After having new roof and gutters installed, found a few issues after a short period of time. The…read morebathroom vent on the roof, was smashed closed. I realized this when water started dripping from my bathroom ceiling after the next winters thaw (due to humidity buildup in my attic). The next thing found was with the gutters. They were not installed with a proper angle along the run, such that the water would drain to the downspouts. Result is multiple sections of the gutter hold a large portion of water until they slowly leak form the joints. When looking closer at these, one of the corner joints has come apart significantly, allowing water to drain back to the wood on the house. Called the representative and still no one shows up to fix the issues. Based on my experience, if you want a problem free job done at your house with good support of follow-up, then look for a different company to do your work.

He started by down grading the insurance adjuster and the company who gave us a quote before him. We thought that was very unprofessional. He seemed like he was trying to pressure us to make a decision right then. When he was droning on about financing my wife as well as myself told him we didn't need to discuss this at that time he continued on as if it didn't matter what we said. All we needed was an estimate at that time. He said he really couldn't without talking to us in person. When we cancelled the appointment about the estimate he all of sudden could get an estimate together and email one. This one person is keeping us away from knowing if this is a decent business or not. We are done.

They seem to be good at the basics of what they do. But you should ask them to provide proof of…read moreinsurance at least, since there's no record of them on Iowa Business Entities Search or the Iowa Division of Labor Contractor Registration website. Also, they may not be a good choice if you know or reasonably suspect you have lead-based paint. They don't understand, or don't care about, the connection between exposure to lead dust (e.g. from home renovation) and brain damage to children under age 6 and fetuses (through a pregnant woman's exposure to lead dust). The outermost coat of paint on your walls, or on wood siding that might be underneath vinyl siding, might not be lead-based. But there are often older layers of lead-based paint on these surfaces. If you cut into the house to widen a window opening without wetting down the area first (or at least putting up a plastic containment area inside the house) you will definitely generate dust from that paint, even if it doesn't look like much.

There are, however, several things that are less noticeable that really have me upset! First, one of my windows was measured wrong and it is about an inch too small. It looks ok on the outside because of the new trim. But on the inside there is a cobbled in piece of trim that looks dreadful and makes it impossible to use my inside mount wooden blinds. Second, the new door on my enclosed porch is poorly fitted. It is both too tight to easily open AND not water tight! Third, the gutters with the Leaf Filter are poorly done and water flows off my porch opposite the downspout. Plus the Leaf Filter is a joke! The leaves and tree debris sits on top of the filter and looks crappy! And lastly, I was disappointed to learn that the porch trim below the soffit and on the porch ceiling was not part of the siding package. So now I have to figure how to get that taken care of!
