I love their outreach to the community; helping those in need with foodshare; and family events, like the trunk or treat. I also love the way they care for everybody at the church, meeting them with their needs. For some, the music might get a little loud (full disclosure, it was for me at first). No problem, they have a room where you can worship with the music toned down, or you can listen outside in the beautiful Camarillo weather. Got kids, no problem! They have a terrific preschool through 12th grade programs there. I don't have kids, but if I did, they would be involved in their programs. My wife and I have gotten involved here greeting people like us a year ago who maybe aren't sure about CamCC. Trust me, wherever you are in life; young, older, new to faith or a follower for a while, or just not sure, YOU will belong here! Can't wait to say good morning to you!

Pastor Jim Johnson teaches straight from the Bible and preaches a conservative Lutheran theology with plenty of room and love for those who would disagree. Everyone is truly welcome here. There are two morning services on Sunday, a more traditional worship experience at 8:30am with hymns, and a more contemporary worship service at 11:00am. What I found was a church that first and foremost emphasizes teaching straight from the Bible and facilitating relationship building. Weekly Bible studies are available, as well as Wednesday night activities for all ages (AWANA, Jr/Sr High School Ministries, and adult studies) including $3 dinners beforehand. We planned to go to the 10AM mass and found the parking lot of the church had plenty of parking available. We sat on the choir side and they did a beautiful job with the music. The church was almost full of people with even the loft area filled with people as well and the church was beautiful with its simplicity and we later on found out that the sanctuary was remodeled. Mass was good and it was so nice seeing so many people just hanging outside with friends and family right after mass. They had donuts available and the priests outside talking to parishioners.

The priest who led the Mass was Castro or Cao from Northridge Saint Vitus and was speaking about this schism in the church. His sermon was confusing so I asked for clarification via a call. I got none. Debbie didn't even know or said she didn't know about this current situation. How is a religious organization hiring people who have no patience to take the time to answer questions to the best of her abilities and be educated enough on our current church teachings and current practices to administer to those seeking guidance and understanding of basic principles and practices?!! She instructed me to call him myself to get an answer. I shall do as she instructed and I suggest she do the same because apparently she's as ignorant as I am!!!!

I don't know how pastor Patrick managed to stay so hopeful during pandemic, but that's the reality in this community. Our pastor wants us to wear any kind of a name tag ... Some do revolt and they are welcome, too. Two person rule and background check for everyone who ministers with young ones. Safety is fully supported. Oh, and lovely religious music and excellent preaching. Worship aid for each week's music and prayers. We want you here and it's just fine if you don't come. It meets so many of our human needs... better than social media.

Casey (the worship leader) has quite a set of pipes on her. This is a smaller and cozier church, nothing like Rocky Peak. I'd guess attendance on Sunday mornings to be around 50-70? It's in a commercial area, in what used to be commercial space, on the corner of Flynn & Adolfo in Camarillo. Service starts at 10AM on Sundays and ends at 11:30-11:45AM. And if you want a snack, they've got Bagel Sundays on the first Sunday of the month. I recommend you check them out! Just tell them Mike sent you, and then you'll get a free worship music CD.
