As soon as the doors are opened to the museum area, you are literally dumbfounded with how much beautiful memorabilia they have. I didn't know what I was going to expect. They go above and beyond with how clean, organized, thorough, and well presented this establishment is. The building itself is small. So I did not think it would be that great. But it took us literally three hours to get through it and we still didn't get to see everything that they had. We are so impressed and we tell everyone about it. The docents there are very knowledgeable and passionate about the Jail history and the history of Hood County. Upstairs has the jail holding areas, and downstairs has the old sheriff's quarters. There is also a few rooms that are dedicated more to Hood County history and have a museum feel to it. Our docent was super friendly and also took us over to see the historical cabin a few doors down. Highly recommended for any history buff!

There's the typical photo-op setup filled with pumpkins in the background. As you walk further in, there is a playground area for kids to get on the swings and slides. You can also find a place to look at animals - goats, donkey, chickens, etc. Scattered throughout the farm are various cars kids can hop into and take photos in. We went on the hayride, which was a nice 10 minute ride to see the Christmas trees. They also have a dedicated area to buy pumpkins. If you get hungry or thirsty, they have a lot of shaded areas to sit and eat. They sell food and beverages. Overall, it was a fun experience for the entire family.

The park has a half mile walking trail and a pretty pergola that stands about a few picnic tables. The large open grass area would be ideal for a festival or fair of some sort. They were massive and are said to have stood over 8.5 feet tall. I've always wanted to know what made beings grow so large and tall back then?
