Though the company is new. The team is made of guys with plenty of experience. I hired Bonilla…read moreroofing to do a large (over 10,000 sqft) complex/custom project on my home. There were numerous transitions and surfaces changing in pitch and several hundred feet of ridge line. I stressed that quality was important for me. I did not want any short-cuts or sloppy work and use the best materials as required to get great results. They responded with a quote quickly. Their price was competitive Keep in mind your hiring the people doing the work not the guys with the biggest signs on billboards that never get on the roof. The man quoting the work will be doing the work. That is very valuable to me. they were able to work with my timeframe too. Through the project (to their surprise) I climbed all over the roof several times carrying bundles of shingles or other materials and assessing the workmanship from 2 feet away. I'm an engineer. That's right, the worst people to do work for, and I never even one time had a comment for them to fix something. In fact the owner, who gets on the roof and works all day, came to me to ask if they could redo a section he was not pleased with at his expense because the sun had melted the materials making them not look perfect. This meant they would have to come back an additional day to work in the near 100 degree august heat. Their cut lines are straight, the overhangs are consistent, they feather in the ridge shingles like they should. they stop and replace things that don't look right, they do a great job flashing in valleys and running straight ridges, they use caulk in all the places that need it. They even come back after it's all done to check in on how the shingles settled in with the sun! It's your roof and your money. Hire a marketing company if you want or do like I did and hire a roofing company.

We interviewed four roofing companies with experience with commercial roofing to do a variety of…read morerepairs on our church roofs which include slate, EPDM and asphalt shingles and also repairs to our copper gutters that were leaking. Brian Laverty with Cenvar Roofing was one of the more detailed roofers with his proposal and he responded very quickly. He was always available for our questions and patient with us as we gained understanding of the magnitude of our job. We hired Brian because of his price but also because of our comfort level with him and the reviews from previous customers who had similar needs as our needs. After the work was scheduled, the crew from Cenvar arrived at the promised time and they worked diligently as a team to correct the issues we had with our current roofs per their proposal. Cenvar honored their estimate for repairs although they encountered unexpected issues which was not surprising for a structure that is 100 years old. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Brian Laverty and Cenvar when given the opportunity for residential and commercial work because of their high quality of work, their high level work ethic, their desire to do their work with "excellence",their high level of professionalism and their excellent follow-up.

Our…read morepoles were wrapped (not in contract) which required them to remove our banisters and handrails, the workers were careless when they removed, then when they put them back up, they jammed nails in every which way, splintered the wood, sections were shortened and filled in with white caulking (very obvious), initially handrails were not even aligned properly and were crooked, etc, etc. They did align the handrails; however, the relations director stated it was our responsibility to have everything sanded and repainted. Neither would have fixed the damage caused by their workers. Company will not take responsibility for the damage, instead offers $100 and praises themselves for us receiving free labor and material, since work was completed outside of the contract. It has cost us $2300 so far (not including labor) to replace. With the cost of lumber today, we had to go with a cheaper material. Talking to the relations director is nothing but a joke, all she does is argue and deflects blame on the customer. Totally regret using this company and do not recommend!

After five months awaiting our windows, it became clear he had miscounted the number of windows by two windows. When confronted with this, he denied having counted the windows, claiming I provided the number instead. He further denied calling our front windows "doubles" (counting as one) in a phone call prior to our order and attempted to blame me for ordering the wrong number of windows. He further claimed we did not permit him to measure the upstairs windows. But we received all of the upstairs windows (which were a different size). I later sent him an email showing photos of him from our security cameras specifically counting the missing windows during his estimate visit. We received no reply. I ordered two new windows through another contractor. The second part of the work order (vinyl and aluminum) was communicated to the work team (who did great work but there was a serious language barrier). K Guard communicated an incomplete work order to them which I caught and stopped work on before it went too far. Upon calling K Guard, I was admonished by the receptionist that the frieze board was not included in my contract. I pointed out that it was included on page 1, paragraph 8 and after a second person admonished me to just "let the men do their work", I agreed but told them I would not be paying for uncompleted work. Finally a rep confirmed our read of the contract was correct and the work was completed with an additional week needed to do the work. The work team communicated this was the last job they would do with K Guard. They are not alone...
