Mishra and Mishra is a Neurologist office which moved to Elm Street in McLean. My doctor was Navid Mostofi. I went to their office to determine why my right hand was numb as I thought it was carpal tunnel. It turns out that I probably have MS. You would think that at a neurologist office they would keep everything stress-free but Wendy is a ball of angriness that needs to be reigned in. My first negative encounter with her was when I had muscle/nerve spasms due to steroid withdrawal that they had me on. I called the advice nurse who scheduled me in the same day. I guess the advice nurse failed to call my doctor to tell him I was coming because when I walked in the office, Wendy started yelling at me that I did not have an appointment today and why I was in the office. When I told her the lady fit me in due to my severe back pain at 3:15, she said that the lady wasn't allowed to do that. I dismissed her attitude towards me because I was in too much pain. she then tried ti diagnose my problem as she was taking my vitals (mind you she is a medical asst./receptionist) and said I probably had a urinary tract infection!!!! WTF!!! I did get to see my doctor who correctly diagnosed me as having back spasms. My most recent experience is still ongoing as I had an appointment scheduled for this past Tuesday at 10 am. Wendy called me at Monday night at 7:30pm to cancel my appointment for the next day by leaving me a message. I did not get the message as I was knocking on the door Tuesday morning with no one at the office. I called the answering service who confirmed there was an appointment and they didnt even know why the office was closed. They called the sister office and the doctor directly and received no answer. I left a message with the answering service that I would be there today at 10 am. I called the doctor office today as I was driving to my new appointment and spoke to WENDYYYYYYYYYY. When I told her my name and that my appoinemnt was cancelled without proper notification she told me that she called me and that my doctor,Mostofi, no longer worked there . . . on the day I am to find out if I have MS, he quits and no one bothers to tell me?????? It has been a month of tests, taps, outpatient procedures and the day I am to find out what is wrong me she gives me attitude because she decided to call me at 7:30 the night before I am to arrive.? Of course I am pissed and per her was yelling at her. She then lied and said that that original message she left me told me that Mostofi no longer worked there which was not true. When I told her that this is the 2nd time that I had to deal with her attitude and reminded her of the time she trued to diagnose me, she hung up on me. So I called back to let her know that someone was going to see me today and that I would be there at 10 am . . . her response was that she was going to have me escorted from the building then she said she was going to call the police then when I told her that I would sure her if she laid a hand on me she hung up. So I called back. . . .by this time I think Dr. Mishra heard her yelling at me on the phone so he agreed to see me today. When she answered the first thing she said was Dr. Mishra will give you your results. I said thank you and hung up. Ten minutes later Dr. Mishra called me from his personal cell phone and explained that he could help me and would be able to give me my results. He asked how Wendy was rude and specifically asked was it her tone as if she has been reprimanded about her tone before and I explained the entire conversation to him. I will see him tomorrow and get my results but cannot trust an office that would hire someone so unprofessional as WENDY!!!!!! She is a liability to his office and practice.

No complaints---EVER---and he's been needed often. I must definitely add that his wonderful nurse, Wendy, has also been nothing but kind, warm-hearted, and shows great care. Her cheerfulness makes office visits relaxing and reassuring. She is knowledgeable in her field and wants nothing but the best for you.What a great person she is!! I would highly recommend Dr Mishra with no hesitation! So glad for finding him!

I've recently been plagued with lower GI issues so I was referred to Capital Digestive by a good…read morefriend. However, they apparently merged with Metropolitan. My initial office visit and consultation was with Dr. Jessica Korman at 10215 Fernwood Road, Bethesda location - was very unsettling, and to make it even worse, she was 1.5 hours late. *Note - this practice does not validate your parking ticket* Then, Dr. Korman rushed through my medical records I'd brought with me, she told me nothing I couldn't have found on WebMD. It seems her sole purpose was to get me scheduled for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy, yet she never once during our 7 minute consultation examined me - not even lifted up my blouse and touched my stomach. So it begs to wonder why she wanted to do an endoscopy to begin with. Needless to say, the appointment I scheduled for the upper and lower procedures - I cancelled as soon as I got home. Maybe the other Doctors in the practice were better - but I was too scared to find out. I decided to go with a GI doc from Johns Hopkins and she was did a complete workup before she scoped me, found the problem in my lower GI and now I'm good as new.

