I had a front tooth crown that I had been waiting for from my previous nightmare for over 4 months. Dr. Shirk assured me that we would get it taken care of with a local lab to match the shade. After a few tries (not the dentist's fault) but the lab, the lab finally got the shade right. Dr. Shirk would not stop until I was happy with the outcome and the shade matched to the rest of my teeth. I must say, I am impressed. Customer Service is very hard to find these days. Dr. Shirk goes above and beyond for his patients from my own experience. His assistant, Alex, is wonderful as well. I love walking into a dentist office where it's clean, the workers get along and are happy, and the dentist himself actually cares about his patient. You'd be crazy not to give Dr.Shirk and his office a try. He is a true definition of someone that takes pride in his work!

I called again on Tuesday, 05/06 to cancel my appointment. I was told it had been canceled on Monday afternoon. Now, 15 hours before my appointment and when the "practice" is closed, I'm informed my appointment was never canceled. If they can't manage to do something as simple as canceling an appointment, I definitely wouldn't allow them to "practice" their dentistry on me. Maybe this is their way to generate some income from no show fees.

This was our second time at the clinic, and on both occasions, I noticed the dentist (who I believe is also the owner) Adam Afashi, was sitting casually with his legs up at a computer near the front desk as we checked in. That first impression alone did not inspire much confidence. During the actual dental review, the dentist was noticeably unsociable and disengaged. My daughter, who has special needs, reached out to hold his hand for comfort, and he visibly pulled away in a way that felt cold and unkind. He also appeared frustrated that she wasn't opening her mouth wide enough--without offering any gentle guidance or reassurance. His behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply lacking in empathy and basic people skills, which are crucial when working with children--especially those with special needs. The only reason we chose this clinic was its convenient location, but I regret not reading the reviews beforehand. I do *not* recommend Adam Afashi at Fredericksburg Pediatric & Cosmetic Dentistry to anyone, especially families with young or special needs children.
