Throughout my case, there was so much miscommunication that I was left without a clear understanding of what my sentence would actually involve and what would be expected of me. I repeatedly felt that my concerns were not taken seriously, my questions were not properly answered, and important details about my plea, probation, and license were not clearly explained to me. I often had to chase down answers myself and do my own research just to understand what was happening with my own case. When I did speak with my attorney, I often felt talked down to and treated as though my questions were a burden. I expected professional communication and patience, especially considering the amount of money I paid for representation. For $5,000, I expected someone who would communicate with me, prepare me, explain my options, listen to my concerns, and actually advocate for me. Instead, I felt like my case was treated as though it wasn't important. Quite honestly, I feel I would have received the same level of attention from a free public defender--and at least then I wouldn't have paid $5,000 expecting personalized legal representation. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. I would not recommend this firm to anyone who expects their attorney to communicate with them, treat them with respect, answer their questions, and genuinely advocate for their interests. $5,000 is a significant amount of money. My dwi was always in question as I wasn't the driver my wife was and I was walking when I got pulled over ,so his personal injury lawyer actually about 4 of them, new 1 at every court date, I kept telling them I wasn't driving, I ended up with a 1st time trial lawyer, Kevin obrien. The Da offered me a 6-3 misdemeanor but my license would be suspended, so Tom anelli promised me he had a guy that discredited all breathalyzer and the fact was I wasn't driving, we go to trial, not with any real lawyer, I went with a personal injury lawyer Tom annelli appointed to me, now it was like the 5th lawyer he pawned me off on but he couldn't waste his time, the DA put up 2 days of lies from police officers that knew I had a weak lawyer, it came to my defense and he declined. I said what are you doing? We have proof they are lying and I wasn't driving, if we put no defense the jury is going to convict me, the judge told me to sit down. 15 mins later I was guilty. 1-3 years in state prison instead of 3 months county. After that they promised they would help me get my license back. I was 32 years old when he scammed me and I'm 50 now still with no license and its ruined my career many times. Just a heads up. Tom Anelli ruined my life. Think about that when you hire him and he sends you a first case lawyer and demands 10s of thousands of dollars. He never helped me with anything other than going to prison, losing my wife and never driving again.
