INTRO: I have edited this review twice, due to harassment and threats of suing me from Bob. He has requested I remove my reviews, as they are costing him business and potential clients. This is message is an attempt to cease all harassing messages from this point forth. This is a public request for Bob Arnold's office to quit contacting me, effective immediately. I am aware of our court case's result, and I intend to pay at the clerk's office, in full, within the 30 days allotted. Please leave me alone about my reviews and money. EDIT: I WOULD NOT USE BOB ARNOLD FOR CUSTODY HEARINGS! PREVIOUS EDIT: Bob's reply is absurd! I've added my recent lawyer's invoice statement, so Bob can see, compare, and try itemizing. Bob seemed disengaged from the moment we met. But he was kind & pleasant during our initial interaction. Bob told me he was a man of God, and he even bragged on the fact that he will never charge for any billing discrepancy conversation. I should've asked for a list of what he WOULD charge for. His word went out the window quick because while our inaugural meeting lasted 1 hours 10 minutes, I was certain I would only be billed for the hour. Bob stated he rounded down to the nearest 10 minute mark to help his clients. NEGATIVE. Bob billed me for 90 minutes instead. The total number of hours were off by a ridiculous amount of time on the final statement, compared to my calculations. Not only was the final statement never delivered, but I had to request it. That was months after finishing the mediation. Bob had already taken thousands from me. The highlight of my discrepancies was the 4.3 hours billed for our mediation. I was at the mediator's office for maybe 2.5 hours. Bob arrived late and swears the additional time was for standard legal work and procedures. The best way to sum up this unorganization and provide substantial evidence of his incoherence would be to post screenshots of two separate billings I've been sent regarding the final amount due. The first was the original I received in the spring, and the second was delivered to me in August. Bob requested I do an evaluation on him immediately after mediation ended. That was one of his legitimate concerns. He stated in that email from that day the things most important to him: He's a good listener and fought for me- NOT IN MY OPINION. He didn't compromise my goals- MY ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WAS COMPROMISED. That he was honest and fair in billing and prompt in returning calls- I NEVER COULD OBTAIN AN ITEMIZED, DETAILED BILL. BOB WILL RETURN MANY TEXTS AND CALLS, WITH AND WITHOUT CLIENTS PRESENT. IT NEVER FELT PERSONABLE, TO ME, UNLESS IT WAS ABOUT FINANCES. In February 2022, I filed a grievance with the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission, requesting an investigation of Bob Arnold, in relation to the inconsistent invoices I had received. It is my firm belief that my balance was current, when considering the work completed by Mr. Arnold's team. I also filed a claim to the Clients' Financial Assistance Fund Committee of the Indiana State Bar Association. In March 2022, Bob sued me for "failure to pay for legal services rendered." I countersued and went through the theatrics of a court hearing in the small town where Bob normally practices, never once having my counterclaim mentioned. Multiple times Bob told lies under oath. His testimony even began with a preposterous tale that he had represented me multiple times, including my divorce hearing. I ONLY had ONE custody case with Bob Arnold as my lawyer. I would HIGHLY recommend staying away from him if you're seeking legal representation in Indiana. I would shop out of state if he was the only lawyer practicing in Indiana. I don't have adequate words nor does this website allow enough characters for me to reiterate how passionately I believe that you're better off not hiring Bob Arnold to represent you. While not formally introduced, Robert Arnold served as my boyfriend's attorney in a custody battle in 2019. He did sign a contract and paid his bill except for the sum of $425 because he was billed for hours that did not exist. He tried to get an itemized copy of his bill to see what he was being charged for, but he specifically realized he was being charged for 2 extra hours the day of mediation. On that day, he was charged for 4.3 hours and mediation lasted for roughly 2 hours. Robert Arnold was late and made note of that to his client in text messages. After mediation, he asked his client to review his services on multiple review websites. When his client wrote an honest review of his experience with him, Robert wrote to him saying that he needed to take down his review saying it was slandering his name. He told his client that he would settle out of court for $425 if he removed the reviews. His client refused and Robert served him with a lawsuit for the remaining money, a small claims trial I attended with his client, on March 14, 2022. When we started the trial, his opening statement was that he served as his client's lawyer multiple times in a divorce case. This is false information as his client only hired him the one time and he has never been married. He also stated that the bill has never been changed and his client showed several invoices had been altered. Court found that his client must pay the remaining balance of $525.23 in 30 days and the trial was over. His client paid this on March 23, 2022. Bob Arnold reached out again because he claimed that the information on these reviewing websites is slanderous and costing him business. Robert told his client that he must remove the reviews or he will take him to court again. He has yet to stop harassing his client. Yet there are other people who have had the same experiences, but they are not being sued in the same way. In my opinion, it doesn't seem like it's worth the trouble, money, or stress to hire Bob Arnold as your lawyer. read more

