Guess who just called me? At roughly 9:45 pm I received a phone call from my dentist, whom called to check up on how I was feeling, and how the medication he prescribed was treating me. Let me ask.. When was the last time your doctor/dentist ever called you back, let alone when was the last time they voluntarily called you to make sure you were alright? *insert sound of crickets here* Right!? About two weeks ago my mouth was hurting so bad of and on that it was interfering with two of my favorites pastimes - talking, and eating! All kidding aside, I was pretty damn miserable and decided that enough was enough. Since I did not yet have a dentist on this side of the world, it was time to whip out my phone and do some Yelping. I did not have to search for too long, and decided to give Robison Dental a call. I spoke with Mia on the phone whom was attentive and patient, listening to my woes and helping me schedule an emergency appointment. I have never been one to fear a visit to the dentist. Matter of fact, I loved going to my dentist and adored the guy for the positive feedback I'd receive at each visit. I have never experienced dental problems, dental pain, or pain at this level in general. So at this point I was getting a little scared, to tell you the truth. I figured whatever was going on in my tooth, surely could not be positive if it made me want to yank it out and be done with it alltogether. Whatever treatment was lying ahead could not possibly be worry- and painfree. Walking into the clinic I was impressed by the small details in the waiting area. Comfortable sofas and chairs took place instead of ugly, uncomfortable seating often found in other places. Beautiful books filled the tables, instead of weekly tabloids. I noticed a mini fridge which did not only have V8 and bottled water in it, but also served my favorite San Pellegrino water. I'm not gonna lie, this added a little checkmark in the 'positive' section on my mental scorecard (because I am lame like that, and I clearly have my priorities 'straight'). I brought my uber critical and hygiene minded husband along for emotional support; and he mentioned how nice and clean this office was when it came time to move to the back. Paula was waiting for me, pillow in hand (me likey!). She helped me out with some x-rays that needed to be taken, and stayed throughout the procedure which was to follow. She made me feel very calm and at ease throughout the 2 hours that I ended up spending in her presence. Dr JD was extremely nice and pleasant to talk to. He explained everything very well, and somehow managed to bring the news that I needed a rootcanal without me bursting out in tears or massive shakes. I did regress back to 5 year old me, going back to the inquisitive 'how' and 'but why' state. Dr JD whipped out his little tooth schematic, and had me trusting in him very quickly. I actually kinda felt like "OK - let's do this"! At the beginning and throughout the procedure he did everything possible to make sure that I was comfortable, taking his time numbing half my face to ensure there would be no discomfort whatsoever. You could have thrown a baseball anywhere on the right side of my face, and I bet I would not have known the difference. This whole numbing business was new for me, as where I am from cavities are filled without gas or shots. My husband calls this barbaric, I just like to call him a wusspuss. Either way, I was very apprehensive and concerned about both gas and the numbing shots, but Dr JD and Paula once again made me feel at complete ease. In case you were wondering, Robison Dental Group has a bunch of different payment options available. Whatever your situation may be, it is clear that this office puts their patients' needs first. Mad props to Dr JD for dealing with my neurotic questions, making me feel comfortable and at ease during my visit - and of course for fixing my chopper(s)! Also plenty of kudos to Paula, she is a sweetheart and super pleasant to spend a few hours of unflattering 'agony' with. Also a quick shout-out to whomever picked the amazing playlist consisting of John Mayer-esque tunes..thanks! I recently changed over to this dental office due to concerns with my old dental office. I was nervous to have a new dentist. This nervousness was quickly gone once I met the staff and the Dentist. When I initially went online to make an appointment, it was due to some pain in my front teeth. He called me that evening willing to see me first thing the next morning. I opted for a different appointment time due to my schedule. They were able to get me in very quickly to address these issues. The environment is very relaxing and calm. While I have some dental anxiety, I had no concerns while I was having my initial exam and my initial cleaning with their staff. I have suffered with headaches for YEARS. My old dentist did not address this, I now have no headaches as I was prescribed a bite splint. I wish I knew I needed this thing years ago. The staff are always friendly and feel like hanging out with old friends instead of the regular dental experience. I highly recommend this dental practice to you. My 5 & 61/2 year old will be going here from now on as well. Dr. JD is a great guy. read more

