I called to see about bringing my daughter in. The lady on the phone asks what kind of insurance I have. I state it is a PPO and name the insurance company. She said we are not contracted with them - you will have to pay up front. How much is a consult? "About $140". I try to explain that a PPO pays even if you are not contracted, it is just a lesser percentage. She said no we only take ..... How can a front office person not know how a PPO works? read more

I was referred to this doctor by my primary doctor and I scheduled appointment which took around a month to see the doctor, he gave me two creams for my skin issue and said you will see some improvement in few days and he called me 4 days after my visit and I told him I don't see any improvement, he gave some new advices and asked me to continue using them and schedule new appointment but new appointment scheduled for around 30 days and my skin situation got worse than ever and I called to talk to doctor about my skin emergency but his assistance said I can not talk to doctor and she talks on behalf of doctor and I have to continue the medications and wait for the appointment I said my skin is getting worse and I can't sleep during the night I never have this issue before I have to talk to doctor directly it's emergency and medications hurting my skin but she said again doctor does't talk to patient and I have to wait to see doctor on my scheduled appointment I called again couple of days later and left a message to doctor and told his assistance again I need to talk the doctor but he didn't call me back I was so sad and left alone with my pain and issue and couple of days after that I receive letter from dr Robert Jordan which said he does't want to see me and I have to find another dermatologist which is not professional way to leave your patient alone after giving medication and your patients reports a serious issue and wants to talk to you directly!!! read more

Dr. Jordan himself seems nice and like he knows what he's doing. However, the same cannot be said of his staff. The two receptionists in the front couldn't agree on how much I owed them...even though I have insurance, they take my insurance, and I had my insurance card with me and have gone to them before (where payment wasn't a problem). One of the receptionists was convinced that they don't take my insurance so I was charged as an out of pocket client, meaning I was charged a ton of money. In the end, it turned out that she had been looking at the wrong file the whole time...even though I kept telling her that I was covered, she didn't bother to verify that she was looking at the correct information. We had a 2:40 appt for my 80 year old mother to take a look at the sores on her legs. She cant walk well or drive. We left Ojai with an hour to spare for a 30 min drive. Unfortunately hwy 33 was closed for a movie. We called to let them know we would be a little late. We got there 21 minutes late and the doctor would not see her. They said 20 minutes late and we reschedule you! Nobody in the waiting room! A day off work, a day wasted. So not cool. We will not reschedule, no compassion in this office. read more

Had a wonderful experience today. He and his staff were friendly. Did not have to wait more than 5 min to get out of the front office then less than 5 min in the exam room. He was very sympathetic and kind. Diagnosed my issues. Quickly removed a little cyst on my face. He plans on seeing me through my skin until it is healed. How refreshing! I am so thankful that I never have to return to this office. Dr. Jordan never spent more than 4 minutes actually talking to me , the patient. Yes, I decided to time it using a timer during my last two or three visits. All he did was throw various antibiotics at me, which is not what I wanted. I cannot stand doctors who just throw antibiotics at you until it makes you sick and the problems still have not been solved. I will never recommend this business to friends and family, not due to Dr. Jordan's lack of availability, but because of the woman that runs the front desk. Especially rude and, like other comments, refuses to give her name or help clients. Hangs up the phone before the patient is done talking and should never work in a job that involves customer service again. Competent doctors are great; outstanding doctors should get public praise, so: Dr. Jordan is one of the kindest, most helpful doctors I have had. Despite his patient load, he saw me quickly as a new patient and performed a minor in-office surgery the day after Christmas. I went to Dr. Jordan because it was so close to my house but soon realized I made the best decision ever! I was starting to get embarrassed by my ugly psoriasis but he made me feel so comfortable. Within just 20 minutes I was in and out! I used the medication prescribed and within days everything was cleared up. If your insurance is accepted at his office, you'd be crazy to go to any other Dr. And even if your insurance is not accepted, and you need a good doctor, see him anyways. I'm sure he'd work out a cash deal with you. Dr Jordan is as good as they get. He is very professional, knows what he is doing, and is not an egg-head scientist like most doctors. He's a very friendly and personable guy. You can clearly see this when you walk into his office. I have been seeing him for years for Lipoma removals. This time around, I called to make an appointment with him on Monday ( Columbus Day ). When I told them what insurance I had, I had changed plans since my last visit, they told me that their contract with that insurance was up 3 days later on 10-15-2015. They squeezed me in at 3:30pm, the same day I called, for the consult, and Dr Jordan scheduled my surgery 2 days later on Wednesday 10-14-2015. He even said he'd come in on his day off, if he had to, so my insurance would cover the surgery. What doctor would do that?! Thanks Dr Jordan!! And he removed 7 Lipomas in 60 minutes. I have seen Dr. Jordan off and on for years. He has been very helpful and very congenial. However, last year I was told by office staff that I had a balance of $60 that had been outstanding for a long time--and I would have to pay cash for the visit. I had received no bill or late notice for the $60--but I needed to see the doctor, so I was wiling to pay balance and price of visit (to be later reimbursed by my PPO). One day before my appointment I received a (certified) letter saying that I was a no-show, and the doctor would no longer continue to see me. No show? I did not miss an appointment...Outstanding balance, what? Pay cash when I have insurance? ..Office staff, especially the younger woman was extremely arrogant and rude. I have been thinking they were rude for a long time--but now I read these other reviews I see randomness and unprofessionalism is a running theme for this office. What a shame. read more

