Our daughter just graduated from Kindergarten and as her first ever summer camp experience, Roar Taekwondo did not disappoint. The camp was recommended to us by another mom whose daughter attended for the first time last year and I met other parents in addition to her who all raved about the great experience their children had had in previous years and they were returning for more. I loved the thought out programming where the children were exposed to a variety of cultural activities in addition to martial arts while also enjoying themselves with lots of fun things to do such as trips to the park, the pool, the movies, skating, bowling, laser tag, and more. I would have loved a summer camp so engaging when I was her age and every day she came home she had a new story to tell of the fun she had. Master Surendra is so wonderful with all of the children in his program and he has done a great job of finding excellent support staff who seem to really share his passion for working with children. My child has been attending their classes and participating in their aftercare program and summer camp, and the experience has been exceptional. My past working two or three jobs had taken a toll on my mental health and physical fitness over last ten years. Since March I have attended class once a week with my boys.They are growing to be more discipline and caring towards each other and to others. They are helping me more at home and there has been less arguing at home. I am gaining better understanding of who they are as they approach teen age years. Their physical fitness is better as well. I am very grateful for all the Instructors there who are patient and caring to all the students. They go out of their way after class to go over any questions. Discipline is extremely important here. My son has been taking classes here for a little over a year and they are AMAZING! Not only have I seen the positive differences that have been made in my son, but other kids that started when he did. For my son in particular, I have seen his self confidence, self-control, respect for others, & concentration improve substantially. Roar has been great for my daughter. She is going into her 3rd year here and in 5th grade. I don't have to force her to go, she begs me to go. She loves doing the tournaments, being in the parades and doing all their activities. Its given her somewhere to get her emotions out and learn to control them. My daughter loves the Little Lions program! Roar Taekwondo has the best instructors and they're so patience with the children of all ages. The first free intro class was perfect for my daughter, it allowed her to get a hands on experience of what taekwondo was before committing to the classes. We used to go to the ROAR location in Indian Trail and recently switched to the Matthews location. We have had a great experience at both, but we really love the new Matthews location. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and truly cares about the kids. My child enjoys coming every time, and the environment is clean, fun, and positive.
