While dealing with numerous issues at my apartment that led to me moving out, I contacted Robinson & Henry for assistance. I explained my legal issues with the apartment complex, that my apartment was over 85 degrees F and that the broken air conditioner unit and various other repairs were being refused by my landlord. When I called Robinson & Henry the first time, and paid for a consultation, I had an attorney explain to me the uninhabitable statute and what procedure to follow to move out of my apartment and get my deposit back. This was helpful information. I followed the statute to a T, and ended up moving out of my apartment May 01, 2024. I called Robinson & Henry multiple times after this, to inform the attorney I spoke with that the apartment complex was refusing to give my security deposit back despite me moving out under the statute procedures. No return phone calls ever came. I physically went to the law firm, and asked to speak with someone, and was told no one was available and to call and set up an appointment. I kept trying. I paid, once again, for a consultation, about a separate issue. This consultation was also helpful, and the attorney I spoke with that time was great. I called more after this, multiple times, asking to follow-up with the first attorney I consulted with regarding my apartment issue. Eventually I got through to someone a few days ago, who briefly spoke with me and explained that I would need to pay a consultation fee again to follow-up on my legal matter. I explained to this individual that I had filed a lawsuit pro se against my apartment complex for my deposit back. Last week, I realised I had served the wrong registered agent and that the correct agent is registered as a foreign LLC from Delaware. My question was: "Do I still have jurisdiction to sue the apartment complex if their registered agent is registered in a state other than Colorado. Does Adams County Colorado still have jurisdiction?" The woman I spoke with who had answered the phone told me she would relay the message to the attorney and I would get a call back letting me know if I needed to pay a consultation fee again or not. I explained that I did not have the money for a third consultation fee, I had already paid nearly $300. I was emailed a contract by the law firm after this, for a limited representation agreement & consultation fee of $200, with a link to pay. I ignored this email, as I do not have the additional $200 to spend to ask one question. I decided I would simply wait until my court date next week and ask the judge for a continuance and advice. Later, I got a phone call from an administrative person at the law firm calling to see if I had paid the fee, or if I wanted to then. I explained to them that I could not afford the fee, had already paid previously. I was trying to explain that I felt like the attorney could answer this question pretty quickly and I didn't really need a whole consultation for it, additionally that I was no longer in Colorado and couldn't come in for it anyway. The admin lady was quite rude. She said to me that the attorneys are unable to give legal advice without a retainer or fee. She went on to say it would "be unethical" for them to do so. I said back to her that I felt it was unethical for a lawyer to charge $200 for a 2-minute conversation where they answer a quick question. She said okay and we hung up and I was then sent an email with a cancellation of the contract and fee. Additionally and very important to note, It is not unethical for attorneys to provide pro bono legal advice and services. I've worked in the legal field for a few years now, even at a Legal Services firm in Florida where the entire firm is Pro Bono. Nothing about providing indigent people with assistance is "unethical." If you have the power and resources to help those in need and you choose to charge them $200 instead of simply answering a question, then you are simply out of touch with reality. I will not recommend this firm to anyone moving forward, as you are clearly a firm here to make as much money as possible, doing the least amount of help possible. read more

I hired Robinson & Henry around mid March 2026 to defend my daughter. Their retainer was $8,000 and $495/hour. They told me that we cannot countersue anything, but they will try to lessen the amount what my brother is suing for. My brother owns a plumbing company and wants $$$$ which wasn't in the initial complaint. He told my daughter that he will kill her in court and that is what he is doing. My brother has been trying to get anywhere from $25,000-$75,000 in which he would have to prove damages. So, we were going to trial. I agreed to go to trial which was April 15th and April 29th. Alex Lowe's assistant took over and their invoices just consisted of "review" "put on calendar" "discuss" which amounted to $8,0000 from the time I retain them to when we fired them on April 28th. There wasn't much communication between Alex Lowe's team. Nicholas Catalano is whom spoke with us via email or phone. I realize they invoiced me for discussion neither my daughter nor I ever had with them. They "nickle and dimed" me. For example, on 4/9, they charged me 3-$99.00 for review which amounts to around $300.00 for 36 minutes. Therefore, they made decisions without our consent such as accepting a motion to continue. The only action this team took with the courts is a Motion to Dismiss which Adams County probably dismissed or overlooked because my brother filed a Motion to Continue (after not abiding by the discovery date) 2 weeks after the Motion to Dismiss was filed, and Adams County granted within hours/days. I wished Robinson & Henry would have spoken up about that. In addition to the Motion to Continue (in which I confess they had a great argument on how each complaint had been satisfied) my brother was granted a Motion to Amend his complaint to include $$$$. I had a conversation with Nicholas the day before we released their services about how I strongly felt about their services. In speaking with him, I could tell the best interest of my daughter's case wasn't their top priority. Nicholas kept saying "think" and I told him "we can try". That I needed them to be a bit more aggressive and not just roll over and take the punches. What a waste of money. I hired them because I was referred to them by a friend, but the lawyer who took my friend's case no longer works at R&H. I would NOT recommend Robinson & Henry because they accrue unnecessary invoicing and are non-communicative. They were MORE communicative in a rapid time when we were releasing their services. read more