Dr. Jordan himself is good, but his front office staff is rude and not very accommodating. They also over book so he is ALWAYS at least 45 minutes late. My daughter was leaving the country and I called to see if I could get a refill on her script, well they didn't have an appointment to see her until after she was gone. It's not like this is a narcotic, Could they not have refilled just to get her through until she returned, (two weeks later)? Then I get home to find a letter they will not see her (my daughter) anymore because she "no showed" an appointment that I clearly told the front office she would not be in the country for. REALLY? I just wanted to share how great Dr Jordan, my dermatologist, is. I count him as one of my best doctors ever (and I've seen a lot.) He always goes the extra mile for his patients. He is professional, but very full of compassion and caring. He has treated me from my heels to my head, and it's always good. If you are looking for a dermatologist, he's the one! And his office is always a joy to behold--the furnishings (gorgeous antiques) and the art work (everything from Star Wars to baseball to pop icons) are so welcoming. Very disappointed with a first visit to this doctor. With a family history of Melanoma, any many atypical moles removed my son sees a dermatologist every six months. Due to an insurance change, we went to see Dr. Jordon and he made my 18 year old son feel like he was wasting the doctors time. Definately will find another doctor on his new insurance! read more

I was kept waiting outside the office for an hour. 45 minutes after the office is supposed to open a staff member finally arrives. Since he hasn't bothered acknowledging me I asked what happened as my appointment was 45 minutes ago. The doctor has apparently gotten sick, which I can understand, but then why just the night before was my appointment was confirmed? and why does that mean the receptionist comes in 45 minutes late? I got a 'We called people this morning'. I checked and had got a message-- 15 minutes before my appointment when I was already outside waiting. I then get told 'So does next Wednesday work?' without any offer of compensation, any apology. Very unprofessional. I wont be coming back. I've been seeing Dr. Jordan every couple years to keep an eye on any trouble spots with my skin. I've always thought he was very compassionate, energetic and a great communicator about my skin issues. But, recently, I think he may have saved my life. I went in to see him with a strange red lump on my jaw. At first glance, he said it was most likely one of two things and one of those was serious so should be treated immediately, just in case. It did turn out to be MRSA and I'm SO thankful for his ability to diagnose it quickly. I've spoken to several medical professionals since that have been very impressed with his knowledgeable diagnosis since MRSA can be tricky to spot. The MRSA was difficult to deal with but I was under excellent care. Dr. Jordan checked on me every few days and was concerned for my healing but also wanted to try to make me as comfortable as possible during the process. Over the years, I've sent many friends and family to Dr. Jordan but now I appreciate him even more and tell anyone I can. A really good doctor is a valuable resource and asset. My husband and I could not be more pleased than with Dr.Jordan. We have barely waited more than 5 minutes with our appointments. He is a most caring and compassionate doctor and the BEST in town in our opinion. My husband had a very bad melanoma on his ear about 3 years ago. He removed it and the scar has shrunk and it is not noticeable at all. He did a marvellous and thorough job. He has a great bedside manner (or office manner) and we feel like he is our friend. Dr. Jordan was fine and his service of removing a skin cancer, professional. However, I was given a return appointment for November 26, 2014 (today) by a lady in the office. This is a 40 mile round trip for me. When I got there, the girl behind the desk told me that the doctor is not in on Wednesdays (today) and that my next appointment would be December 9th. I have a card written by Doctor's wife, showing appointment to be November 26th...If Mrs. Jordan is the office manager, she needs to get her act together...I don't appreciate driving all the way over there and being told I had no appointment. He was excellent in treating my very skeptical and nervous 9 year old daughter's skin condition.
