I could not have had a better experience. It was my first surgery ever so I was really nervous but Dr. Israelsen was so nice and comforting. My boyfriend made a couple calls post-op on some minor questions and everybody was so nice and willing to answer everything. Dr. Israelsen even gave me a call later giving me his cell phone number in case I had any questions. I'll definitely recommend them to any friends and family looking for an oral surgeon.

My name is Brendan. Dr Baldwin forever altered my life in Feb 2011 and May 2011…read more I had two surgeries from the "doctor" Kenneth Baldwin. The first one was to fix a broken Condyle, a normal jaw break, except for the fact that it was broken on a 45 degree angle and "couldn't be plated" so instead of doing anything he simply placed the broken bone back in the socket and wired me shut. He then removed the wires after two weeks and told me to wear multiple sets of RUBBER BANDS in my braces as a replacement for titanium wire. He had taken a CT two days after the initial surgery, and knew it slipped out, however ignored it and scheduled a second surgery the day after I graduated high school four months later. For a very experienced medical practitioner to proceed to crush my Cranial Nerve VII (this controls your eye, eyebrow, and mouth) and proceed to kill it shows a level of incompetence rarely seen in medicine. In the mean time, all he did was scrape Osteocytes (bone spurs) off the golf ball size piece of bone that was now my joint. That gap that Baldwin deemed unimportant and left alone filled with bone. I now had a medical anomaly he proceeded to aggravate and leave scar tissue everywhere. I was left with a dysmorphic mass that would no longer slide into place. I woke up to the sound of him trying to whisper to my mother not to overreact that half my face didn't work but "might return to some function". When my mother asked Baldwin if this issue had ever happened to him before where the nerve did not regenerate, and he confidently said that they always regenerate. She pushed further and asked if ANYONE had ever not regenerated their facial movements and he finally admitted that one person had not. Well, I guess that makes me the second, as I never regained any function. This man has an inability to admit when a problem is above his pay grade and truly, irrevocably, ruined the life I once had. This is not considered a difficult oral surgery. People get jaws set all the time, this was a hairline fracture that turned into a total jaw replacement with ongoing nerve damage all over my face. I was an athlete, that was my identity, and in 2011 Kenneth Baldwin stole that from me, killed that potential on the operating floor. I lived and still do live in a state of constant agony every day and had four more surgeries to fix Baldwin's mistakes costing my family hundreds of thousands of dollars. It has taken me a decade to have the courage to do this. GET A SECOND OPINION.

Dr Hopkin did a great job explaining everything I needed done as well as aftercare. He was super personable and professional. I saw my new dentist.... ( my old dentist retired) he explained a few things to me about using 3 d printers and taking pictures instead of using a mold which makes impressions. my dentist told me to chuck it. as a result of the hopkins nightguard, i had to see an oral surgeon. two of my teeth front bottom were severely damaged and had to be pulled. I have to have implants and bone graft. My teeth were fine until i placed his  nightguard in my mouth. from the first time i used his nightguard, my bottom two teeth hurt. He told me they would be fine. the nightguard he made was too tight and never fit right. I went through countless adjustments. I wish i had never gone to him. I had many nightguards made for my mouth, and never once did i have these kinds of problems. It was pointed out to me, why would an oral surgeon be making nightguards. From my first encounter with Hopkin, he examined my old nightguard and said it was worn out and i needed a new one. Well, he was wrong. It wasnt worn out. And since chucking the awful one he made me, i am back using the one he said was worn out. My new dentist even said it was still good.  His office insurance person called medicare to check out my insurance. she came back and said that medicare would cover my nightguard. She said i had real good insurance.  All I can say now, is read the reviews. When someone writes a negative review ask yourself why they would spend the time if what they were saying hadnt happened.

He walked me through the entire process and post-op visits, and he's a genuinely nice, easygoing person who communicates clearly and puts you at ease. His office was also very accommodating, especially considering I traveled from out of state for the surgery. This would have been a 5/5 experience, but unfortunately I ran into issues with the office handling the required paperwork for state disability benefits. Despite following up more than 15 times via email and phone and receiving multiple assurances that it would be taken care of, the paperwork was never filed, which resulted in me losing my state disability benefits (up to $1000). While the office handled my medical insurance and short-term disability insurance without issues, state disability paperwork seems to be different, and this part was not managed successfully. I feel little sorry for them because of so much paperwork they had to do for my case, and they are not used to work with different states disability benefits, but I tried my best for them providing all the neccessary information and help them to file necessary papers. From a surgical and clinical standpoint, I highly recommend Dr. Stosich. I just wish the administrative side, particularly state disability paperwork, had been handled with the same level of care. I was a bit of a special case coming from out of state, so I don't expect most patients to have issues on the administrative side.

The crown came off in 2022ish while I was in Montana and I had it replaced by a local Montana dentist. At my next scheduled cleaning and every cleaning since I told the village dental staff, Dr Rauch and then Dr Purdue of pain in that tooth. They thought the pain was caused by the crown being incorrectly replaced with to much cement, resulting in it being to tall. They ground the crown down a bit and sent me on my way. Finally I made an appointment in early December 2024 to have the ever increasing pain addressed. Dr. Purdue recommended a crown on the opposing tooth in my upper jaw and said he would make it a little shorter so the 2 teeth would not compress so tightly while eating. In fairness that tooth did need a crown regardless but after it was installed the pain was still getting worse. I insisted on another X-Ray which showed a dark shadow surrounding the affected tooth of my lower jaw at which point they referred me to an Endodontist. The Endodontist said the shadow was a void in my jaw caused by an infection which had eaten away the bone. He referred me to an oral surgeon who removed the infected tooth and the neighboring tooth which did not have enough bone around it to remain viable. I am now waiting for a bone graft to get dense enough for implants. The bottom line for me is my complaints regarding pain were ignored or explained away for roughly 2 years. I believe if the Village dental staff or doctors had referred me to specialists after failing to eliminate my pain, the teeth could have been saved.