I've visited the office twice and both times Dr. Marmon failed to mention that my son will need clearances from anesthesia and neurosurgery, but he wrote it in his note. I asked him about it and he said it's fine and that he'll contact those specialties directly and discuss my son's case. I had nothing to worry about, so I thought. So my son was scheduled for surgery today; however, it was cancelled last minute. The only way I found out about the cancellation was after several phone calls. Smh. Two days ago I called and the office staff told me everything was good to go and someone will call me the day before surgery to inform of a time. That call never happened.

They called me back with test results from a pap, I…read morecalled them back, and was on hold for 10+ minutes waiting to hear the results, with multiple people picking up the phone and making me repeat why I was calling. The next week they called me AGAIN regarding the same results, which totally freaked me out, thinking they had found something wrong if they were calling me again. The lady said that, no, she just hadn't realized I had already gotten the call about my results. It didn't exactly inspire confidence in the office's organization. Worse, the person informing me of my test results was not very clear, and the second time gave me conflicting information about the same test! Totally unnecessarily nerve-wracking and frightening experience. During my visit the doctor also asked me very personal questions with his office door open and within earshot of office staff and waiting patrons. Unprofessional, improper regard for patient privacy, in my opinion. Now I am trying to get this office to transfer my records to another doctor. They said you have to send in a request form for them to do this, and they said they would email me the form. Of course...no e-mail. Now I need to take time out of my work day to call AGAIN to get the request form. All I want is to transfer to another doctor and get as far away from these people as possible.

Dr. Filipescu operated on my only fallopian tube, which was badly scarred, and I was pregnant within a year after the surgery. Like another reviewer said, he is old school and some younger people may not like that. However, he has always been very professional and honest. I can understand that some folks may not think he is particularly "friendly," but I don't need another friend, I need a doctor who knows his business ... and he certainly does!! I have also been seen by his daughter, Dr. DiPaolo and I am equally pleased with her. In fact, my "miracle baby" is now 19 years old and will be having her first GYN visit with these doctors very soon. I would not trust anyone else with my precious daughter.

Care Quality Office Experience…read moreDr. Panahy had been my primary care physician for most of the 28 years I've been with Kaiser Permanente. I found her care to be excellent. She always spoke to me at length regarding my health and was always on top of whatever test, labs or Rx's I needed. Dr. Panahy was an excellent physician - caring, cooperative, informative and spent time with you despite the requisite 20 mins. that was usually mandated for appointments. I will miss her and when I think of excellent physician, I think of her. RIP. Andrea Sommer

Dr. Panahy has been my primary care doctor since 2004. Her practice has grown a lot since then -…read morelast I heard, she's no longer accepting new patients. I usually have to schedule my physicals a month or two in advance, and if I'm sick and need to get seen that day, I almost always have to settle for someone else in the practice. I usually don't have to wait long to be seen, and the practice seems to run fairly efficiently, aside from a recent frustration in getting a prescription refill. I find my annual checkups very helpful. Maybe it's just that I'm not trying to swaddle myself in a paper jacket and wrap - they usually give me a cloth gown. The office seems to schedule at least 30 minutes for annual checkups. Dr. Panahy is thorough, easy to talk to, and never seems rushed. She takes time to explain things, is well-informed, and is gentle during exams. She's been flexible with writing referrals, prescriptions for nonessential stuff like allergy meds and daily vitamins, and refilling prescriptions from specialists. The followup is fairly standard. If my labwork is normal, I get a letter in two weeks or so telling me the results. Dr. Panahy does call to discuss abnormalities. I haven't seen Dr. Panahy for any acute conditions, so I don't have a good feel for how she does with diagnosis. The other physicians in the office are okay.
