and had no issues receiving treatment without a card, because everything can be verified online with the information I provided. Not here! No Card, No treatment and she would not allow my daughter to see the Dr. Not exactly a people friendly office. read more

I'm not the kind of person who writes or spends time harboring bad feelings. This has to be said. This is a WARNING to all who may even think about using The Rubino Group. Will keep this simple. Anyone in the Healthcare industry, especially those working with something as delicate as pregnancy should have compassion and empathy. Dr. Patel in Bayonne is not that person. She was cold, rushed and told me she would not see me before week 12 testing. This was striking to me as this is my first pregnancy. I told her I might need more support as just having undergone IVF and she referred me to pregnancy apps. Today, I called the receptionist to schedule my week 12 appointment and she told me she had nothing available. This is 5 weeks away from today. She told me I'd have to "figure it out" somewhere else because they were booked. Even though I'm now an existing patient. When I asked if I could see another doctor, the receptionist told me she looked at all the Doctor's scheduled in all the NJ offices and nothing was open. She also explained that I should get used to this because I would never see the same doctor and would never know who would be delivering my baby. I started crying on the phone because of how harsh and rude she was. I told her that I guess The Rubino Group wasn't for me. She agreed and hung up. Please do you research. You'll get basics here, and they're done competently most of the time. But you can't deny what the Rubino operation is: a factory. This is Big Medicine at its bureaucratic best. If you have any problems or questions that are out of the ordinary or not part of their well-worn routine, all I have to say is "good luck." If you're looking for a patient-centric approach or a office where they don't do tests just for the sake of tests, then find a small practice. Shop around and interview doctors. Fortunately I don't have major GYN issues. I do have a history of breast cancer, the drugs to reduce recurrence can cause uterine cancer. So after 11 months without, I started a "period". To be cautious my oncologist suggested I see my GYN. I was immediately told I needed a D/C and that my Onc was in agreement. I resorted to coming here as I can no longer see my old doctor. To compare, my old doctor took an hour to meet and discuss everything with me BEFORE my first examination. The amount of paperwork I filled out was extensive and she asked many questions which in my opinion, are all good signs of what a doctor should do. She also includes routine sonograms with the annual pap to catch anything that a pap would not. This experience was the opposite and regards the Madison location. The building, office and rooms were all very run down. I filled out some paperwork but records from my old doctor were not requested before or after. I spoke to one tech and doctor, both were very nice but that is where the positives end. I needed an annual pap but also wanted to ask if I could renew a birth control prescription I took last year. Immediately, the doctor ok'd the ask and proceeded to talk to me about practicing safe sex. Side note- I am in my mid 30s and married- I realized that she made the assumption that I was taking birth control with pregnancy prevention as the primary reason but that was not the case- there are various reasons birth control is prescribed. I had to make it clear why I was taking it and why I was specifically taking this over other forms of medication. It was odd that there was no discussion about possibly going without the drug, which I think a doctor should at least discuss with a patient, especially with no knowledge of my present physical situation. This showed a lack of experience and care as not discussing side effects vs. benefits of a drug should be a given. She also noticed a skin condition in which she had no clue what it was but proceeded to prescribe an anti-itch cream. I stopped her and said, "It's not itchy, this is something else." Her response, "Ok, well I'm still going to write it up because I see swelling."...there was no swelling. So no, I will not be taking prescribed topicals when you have no idea what you are looking at. Again, all nice people but this is NOT a top clinic by any means. Due to the lack of knowledge and rush to prescribe anything, I do not plan on coming back. read more

If possible, visit Dr. Tang at Clark as she is among the most caring, detail oriented and professional gyno I have ever consulted with. She explained well and addressed my concerns with knowledge that could persuade me. However she is always so booked up at least few months ahead. I went to Dr. Sanghavi for annual checkup and turned out to be a terrible decision. Things went well in the clinic, but once I walked out I even did not receive a detailed report from the lab (not even published in patient portal). I kept calling back and requested it; after I received I called to consult for my concern. Dr. Sanghavi's talked me down over phone as if I did not understand this situation( I feel she may need to refresh her knowledge in this perspective). Most unbelievable, she challenged whether my insurance could cover if as I could not pay. I have a very comprehensive employer sponsor insurance which covers 100% as I confirmed with insurance company, but I am not going to use it at her office because all she cares is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. read more

Convinced me to get an iud without warning me of the terrible side effects. Was laying on my bathroom floor for 3 days unable to move. When I called them, the doctor didn't seem to care. Then on the third day I went to get it removed and a different doctor was basically mocking me, "I'm surprised you didn't die." I've been a patient of this Group for many years. They did not deliver my son, as I lived out of state when he was born. However, they have always been responsive, communicate well and return calls when I have questions. My favorite doctors are Dr.Romero, Dr. Saaida, and my new favorite Nurse Practicioner is a Jennifer. She's new to the group. She's warm, kind, informative; she listens and genuinely cares. I had a great experience (1st Visit) with her today. The office scheduled me in at the last minute due to my situation. I met Jennifer at The Madison office. Staff was professional and friendly. I don't have any complaints after being a patient for close to 12 years. read more
