Please note that they do not carry oat milk version of Karl Fazer chocolatees. I came in around 1000 in the morning, and it wasn't crowded at all. The flagship store is absolutely beautiful. I had a coffee with soy milk that was delicious, and I enjoyed sitting outside while I peoole watched. CC accepted

And Karl Fazer is famous for being a chocolatier, so Fazer chocolate is a must try, too. Fortunately for me, Karl Fazer Cafe was located right across from my hotel, so I had easy access to chocolate and coffee here. The cafe was very popular, and what's nice is that they are open the entire day, serving meals or something lighter. They also have a chocolate shop on one side of the cafe that you can grab and go. For one of my visits here, I tried the geisha dessert, which is a specialty, along with a Fazer mocha. They were both good, and I was pleasantly surprised that the geisha dessert was a mix of chocolate and hazelnut since the lilac color threw me off, so was afraid it would be a fruity dessert. But it turned out to be better than expected. Another visit, I tried the cinnamon bun, which was solid. It wasn't the best in town, but solid - and definitely better than anything I'd ever get back home. If you're in Helsinki, Karl Fazer is a name you'll hear - and you'll need to try the famous chocolate and pay a visit to the first cafe of the country. It's easily walking distance to many sites as it's in the city center, and has outdoor seating. Glad to have checked out a place of Finnish history.

If you are looking for a nice cafe to hang out in Helsinki then this is the place to go. I have…read moretried a lot of cafes around here and this is by far on the top of my list. Not only are the owners and the baristas extremely nice, helpful and friendly, but the whole atmosphere is. It doesn't get too loud or feel too crowded ever, since the space is big and the ceilings are high. They have decorated the place beautifully with large plants and stylish furniture. Their coffee is great! Cappuccinos and lattes are always professionally made and their espresso is very good. It is also not expensive compared to most of Helsinki. Their pastries, cakes and sandwiches are very good and they definitely put a lot of thought into the stuff they offer. They offer a breakfast special in the morning, including a very traditional nordic oatmeal, with coffee and juice and it's very nice. You can also choose yogurt (and vegan yogurt!) instead of the oatmeal. Very nice! At lunchtime they offer a great lunchbuffet. It's a bit pricey but I bet it's worth it cause the food looks very good. All in all, I would say this place is very vegan friendly! They always have one vegan sandwich, and most of the time they offer some type of vegan pastry, like a vegan munkki or korvapuusti (donut and cinnamon roll). They have Oatly for the coffee of course. They also have ice cream that with vegan flavors.

The cakes are so great and the coffee is up to scratch! The cafe lattes seem to be their specialty…read more Cakes include macarons and a Finnish version of the Cronut. I tried a chocolate mouse cake. The decor is light and minimal. I came in the afternoon and there didn't seem to be any substantial food offerings besides salads and bread. A nice place to meet friends or work acquaintances for coffee.

Porvoo isn't that big a place, especially on the off-season when it's colder. But it's a nice day…read moretrip from Helsinki, with a cute neighborhood and chapel. Walking around the town doesn't take too long (2 hours), so it's nice to have a place to kill some time/get out of the cold/heat, and grab some nice coffee/drink and kick up your legs. This GEM of a cafe/bar is right under the main overpass/road into town. The downstairs area is bustling and cozy, but the upstairs area is the really cute place so I definitely recommend everyone to go up there to check it out after you get your wine/coffee/etc. It's got a great wooden decor inside, a really romantic vibe, but I could see it getting my happening at night/on the weekend nights. There were seriously like 3 couples on coffee dates there. I've heard the coffee here is great but didn't have any, just had a nice glass of red wine. One thing I'd say is that it gets really crowded/long line when a big crowd walks in, they should probably figure out an easier way to serve people. BTW, this place was listed in Lonely Planet, and normally I don't love all their suggestions but this place is definitely worthy, especially for a smaller town like this.