I had a horrible experience with Thomas Laue and his law firm, Robinson and Henry. First of all this is a corporate machine with a great billing department. They are out to bill you and make money first and foremost. The bills arrive consistently, but contact from your attorney that you're supposedly paying to work for you is pretty much non-exsistent I made the point from the start that money was tight and I wanted to negotiate a settlement as quickly as possible. Instead, Thomas Laue filed layers of litigation billing me every step of the way. After paring ways with him, I learned from another reputable attorney that much of this way excessive and superfluous. Just one example of the way the work, after getting little or no contact from Laue, I asked for a phone call to get an update. He contacted his paralegal to set up the call who then billed me $50 to set up the call!!! It was endless, when I finally started questioning his tactics and asked for proof that he was actually pushing for a settlement and trying to negotiate, he got defensive and suggested I find another attorney (this is after I was $30,000 in with Robinson and Henry). They took was has been a really difficult part of my life, took advantage and milked me for as much money as they could without accomplishing anything. It is perhaps the worst experience of my life. During the course of representation, I repeatedly had to correct basic factual inaccuracies in my own case materials and provide revisions to key documents, including the demand letter. For a matter billed hourly, this level of inattention was concerning. A firm deadline of February 4th was set for a settlement response. When that date passed without movement, I was advised not to be concerned, despite the urgency of the situation. I continued to be billed during this period without measurable progress. After requesting prioritization and clarity regarding billing relative to progress, the firm chose to close my file rather than continue representation. Prospective clients should ensure they fully understand the firm's communication practices, billing approach, and litigation strategy before retaining counsel. UPDATE: This firm's level of dishonesty is unacceptable. When I initially requested a full refund for their lack of services, Terri Jackson-Waller stated in writing that she "could not guarantee a full refund without discussing the situation further." I agreed to speak with her based on the clear understanding that a full refund was the goal of the meeting. After that discussion, they issued a partial refund and then had the audacity to send an email claiming they "never discussed" a full refund. This is an absolute lie and a shady bait-and-switch tactic. They used the possibility of a full refund to get me to engage, and once they issued a partial check, they completely changed their story and claimed no such discussion ever happened. They are now trying to act like the matter is "resolved" to protect their reputation while they are still holding onto my money. Would give ZERO stars if allowed... We hired this law firm in June 2025 and paid a $7,500 deposit up front, expecting professional guidance and regular communication. Unfortunately, what we received was the opposite!! I was originally speaking to one of the attorneys and they pawned off the case to an associate! Over time, they continued to send invoices totaling over $10,000, yet we saw no meaningful progress on our case. I hired Kevin Webster to represent me in my divorce, specifically to fight for a fair alimony amount. After a detailed consultation, he confidently calculated that I could expect significantly more than what my husband initially offered. That assurance was the reason I trusted him with my case. What followed was 2.5 months of delays, indifference, and nearly $10,000 in fees billed every two weeks for things like "discussed the case with another attorney" -- with no meaningful progress made. When my husband's attorney showed determination to fight, instead of standing up for me, Kevin completely backed down and advised me to accept the exact low offer he had originally said was unfair. In other words, after taking thousands of dollars, he told me to accept what I could have agreed to on day one without hiring him. It was clear to me that he had no real intention of advocating for my best interests. His approach was passive, defeatist, and the opposite of what you expect when paying for professional legal representation. This is the absolute worst experience with a professional business I've ever encountered. First of all, look at all the recent reviews. This company seems to be in a steady decline. Save your money and look elsewhere. Now I'm not trying to get in legal trouble writing this review (I've read they go after people that leave bad reviews), so I'm going to share only the facts of what transpired over the past year working with this company. In total, we paid nearly $50,000 on our case which was concerning a security deposit ($3000) and a demand for "damage" ($5000) which we ultimately were found not responsible for. We knew from the onset that we were not responsible for the damage, because we had the proof in photographs, so, even as the judge said in our final hearing, "this was a straightforward case". Now, why would we pay all of that money to the attorneys? Because the lease stated if anything went to court, the losing party would pay "reasonable attorney fees"....it just turns out that R&H do not bill you reasonably and our judge said so on record. He awarded us roughly $5000 of the nearly $50,000 in attorney fees, meaning that 90% of what R&H charged us was considered unreasonable. All the while, the firm continued to tell us that this should be an easy "win" for us. I don't know about you, but paying $45,000 out of pocket to "win" doesn't really feel great and as a result, I no longer own a vehicle (had to sell it to pay R&H), and my business is in ruin due to a lack of capital. My entire life has been turned upside down because of a company that seems to prioritize profit over professionalism. Now let's get into the details of how the firm operates. First of all, we went through not 1, not 2, but 4 different attorneys throughout our case! Kayla, Ali, Dag, and Will, with the former 3 being associates of Kayla. Ali and Dag left without notice, and I can only imagine why. Will and Dag, to be fair, did a great job, and I don't have anything negative to say about them. They seemed to really care about us while everyone else at R&H just cared about the payments. Overall, it seems to be more of a systematic