I have emailed, called and text Bob Arnold and his staff numerous times asking for a detailed statement, but he keeps ignoring my requests. He has lost much of my files because of his lack of organizational skills. He would constantly ask for the same documents over and over. It got to the point of me telling him he is supposed to keep track of everything. He asked me for multiple retainers telling me its going to cost another couple of thousand dollars multiple times. He quoted it would cost little over the cost of my 1st retainer. I asked about a proposal that my ex wifes attorney offered that would have ended my divorce much sooner. I did not see that email mentioning the proposal until much later into the divorce, past all other emails that came after. I asked him about it in email and he never answered me. I had to find out after the divorce what my ex offered. It would have ended much sooner costing me much less. I kept every email we traded during the entire time. He could not answer me when I asked about the proposal my ex wifes attorney offered us. He is always on his phone texting or talking to other clients when he is on the clock for me! He will forget whats going on with me because of his lack of attention. He was always late to our meetings 2-3 hours and once never showing up at all! Being constantly late was what a home appraiser told me what he was good at! He decided he didn't want to represent me at my protective order and custody hearing case against my ex wife and instead sent his young attorney who knew nothing about my case to represent me. Bob told me his young Attorney knows my case very well and I am in good hands. James (the young attorney) met me at court and we are called to the stand and Bobs young attorney "James" leans over to me and admits to the court he knows little about my case. We come out of court and he mentions that he doesn't know anything about my case to me, my mother, daughter and a victims advocate who stood there listening to him. Bob flat out lied to me. He hurried me through my divorce mediation only to find out I ended up agreeing to a terrible deal! He said read it thoroughly and I was doing so and he looks at me and asks what page I am on. I tell him I am still on the first couple pages and he tells me to skip up to page 7. I should have not listened to him as he hurried me along. Both Bob and the mediator ,he chose, wanted to hurry up out of the office and be done. I wasn't, but I thought he made sure everything we agreed to was in the deal, but bob did not do it. He skimmed through the contract quickly and said its all good . He never paid attention to anything going on in my mediation, except other clients he was texting as we were supposed to counter an offer. Bob admitted to him needing to work on other clients while we were in the mediation. I asked him about my ex wifes full disclosure and was told by Bob he got everything from my ex. I find out after my divorce my ex wife had money and accounts she did not disclose. I kept record of everything and it does not come close to what he charged me. The list goes on and on just like his lies. He will respond to every negative review with an excuse. Hiring him was a horrible Idea. I was way over charged for his "services", if thats what you want to call it. Lied to and avoided when he screwed up royally. Lots of unethical things going on with his way of doing business. I gave him more than enough time to give me my detailed statement. He literally does not care about people, only pay day. I came in there in a desperate situation and taken advantage of. My ex and her attorney admitted it was easy dealing with Bob because he was so careless. I stayed just out of fear of my divorce. I did not want to start over with another Attorney. I wish I did now! All of these negative reviews left by other clients are only some of many out their. I kept record of every email conversation with Bob. I received a message about the proposal well past all the other emails that could have ended the divorce early. This is my sworn statement! read more

I am very unsatisfied with the work Robert J Arnold did. Bob wasn't very personable when it came to recalling us or our case. Occasionally, he seemed unfriendly when meeting with us. BOB EVEN HIGHLY SUGGESTED THAT MY BOYFRIEND AND I GET MARRIED BECAUSE IT WOULD LOOK BETTER FOR THE COURT CASE. IT WAS INAPPROPRIATE DUE TO US BEING NOWHERE NEAR READY FOR A HUGE COMMITMENT ONLY AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF DATING. The mediation for the custody case lasted about two hours, though we were billed for over four hours. Bob ran late for the mediation. We were over charged on our bill. We asked for itemized receipts multiple times before receiving one. The two separate invoices that were sent did not match up. We were sent harassing emails and texts about payment, while we were not in agreement on the work done and amount owed. We filed for monetary compensation though the Clients Financial Assistance Fund of the Indiana State Bar Association. The financial assistance fund was to cover the charges Bob claims we owe, even though he's clearly not charging us honestly/ correctly. We've also filed Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission forms to have him investigated. Bob took us to court and LIED about representing my significant other multiple times to the judge. Our hearing against Bob was a dud even though we counter sued Bob for the incorrect charges. Despite all of our proof and documentation, we lost against Bob Arnold. After the court date, he continues to email us about our poor reviews that supposedly cost him clientele and payment even though we were allotted thirty days. The entire experience was awful. Choose a lawyer that cares and will work with you if it seems there are billing discrepancies. Bob Arnold is NOT that lawyer. read more

I've seen and chatted with Bob at traffic courts for about 10-12 years as we both handle traffic cases but I had no real personal injury experience as an attorney but he did, so he helped my family out with the mediation on short notice and helped us attain a successful result. Where to start....I hired Arnold February 17, 2017 for help with my fathers estate. He quoted me a price for which he lead me to believe my case would not exceed that amount. I had issues getting this man to response to calls, texts and emails in a timely manner and when he did there was always an excuse for why he hadn't done what he originally told me he would do. It took him more than 6 weeks to file and establish the estate in which he told me it would only take about 1 - 1/2 weeks to do. It was filed on April 10, 2017. He never filed the legal advertisement with in the first 30 days of establishing the estate. My new attorney had to do it which made the estate have to be kept open an additional 90 days longer than needed to be. I fired him June 30, 2017 and it took him 3 weeks to withdraw from my case (July 20, 2017 approx.) Now after firing him he wants me to pay him an additional amount that more than doubles the original quote. For work he did not do. Be very careful if you decide to use him. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. read more

Bob assisted us greatly in dealing with my mother-in-laws affairs both before and after her passing. He is willing to meet to discuss matters and manage paperwork virtually any time and any place. I don't know how anyone makes it through the Byzantine rules of Medicaid and guardianship without an attorney who knows how these things work. read more

I just finished a divorce case with Bob. It was a very volatile case that included domestic abuse, protective order issues, and bankruptcy issues. There were a lot of difficult situations along the way, but Bob was always available to answer my questions. If he could not speak with me immediately, he would promptly return my calls and was wonderful at guiding me through every step, no matter how difficult the circumstances. His knowledge of the court system is extensive, which is unsurprising considering his experience. In court, Bob was always one step ahead of the opposing counsel, and was ready for anything. Bob and his staff were attentive and helpful, always making sure that my needs were addressed. Due to the circumstances of my marriage and divorce, I suffered from a decent amount of mental and emotional difficulty.
