To the Executive Director,…read more It is with great enthusiasm that I write to apply for the internship at CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) New Orleans. My belief is that CASA New Orleans offers me a great opportunity as it provides a wide range of social experiences in conjunction with a great training program. I have never thought of anything more fulfilling than making sure a child has protection, is treated with dignity, and learns and grows in the safe embrace of a loving family. Society has a fundamental obligation to ensure the basic rights and needs of every child are met, and CASA volunteers are a formidable force that fights for these rights. I if given the chance I will use my objective, which is to build and use my leadership skills in my best interest to help abused and neglected children in court. I'm currently majoring in Child Care and Development at Delgado Community College and will receive my degree this year. This will help me in my field by knowing how to understand and relate to a variety of children's mindsets and behaviors. I consider myself to be creative and outgoing with excellent communication skills , which will help me build and maintain a healthy relationship with all ages of children and my co-workers. I enjoy interacting with a diverse group of people and collaborating new ideas to improve my work environment. My background of experience, schoolwork, and volunteer activities indicates how I will make a valuable intern. I've always been very engaged in my environment. Being in different social organizations such as Key Club, ROTC, and Be Real I have helped better my community. In Key Club I raise money for the well-being of children. In Be Real's organization, which I'm still an active member in, makes sure every child stays focus and on the right path to graduate from either high school or college. In ROTC we trained cadets helped volunteer around the community at nursing homes, hospitals, and visited the library every weekend to read to the little kids. My experience of foster care and how I excelled towards my success determines that I will make sure every single child will thrive throughout their childhood and adulthood. The possibility of joining your company interests me because I had a CASA worker when I grew up in the foster care system, which is another reason why I have an advantage on knowing what kids really want and need. I am very familiarized with CASA New Orleans, and I had also helped with expanding the network of CASA by broadcasting on the radio and live television. I am committed to giving my best to any situation, having a full approach and would relish any situation where I was working with like-minded people. I am intrigued and excited about helping with the rights of children. I look forward to interning with CASA New Orleans and hope to hear from you soon.

They had the audacity to tell me that when I go to my local yet different location, which has always been courteous, polite and patient, that I do not get charged $8 to send ground USPS but instead they told me I would get charged $20 for the same option. The man proceeded to tell me to go elsewhere and that he didn't care where I go. That they don't ever charge that up charge he keeps referring to, that the prices I told him when I politely asked him to be sure because (UPS locations) does not "up charge as a courtesy". So here I am making sure everyone knows that they are ripping people off and do not have a good business model at this location. Sadly, each location is privately owned which likely explains the awful customer service and conversation. I made sure to tell him I didn't care, that he doesn't care. Yet, I do care about my Yelp community and sincerely ask that you reconsider when approaching this location. They are ripping all of us off.