issue that results in the financial team calling over and over and threatening to close the case if we don't make huge payments within a short time window. We were just a week away from trial and they sent a notice of withdrawal to the courts (which cost us even more money) when we told them we'd be paying shortly, as we always did. We travel for work and we had to drive all the way back from a work event in South Dakota to sell my car in order to get to trial. Near the end, R&H seemed like the bigger enemy than the landlord we were fighting in court. After we won the initial case, as we knew we would, we had another court date set to determine reasonable attorney fees, as laid out in our lease. The Judge made it clear that 90 hours of billable work was egregious for a case this "straightforward". That is on record. There was a lot of talk about the average bill rate for attorneys and all that, none of which seemed out of the norm for this area, but the focus was primarily on the amount of hours being insanely high. Not to mention all the extra money we paid for erroneous tasks, the most extreme being us paying for their notice of withdrawals, all on our dime. We were also persuaded to hire a "attorney fees expert" for the final meeting in court, but ultimately he was not even allowed to give his testimony. That was a huge waste of money alone. So, after our ruling, we were obviously pretty upset to waste $45,000, so we scheduled a call to discuss possible reconciliation with Terry Jackson-Waller. On our call today, she was rude, talked over me, and cut me off multiple times. Essentially she said the Judge simply had an "opinion" on what "reasonable attorney fees" are, to which I responded "well, I plan to get the opinions of the Colorado Bar Association, the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, and the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel. At the point, she cut me off once again to say, "we don't take threats" and hung up. So as promised, here is my honest review. I paid for my son to have an initial consultation with this firm. They charged $300 for 1/2 hour of time. They assigned a Senior Associate for Real Estate and Business law to meet with my son about an employment matter. The attorney was not at all interested in learning about the circumstances, nor did he peruse any of the materials my son brought with him. I should have realized that this firm is all about the money, not the client. When you call their number, the first options relate to paying your bill. Unlike most employment attorneys, they do not accept matters on contingency. They may be great at other areas, but they completely let down my son. This law firm is treacherous! A few years ago I hired Joe Novak (and his sidekick Kory Edmark) to help me with an HOA matter that another attorney had totally botched. I was "promised the world" by Mr. Novak and he proceeded to drain me of another $60K even though I was already out $80K at the time. Managing Partner did dismiss $30K of the outstanding bill when I filed a formal complaint. Neither Novak nor Edmark are still with Robinson & Henry (fired?) and to prove my point, each is now working in areas of law that are completely unrelated to what I hired them to do. Another example of lawyers brazenly and unethically acting outside of their areas of competence and the state of Colorado still allows this. I have some active complaints with the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel and the Better Business Bureau where representatives for Mr. Novak and Mr. Chandler have lied to these entities, something that I will continue with my efforts to demonstrate otherwise. I won't get into specifics here--though will on a subsequent review--because these are active cases and attorneys of the ilk that work (worked) at Robinson & Henry are the types that will try to take what you say and twist it to their advantage. Here's a great example... after taking my money ( lots of it too) for 6 months suddenly my attorney could no longer remember how to spell my first name. Also I qualified to have court fees waved. I felt alone and scared and afraid to ask question. They Rob you of high costs just by paperwork and emails alone without doing any actual work to find out what the opposing party is hiding in assets or helping to get use of a joint vehicle. instead they want you to figure it all out. the higher up "bosses" didn't even get ahold of me when I complained. We hired this law firm to review our HOA covenants and protect us from being abused by our neighbors in anticipation of a pending action against us. We spent thousands of dollars and received a couple of opinions that turned out to be worthless. Worse yet, when we called the law firm back to say that we needed them to represent us based on the work they did for us we were told by our attorney that they were "too busy." This meant we had to find a new attorney in a crunch and pay them to do all the work over again, doubling our costs. Robinson & Henry is a firm I would forever avoid doing business with after our experience. They bailed on us in our hour of need and we lost a great deal of time, money, and mental energy. To make matters worse, we took Robinson & Henry up on their word that their senior partner was willing to work out any problems, but he was useless as well and said the firm was too busy to help and there was nothing they could do for us. If you want to be deserted in your time of crisis, this firm is up to the task of disappointing you. read more

They dropped the ball. didn't manage my case and it cost $105,000. Don't use them for any reason. They are over priced under skilled. It takes 3 people to talk about talking. They are awful. They don't fight for your best somehow think being the nice guy will get you brownie all the while getting your getting moved over by a real lawyer. Stay away read more

I had originally given this firm a poor rating. I must say though that this firm is very aware of their ratings on both Google and Yelp. I was contacted by both a manager and also one of the firm's partners after my rating. Although I did not get the results that I wanted, I learned that the legal system does not work like it is on TV... This firm did return some of the money I shelled out but more importantly reached out to hear my side of the story. The attorney representing me was honest about winning a lawsuit... so let's leave it as... NEVER EVER EVER BUY A TOWNHOME.... You will be very sorry if you have to have any dealings with the HOA..... They have more power than the legal system can help you with. read more
