I had started taping the 9 P.M. news to run through the baloney and many obnoxious commercials they show. They started the same nonsense at 10 P.M. too. Last night after trying to find any weather report about the storm coming our way the next day past 10 P.M. with a comedy playing on Channel 8. I changed to another station for good last night. If you want BS watch channel 8. If you want real time weather, get a Barometer. Chet W.

Back then there was no HD version. It was just a generic non remote controlled TV and my favorite characters. I even learned how to count to ten in Spanish. That knowledge has come in very handy throughout the years. Now my own kids watch the informative children's shows and Big Bird is still relevant. As an adult I no longer care for the kid shows, but do regularly watch the specials on New Orleans, John Besh's New Orleans, and Chef Paul Pruhdohmme's cooking show. In summary, I have learned a lot from channel 12 and I am forever grateful that it's around.

Bacchus still went into the Rivergate (RIP) and Krewe of Clones was still parading. Seriously WYES does some great local programming, including the bizarrety that is the Meeting of the Courts on Mardi Gras night. Ooh! And John Besh cooking on Justin Wilson's old set. Love! AND they bring me the national PBS shows like Antiques Roadshow, Nature, and Sesame Street...because sometimes you just want to hang out with Grover.
