This is an awesome (FREE) activity for adults and kids. We visited in (hot) July after leaving the Dino Valley. My kids actually enjoyed this place more than the state park. First of all, it was about 10-15 degrees cooler!! It was a surprisingly cool step back in time. See an old jail (with the an original door) the old school house, teepees, a stage coach, there was a blacksmith doing demos And they had a bathroom. There was a sheriff on duty that helped make our jail pics very cool. For $15 you can take a kayak out for a spin. Cute free place to stretch before you prepare for a drive home. read more

This really is a neat place. Old western building from the days of old. Family and I have passed through here a few times, tho we have yet to go inside the buildings themselves. The decor is great, there a shows and music on the weekends, often there are some festivals at certain times of the year. Good times. Trails, camping, culture, good stuff. read more

This is a small, quaint museum that I don't think a lot of folks know exist. There are some interesting sites and artifacts here. Some of my ancestors were cowboys after the Civil War, so I enjoy being immersed in cowboy lore. There are a few "colorful characters" working here who give you the backstory on the trail and information on the Native Americans, cowboys, settlers, merchants, outlaws, soldiers, etc who lived here, camped here, drove cattle through the area, and settled here. The museum is free, excluding the building dedicated to Native American (mostly Navajo) artifacts, which is a $5 per adult. This is a nice spot for adults and kids to check out. You can even bring snacks and eat at one of the picnic tables. read more

The place was "closed" in the sense there weren't any tours available, and, as a result, the individual buildings were all locked; however, the staff still allowed me to peruse the grounds. The weather must have rained the night before because the ground was wet and muddy in different areas, but that didn't deter me from walking the entirety of the outdoor museum. In spite of touring solo, I did learn quite a bit from the various markers and other informational signs posted here and there. There's even a little nature trail in the rear of the property. Quite fascinating! This place was definitely worth the drive out there, and I will have to come again when the tours are in full effect. read more

My grandfather was one of the best broncos riders in the west My grandfather Charlie Smith.busting broncos at the 6666 ,Trangle,and Waggoner ranches. Remembering as a small child playing on the 6666.I hope to visit the Museum very soon. There is an oil painting of my grandfather at the 6666 ranch. read more

I was there with the chamber of commerce. It has grown a lot since then. This is quite a place to visit. A lot of work has gone into the building of this attraction, heart and soul. read more

I used to love going out there for my walks but I rarely go here now. They do not allow us to go for walks or hide rocks unless they are open now. I still love this place tho. read more

Saw this spot as we were heading back from Fossil Rim Wildlife and decided to stop. So glad we did. It was a great experience and everyone that works here is so friendly and loves to talk about the history of each place. My whole family from my two kids to myself and my husband to my parents had a great time. Highly recommend everyone to stop and visit. read more
