2020 has passed and we couldn't be happier with our completed first floor project, thanks to Jim…read moreRutherford Construction. Jim was willing to tackle what other local well known contractors were either unwilling to consider or bid so high as to be unaffordable. Our project proved to be a technical challenge from the onset, raise the ground floor by almost a foot of concrete, completely rebuild the first floor by installing 3 impact French doors, 3 impact doors and 4 impact windows, cut off support an internal staircase including modifying framing around a dumbwaiter, reframe and replace every exterior wall from 4' down. Plus an added surprise rebuilding and repairing 45' of a heavily spalled concrete tie-beam in less than a week. We're still amazed at how quickly and confidently Jim set about taking on the project, he seemed to have it figured out before we even committed to getting started. He knew just right carpenters and subs to assign the work to. Once they began, they never stopped till the project was completed. Workmanship was outstanding, inspections were a breeze. Covid never slowed them down! I commend Jim for the quality of work and attention to detail, no corners or shortcuts taken, stainless hardware/fasteners throughout and pressure treated lumber. Add them all up and we have a completely new remodeled permitted downstairs ready to withstand the elements. It is without hesitation we'd recommend Jim Rutherford Construction for any project or home construction. Professional, polite and a pleasure to do business with. Given the recent increase in cost of materials, we were more than pleased with Jim's pricing and fairness.

Patty and Diane helped us find an architect and then guided us through the construction process every step of the way. Had we not had pandemic related delays getting our windows and appliances, we would have been right on schedule in terms of actual construction time, and we were pretty much right on budget with the exception of a few things we added that were outside the scope of the original contract. It was reassuring to know that Patty was on the job site daily, especially since we were not in town while construction was ongoing. The quality of the work done by all their subcontractors is excellent. We're very happy with our "new" home!

We met Patty at a Chamber of Commerce Luncheon & asked her about meeting with us. The very next day we sat down with Patty; she was very professional, easygoing, knowledgeable and addressed all our concerns. We closed our Shoppe on May 7 and after an amazingly short 6 weeks, we were able to reopen on June 30 for July 4th weekend. Patty was at the shop every day, making sure the project was staying on schedule & dealt with any problems that always arise! We owe that quick turn-around to Patty & her great group of Subs!
