This was such an interesting and fun experience! I had called on my way into the area to see if Mr. Estes was open, and he was out of town, but he made sure there so I'll d be a volunteer meet me so we could take a tour of the place. We absolutely loved it, especially the antique cars! What a collection!!! I hate that we missed seeing Mr. Estes, but happy we were allowed to check out his awesome place! Oh, and he also has bathrooms and they're clean!

I can't believe this place has no reviews on Yelp. It needs to have. I found Roadside America Museum on the ever so popular, Roadside America website. I just couldn't find the hours it was opened. After searching and searching I did find where the posted hours open only listed, "Open by Appointment". That's not so. Owner didn't know where this came from. The doors are usually open to check it out. If not, call their number and he'll rush right over. We loved this place. There's a lot of nostalgia here. We enjoyed the tour and we enjoyed meeting the collector and renovator. What a great place. There are so many things in this place to see and so many of them are definitely from what you've seen in travel years ago. We loved the Big Boy and the cars he had renovated. We loved checking out the "not so popular" room either. What a great place and we'd highly recommend a tour. It's like stepping back in the past. Cost to tour is $15 per couple. We definitely got a lot of enjoyment from our $15. Loved it!

quirky and interesting, and the owner has stories about every single thing you see here

This is a great place for events and get togethers - your guests will never forget it! The museum is generally open daily, so call ahead, or call the number on the door if you show up without a reservation. Memorabilia, classic cars, and a great experience. The owner is super nice and loves to talk, and he has wonderful stories and perspective.

    A collection of memories

When you call the phone number posted on the door and Carroll Estes greets you at the door, you are in for an experience and a walk down memory lane. It is an amazing!

I'm also glad I happened to bring my National Park passport (you just never know!) Anyway, Waco Mammoth is definitely one of the more unusual units of the National Park System I've visited but also worth the visit!!! The history behind the site is fascinating. After two men discovered bones in 1978, researchers from Baylor University and other institutions began excavating the area and quickly realized they had uncovered something incredible! More and more fossils were found and in 2015 my guy President Obama established the site as an official unit of the National Park System. Though, one thing visitors should know ahead of time is that even though this is a National Park Service site, our America the Beautiful passes do NOT work here. General entry to the park grounds is free, but there is a separate fee to enter the dig shelter because it is operated in partnership with the City of Waco to help support preservation efforts. The actual dig shelter is absolutely the highlight of the experience, though you'll need to join a guided tour led by a docent. Hopefully you end up with one who is especially knowledgeable and enthusiastic because that really makes the experience come alive. I loved seeing the nation's first and only recorded evidence of a nursery herd of Colombian Mammoths from the Ice Age! So neat. At least 19 mammoths were discovered and the jury (err, scientists) are still out on how exactly these mammoths came to be trapped at this site/the reasoning for their passing. Anyway, this is a fascinating stop and absolutely worth visiting if you're in the Waco area, especially if you enjoy history, science, paleontology, or just visiting National Park units. It's not a full-day destination by any means, but it's definitely educational, memorable, and offers something very different from the typical national park experience!

I went here strictly for my husband because he loves Dr Pepper! Everyone here was very kind and helpful. The history of Dr Pepper includes the founders collection and sharing of marbles and on each marble was the second Commandment. Just goes to show you -- "acknowledge God in all you do and he will make your path straight!" He was also very passionate about equal rights for all people and put people of color in his advertisements long before it was acceptable to much of the public. The fact that this soda pop was the first soda pop, even before Pepsi and Coke and was founded right here in our lovely state of Texas , where we're just a little bit closer to God, warms my heart There are lots of very interesting exhibits to see, including the largest Dr Pepper bottle. They have special packages where you can make your own soda pop. They give you a free Dr Pepper with your admittance ticket. The gift shop is very nice, I picked up a lot of nice things in there, including a Dr Pepper shirt. Everyone I saw seem to be having a good time. They have plenty of parking and parking cost $10. Admission to Dr Pepper museum is $12. The package is our additional please check out their website. I highly suggest to visit!
