I started attending Roar Church in June of 2019 after a personal invite from Pastor Louis and his…read morewife Karen. At the time, I had just gone through a really painful breakup and knew I needed God back in my life. I had visited other churches that were great, but none of them felt like home. From the moment I walked into Roar, I felt the Holy Spirit -- and I knew this was where I was meant to be. My very first Sunday was Father's Day 2019. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, worship was powerful, and the message hit deep. It wasn't surface-level or sugar-coated. It was real. Challenging. And exactly what I needed. The overall vibe is casual but intense in the best way. We worship HARD -- loud music, lights, hands raised. If you've never been to church before, you might think "what is happening?" at first -- but you'll also feel the love immediately, from the parking lot on. This church believes the Bible from start to finish, no cherry-picking, and does everything with excellence while remembering where we came from. Community here goes beyond Sundays, but it's a two-way street. Roar makes intentional efforts to connect people and offers many ways to get involved -- circle groups, baptisms, men's and women's ministries, youth, kids, and more. It can feel like a lot at first, but the best advice is to dive in. You'll find your people. The pastors are real. They tell the truth without sugarcoating it, but always with love and humor. Messages are rooted in Scripture -- not opinions -- and you can tell how much prayer, fasting, and preparation goes into what's shared each week. Each pastor brings their own style, which keeps things engaging and authentic. Being at Roar has changed me in ways I can't fully explain. I was transparent about my struggles from day one, and instead of judgment, I received love. When I messed up, there was no shame -- just people walking with me, supporting me, eating with me, listening, loving me harder, and telling me the truth when I needed it. Because of this church, I understand the Bible and worship on a deeper level, and I've made some of the strongest friendships of my life. Worship here is genuine -- not performative. Professional musicians, yes -- but the focus is always inviting the Holy Spirit, not attendance or production. That's what matters most. Practical notes: there's no dress code, parking is organized with attendants, service length depends on the move of the Holy Spirit (if you know, you know), kids' ministry is available and taken very seriously for safety, youth meets separately, and while there's a café, food and drinks aren't allowed in the sanctuary (water is okay). This church is not for people looking for perfection, a quick 3-point message, or a "country club" church. But if you want the Bible, an encounter with the Holy Spirit, and a loving community -- this place is for you. If you're unsure about church, unsure about God, or unsure about yourself -- come check it out. Commit to six weeks. I truly believe you'll experience a move of God. Roar Church is home.

Do You Know Your Pastor?…read more I want to bring to your attention an interaction I recently witnessed involving your pastor that I found deeply disappointing. I attended a sound bath hosted by a friend at a local park. I had never experienced one before, but understood it to be a mindfulness and relaxation activity, and I thought I would give it a try. About twenty participants were gathered quietly on yoga mats beneath two trees near the edge of the park. The instruments being used--rain sticks, singing bowls, chimes, and other percussion instruments--produced gentle, unamplified sounds intended to create a peaceful atmosphere. About halfway through the session, loud Christian music began blasting from a neighboring backyard. A child on a trampoline appeared to be mocking the participants. Several attendees later commented that the disruption had negatively affected their experience. My friend, who had paid to host the event, was upset and embarrassed. Afterward, she and her husband went to the house to address the matter respectfully. Your pastor answered the door. According to those present, he dismissed the event as "witchcraft" and showed no remorse after learning that the gathering had been a paid event and that his actions had intentionally disrupted it. He reportedly made a remark about having recently moved to California, which came across to some as dismissive and disparaging toward the people here. What troubled me most was not that he disagreed with the event or viewed it through the lens of his faith. People of different beliefs are free to hold different convictions. Rather, it was the apparent lack of kindness, humility, and respect shown toward neighbors who were peacefully engaging in an activity that posed no harm to anyone. As a pastor, he represents not only himself but also the church he serves. Christians are called to love their neighbors, treat others with dignity, and respond with grace even when they disagree. I hope this incident does not reflect the values of your congregation, and I hope it prompts thoughtful reflection and accountability.

I told him that, to visitors and families, this man appeared to be in a position of trust and authority and that I was concerned about child safety. The pastor responded by saying that the man was forgiven and asked, "Should he wear a stamp on his forehead saying he's a sex offender?" During the conversation, he also spoke about how beautiful it was to watch this man worship the Lord. As a survivor of abuse myself, I left that conversation in tears. I felt that my concerns about protecting children were being dismissed. I had looked up the offender's criminal history and learned that it involved multiple teenage boys. I asked what safeguards were in place. I was told he was not supervised when using the restroom. The pastor said his wife was with him at church, but that did not answer my concerns about accountability and child safety. At one point, I observed the man holding hands with his 13-year-old stepson in the church parking lot. I asked the pastor whether he thought that was appropriate given the circumstances. He told me he saw nothing wrong with a father and stepson holding hands. My concern was never about whether someone could attend church. My concern was the safety of children. I believe protecting children should come before protecting the reputation, comfort, or feelings of adults. When concerns about child safety are minimized, survivors and parents are left feeling unheard and unprotected. That experience changed the way I view church leadership. In my opinion, churches should be judged not by how they treat offenders, but by how seriously they take the responsibility to protect children. For anyone presently attending, you could ask what their current protocols are for the registered sex offenders in their church.

Peaceful Chapel located right off the 101 freeway near the 23. I've been blessed to visit some churches traveling for work. I've had the privilege of visiting the church a few times. This community was very reverent. They have a nice patio area outside, the chapel isn't large but very intimate. They have their Mass schedule online. A LOVING COUPLE, AND A GREAT TEAM…read more As we drove into the parking lot on one side were a group of men and women with tattoos and long windblown hair, dressed in boots, jeans, T-shirts, black leather vests, standing next to their Harley's. The other side men and women dressed in uniform; police, sheriff, fire, and paramedics, as well as those who serve our country. Families and loved one's getting out of their cars walked to the entrance, a large-sized landing adorned with a wooden pergola. The lobby was set up with tables and easels filled with pictures, photo albums, and guest books, and elegant flower arrangements. The service was held in a large open space, with a capacity of a thousand people. In the front of the room is a stage with a podium, piano, and projector screen. Lying on the floor, were two backpacks, the packs of Steve and Linda. There is a back covered patio with tables and chairs and a well cared for green space that can be used for picnics or other gatherings. Gone in 15 minutes, the lives of seven individuals, six crew members and a personal friend of Steve and Linda, who were canyoneering in Keyhole Canyon, Zion, UT, were taken by surprise when the worst storm in over 100 years unexpectedly hit the area. The strong ties to the community and well-loved filled every seat, standing room only three feet deep, the room holds well over fifteen hundred people. REST IN PEACE The audio visual used to show their lives from high school sweethearts to a happily married couple could be seen and heard without any issues. Steve and Linda were not only an honest to goodness, loving couple, but also a great team and the service given here was tranquil and heartwarming, they are now hikin' it up in the high heavens with the rest of The Crew members we lost. review 100 on the 100th day of 2016
