Birthplace of Texas Hold 'em Poker! Robstown knows how to party! When I came down here, they had a free live accordion concert on the town square here! They were selling beers, frito pies, arts and crafts! Everyone had a great time. There's a big plaza set up right in front of the city hall. There's ample lighting, grass to play in, concrete to sit on, and enough power outlets to keep the whole party going! Everyone came out and partied it up! I enjoyed the squeezeboxing! Woo! There's a train track that runs right near the plaza, for some picturesque views. The city was kind enough to put in port-a-potties. Also, the bassist for Queensrÿche is from Robstown! Robstown is part of Nueces County, and is kind of a suburb of Corpus Christi. It's not a very old town, as compared to some of these other cities around South Texas. But their parties are epic. read more

You've got to love Rockport's dedication to the arts. They've got sculptures lining the major streets all throughout town. From a giant crab to a big marlin, to whatever those big stone things are by the beach, they're keeping it unique around here. The arts district is full of all kinds of cool galleries and fun little restaurants, a great way to spend the day. The docks are a great place to get hooked up for a fishing expedition. This being a shrimping town, there's a long list of amazing places to get fed. The people here are friendly, and the weather is generally great here. I really enjoy coming down to Rockport to hang out. There's always something to do, and there's always plenty of relaxing by the shore.

This post office serves Sinton well. It looks like it has been here since the 50's or 60's. It's a…read moreplain brick building on a hard corner with the main street in town, in front of the Whataburger and HEB, so it's on some good real estate. The parking lot is set up in a one-way style, so it dumps you back on the highway upon exiting. There are outside mailboxes, which is nice so you don't have to go inside and get coughed upon. I wish that this town had an updated post office that looks better than this. The county courthouse here looks nice, why can't the post office? Plus, this post office lost a star since they don't sell any beer. If you don't like going to the post office, don't worry, they'll generally come to you.

Recently authorized to increase depth from 45 to 52 feet,the port is beginning to grow to handle the increase in manufacturing in the area. To accommodate the largest super tankers and increase space,a new bridge as well as docks are being constructed. This part of Texas no longer remains slow paced with wind,steel and chemical manufacturing on the increase.

As a small child I remember when my father would take us to the "dump". You would vomit the minute you got there because of the smell; the seagulls would attack you and when you left there was a 99.9% chance you had come into contact with a deadly disease. Everything you know or remember about going to the landfill has changed. The moment you drive in you are greeted by a nice attendant who directs you to a large garage-like area with a cement floor. There are a few attendants directing you on where to park in the garage. Once you have parked you simply throw your items on the floor of the garage. A few more attendants will sweep or pick up what you have left and you never have to vomit, get attacked my birds or catch something. It's fun to push all of the stuff out of the bed of your truck on the floor and drive off!

There was some sort of event taking place at this particular park. As a result, we were only able to check out a few of the historical homes located here. Seemed like there was a lot to take in but were pleased with what we saw. The city did a great job procuring the various historical homes and placing them along the street corridor. We will definitely come back here again if and when we are back in town.
