Many, many people have had similar experiences of Dr. Robert Lyon being a drunk, angry dentist. It's one thing to be intoxicated at your own home, but it is another to drink while AT WORK - especially as a doctor who is working on patients. Also, he is known to not wear gloves or a mask while with patients. He has violent outbursts. His actions have been reported to various local and state agencies. Steer clear of him. read more

I went to dr. Lyon for 1 tooth pulled ONLY !!! As he is also an oral surgeon. It was suppose to be ONE VISiT ONLY !!! I have a regular dentist !! He pulled the tooth , but snapped the crown off next to it . He said it was a weak crown . He promised to replace it !! I went back two days later . He didn't put the temporary on correctly , he caused severe pain , did not numb my mouth all the way . I felt everything !!! I could smell alcohol on his breath . After he was done . He left the room came back in . Jammed a tool inside the side of my mouth . Leaned over me with no mask on screaming and swearing at me . I begged and pleaded with him to stop that I wanted to leave . I have never been been verbally attacked in Dental chair before or a tool shoved in the side of my mouth causing pain !! . I was in shock !! I cried , I was shaking , I was terrified of this man !!!! WARNING DO NOT GO TO DR. ROBERT LYON !!! A friend of mine had an appointment with him about 45 minutes after I left and he verbally attacked her to the point where she was in tears.he caused her a lot of mental and physical pain...I don't know what is going on with Doctor Lyons but I sure hope he gets the help that he needs. BEWARE, stay away from this dentist! He is personable UNTIL you question his treatment. Amalgam fillings physically bother me, I had this discussion with the dentist as well as his office prior to treatment and was assured he did composite fillings. I had a tooth filled by him, during the procedure he had a heavy hand and midway to drilling I was told by Dr Lyons if I wanted amalgam to go elsewhere, REALLY!!! In the chair with my tooth drilled out. (So imagine him making you eat peanut butter if peanuts bother you). When I got home not only did I have an amalgam filling, when I looked in the mirror I noticed that my gum was purple, obviously bruised. I called his office and was told that is normal, to take a pain med and it would settle down. Normal, purple? It wasn't my first rodeo having a tooth filled. It took a while to for the gum to clear up, although I continued to have a continuous ache and the tooth was warm to the touch. I called the office and was again told the same thing, it would clear up. I had to have a different tooth extracted and decided to give this dentist a second chance, wrong move. I had initially told the dentist I was in an auto accident a few months prior, I was healing from TMJ as well as neck and back injuries. During the extraction he jerked my mouth sideways back and forth SEVERAL times with what felt like extreme force, a friend went in the room with me during the extraction, she was surprised and taken back. She said, WOW, he was very rough, he was obviously doing that on purpose. I ended up with a dry socket, painful, never had one before. I called the office, I went back twice to get the socket packed. The second time he couldn't get the cotton to stay in and told me my canal was to small, to gargle with Listerine and it would heal. The pain was keeping me up at night, I had been given his cell number, so I sent a text one night, I never received a response. I called his office, he called back and told me not to come back that he couldn't help me, then he sent a very unprofessional letter in the mail saying that he could not accommodate my needs to go elsewhere. I never imagined that this dentist could not help with a dry socket. I went to a different dentist office, the dentist able to do a treatment to the cavity from extraction, I went a few times and it finally healed after around three weeks. The tooth that Dr Lyons filled had already had a root canal. I was told by the new dentist office it was damaged during the filling procedure and it would cost $2,500 to $3,000 Thanks to Dr Lyons rough treatment and obvious lack of knowledge I had to have the tooth extracted. Find a different dentist, one who is knowledgeable and has some compassion, it is apparent Dr Lyons needs to retire... read more