My wife went to JD when our previous dentist wasn't able to put a bridge she had back on properly. She had so many good things to say about the place I decided to start going here too. We both see JD and couldn't be more impressed. Their office and equipment are very nice, and all the staff are very friendly and personal. After every major procedure JD has followed up with a phone call. More than anything I have been amazed at their ability to do entire procedures completely pain free, even a root canal I needed to have done. Also, JD is a pro at injecting the anesthetic. If I could give Robinson Dental a gazillion stars, I would. The entire gang there is exceptional, and I am a fierce critic since I believe that dentists in general are satan's spawn. I, like many, avoided the dentist as much as possible in my adulthood despite being in healthcare and advising my patients on the scope and sequence to better health. Do as I say and not as I do. Well no longer. Today, I drove to Robinson Dental without once feeling nauseated, thinking of turning around, or mentally cursing out another driver from misplaced angst. It was a freaking miracle. My experience with Dr. JD began a couple years ago when he was referred to me by a colleague at the hospital that I trust implicitly. This individual has been going there for years and continued even after a move now required an hour drive. Honestly, I was terrified. I hadn't been to the dentist in years and was apprehensive, embarrassed, and skeptical. While the initial visit was unnerving only due to my own neurosis, Dr. JD was kind, gentle, funny, and was never judgey, dismissive, nor condescending and continues to be all of those things. All of the others reviews are true. He calls to check on you the night after a procedure. He explains everything in as much detail as you'd like. He is straight forward and honest. He respects your time and discomfort. But while all of these statements are true they can not convey his earnestness nor convey all of the little bits that are inclusive in his magic. I know it sounds like hyperbole. It is not. Let me repeat. I did not have one negative thought about my appointment today. What was that? I just saw a pig flying... I also have to give a shout out to Jessica for calling me when there was a cancellation getting me in two weeks early. And to Paula for making me ultra comfortable physically and mentally. And to Dr. JD's father, who always has a smile, a kind word, and started something truly great. I have had my mouth completely overhauled and am confident that it will never fall into disrepair with the help of Dr. JD and gang. I started seeing Dr. Robison for a white spot issue on some of my teeth, and he has been nothing but great! I really appreciated that he took the least invasive and most cost-effective approach first. Although that approach takes more time, it was clear that he was looking out for my best interests rather than doing a quick, expensive fix. The entire staff there is very friendly. They remember me and my dental issues and makes me feel like a valued patient. They often seem to run late, but I don't really mind as that probably just means that they take detailed care with each patient. They are always very apologetic when it does happen and let me know beforehand so I know what to expect. Would 100% recommend! read more

Very happy with Robison Dental. My whole family goes there....great with kids and adults. I have 3 girls who are 11, 9, and 3. They have all been there for check-ups and cleanings and have had great experiences. The waiting room has recently been updated....very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere with a great little area for kids too. I love everything about this place: the staff, the cleanliness, Bose headphones they offer (yes, with music...awesome), and the genuine care Dr. JD and hygienists provide. Dr. Robison and the whole staff are amazing people. I am never scared to go into the office and they always welcome me. The cleanings are very quick and the hygienists are very informative. Whenever I have to go in for additional work the billing representative is always on top of working with my insurance provider and giving me options if I need them. When going in for the work I am greeted with "would you like nitrous, headphones, and a blanket?" And finally Dr. Robison is super gentle and will answer any stupid questions you might have without hesitation. read more

Everyone that I came in contact with at this office on my first visit was extremely friendly and welcoming. I have never been to a dentist that was as thorough as J.D. I have been going to Robison Dental for 37 years -- since I was 12 - and I highly recommend the entire practice. Dr. John and now Dr JD have always used the latest technologies and protocols, and deliver the services in a very personal way. The Hygiene Staff are fantastic too -- Claudia my personal favorite (my school buddy) and Mia as well. I started going to Robison Dental nearly 10 years ago. At that time, I hadn't been to the dentist in a few years and I was really nervous. All of that anxiety disappeared the moment I walked in the door. The waiting room itself is warm and inviting and is equipped with comfortable couches along with complimentary K-cup coffee. But don't get too cozy - I've never had to wait more than five minutes