The quality of his work is top notch. He pays attention to details in the lighting which, as any photographer knows, is one of the most important keys to a good picture. His studio is in the basement of his home in rural Billings. Patrick is an easy going family man; he proudly displays their portrait on his web site's homepage. And it's that family-based life that lends well to his handling of family members during those portrait sessions. He's terrific. His equipment is modern digital-SLR and lighting. He listens to the wishes of his client, and then edits select photos, resulting in nearly blemish-free portraits. In my family's case, my mother, who was battling cancer at the time and had tumor swelling on her face, was very concerned about how she would look. Patrick reassured her it would be fine. Mom, and I, were so very happy with the final result -- he worked his photo shop magic and completely transformed her face to the way it was months before our arrival at the studio. Finally, when Mom entered the hospital, and our photo order hadn't been chosen yet, I called Patrick to ask him to make a quick print of the family so I could have it sent to her hospital room. Patrick printed the image immediately and, without being asked, took the framed image to Mom's hospital room himself. He stayed and chatted with her, ingratiating himself and giving her comfort. That gesture alone is reason enough to go back to Patrick Walker Photography. The rest is the icing on the cake.

I met the owner and he was very nice and told me a little history and where to go on the property. They also do (small) weddings and they had three that weekend! Very cool place to visit on a sunny afternoon. The volunteer workers very nice and makes me want to volunteer somewhere local.
