As first time buyers, Suki literally hand held us through the process. Here's how it went: - Before even looking at the houses, Suki coached us on the SF buying journey. Neighbourhoods, comps, disclosures, bank processes etc., It took hours and Suki was patient through all of it. We went from not knowing what "pre-qualification" meant to assessing if a house was a good/bad flip in a quick scan. - Throughout the search (which lasted for weeks), she helped us assess all the houses in the market if they are a fit for our specific needs, budget, and long term viability. Suki was always available (sometimes even responding before i finish typing :)) - THIS IS KEY!!! During offers, she consistently dissuaded us from making emotional/rash decisions. Suki was the counter balance and voice of reason. Always brought down the discussion to objective facts and numbers when we were being swayed by emotion. - I think Suki knows every agent in the bay area. While placing offers, Suki's network was very helpful. It made sure we stayed in the game till the last moment. - Every house needs a different strategy to close. Pre-emptive offers, during the day, creative financial approaches etc., Suki guided us through all of it. - CHERRY ON THE TOP!!! After close, Suki helped us meet a couple of neighbours before moving in, to make sure we feel home very quickly. As buyers, all we want to make sure is that we aren't making a wrong decision. To avoid regret of commission (overpaying for a house) and regret of omission (missing out on a house). That's where Suki really helped us. I've consistently seen her guide us away from placing emotional offers on a few homes. Even though it would have helped her, she went against it and prioritized our long term happiness in the home. After interviewing 4 candidates, we selected Team Howe to be our buyer's agent because of their extensive experience in the market we were interested in, because of their attention to detail, their willingness to negotiate about price, and the examples they provided in pointing out red flags to previous buyers. Also, very important for us, we wanted someone honest and reliable who wouldn't cut corners, and we got that in Team Howe. Sherri assigned an excellent primary agent to us who was patient, thorough and reliable, while she and her team provided additional expertise where needed. As a combined team, they were always available. With her extensive experience, Sherri was able to provide more background to some of the pros and cons we found in properties we were considering, and was crucial in pointing out the irregularities in a TIC agreement we were considering. After our positive experience as buyers, we retained Team Howe as seller's agent for our previous place. Even before we had moved out of our previous place, Sherri and her team got to work and got all the contractors in back-to-back on one day for quotes.