to be taken to the back (I'm a man on the go and that level of efficiency is invaluable). When I go in for a cleaning, I'm usually taken care of by this amazing dental hygienist named Claudia. She does everything within her power to put my anxiety at ease. If you value your dental health, Claudia's meticulous nature is for you! In a single cleaning, Claudia performs digital x-rays, an oral cancer screening, polishes my teeth, measures my gums for recession, and performs a periodontal exam. I've been to other dentists and when you go in for a cleaning...they ONLY clean your teeth. At Robison, the focus is both on cleaning and preventive care. I never have to worry about my dental health spiraling out of control because the staff is on top of it. At the end of every cleaning, Dr. Robison comes in to offer his assessment. Never in my life have I met such a charismatic, professional, and dedicated practitioner. I'm 34 years old and come from a family with a history of bad teeth - because of Dr. Robison, my teeth and gums look great. On a final note...I met my wife 2 and a half years ago. Much to my surprise, I learned that out of the hundreds of dentists in the area, she was a patient of Dr. Robison as well. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Robison and his awesome staff! Like many others, I have a great deal of anxiety when it comes to dental work - even it's just for a simple cleaning. Dr. JD and his team always make sure I feel comfortable and relaxed before, during and after any visit. Took my 3 year old son for a check up to find that he had two cavities in his front two teeth. The staff there along with Dr. J.D. put my son at ease through the cleaning and the two subsequent visit to take care of the cavities. They were really good with my son and made it seem fun and positive that my son kept asking me to go the dentist after each trip (he didn't realize going that many times in a short period is a bad thing!). I would like to start by explaining that I have always feared "The Dentist". From childhood into my early 20s, I have had massive dental work done; tooth extractions, palate splitters, braces, retainers, crowns, fillings, and root canals. You name it, I have probably had it. My worst fear was always the Novocain (numbing) shots. The crunch of the needle into your gums, the stinging as they injected it.... Sometimes the pain of the drilling was better than the numbing shot. Fifteen years ago I had a crown put on a front tooth that was broken in half as a kid. It was larger than my other front teeth and I developed a large purple knot on my gums right above it. Over the years I went to a couple different dentists who told me there was nothing they could do, it was part of the difficulty of having a crown on such a visible tooth. Some didn't even take notice to it. It made me very self-conscious of my smile. I went to Robison Dental on a recommendation. One of the first questions Dr. JD asked me when I sat in his chair was if there was anything about my teeth that concerned me or I didn't like. Of course I mentioned the crown on my front tooth and explained I already knew there was nothing to be done. Dr. JD immediately said he could fix it. I was skeptical, but he performed a miracle. My new crown looks completely normal - he even sent it back to the lab a couple of times to get the coloring perfect. The big purple knot on my gums is gone, and the best part - he was so gentle during the procedures I did not even know he had given me a Novocain shot until my lips went numb! I am so proud of my smile now. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the office has a warm, comfortable feeling of home. I have lame dental insurance, and Robison is considered out-of-network, but I am more than willing to pay the extra out of pocket costs because they are worth it. read more

I actually wrote this on the other robinson dental group on yelp! oh my! I am currently a full-time model and needed new veneers for a crisp gorgous smile. However, i was very hesitant to get them done due to the fact that if they are not done well they look very unnatural. I wanted a very natural look that had to be perfect to the mm because of my headshots. Well, after explaining this to Dr.John- he quickly took it as a challenge. Not only did he make me feel completely comfortable by giving my my own personal blanket and I-POD, BUT he promised me that he was going to do what ever it took to make me happy. For the first time in my life, I had a cavity. In my 30s, I was nervous to have a dental procedure, especially during the child bearing & breastfeeding years. JD answered all of my questions & was very patient with me while I came to terms with it all. Needles, blood, & guys have a tendency to make me pass out, so I was really nervous. From the moment prep started, JD made me feel 100% comfortable. He talked up a storm to distract me which was great. The local anesthesia via needle started and...I DIDNT FEEL A THING! I was in shock! JD's technique for anything regarding pain is amazing! The cavity filling proceeded carefully & cautiously. When it was done, I went to schedule my next filling. They had an opening that evening. I was shocked when I easily took it! So I went through the whole thing twice in one day! And it was a CINCH!
