I have had the pleasure of seeing Dr Pruden from back when we each had no grey in our hair - and he remains the only chiropractor I fully trust til this day. I recently went to see him due to a new issue with damaged nerves and a slipped disc, which most chiropractors tell you they can fix in just a few adjustments. Dr Pruden took the time to read thru my entire MRI images (not just the report summary, which is what most doctors do) and showed me in great detail where my issue was, and why I would likely need surgery, which was something that my medical doctor has never told me. He also did something that NO CHIROPRACOR WOULD EVER DO which is to tell me to save my money and that for my condition, any relief would be temporary, which I have since confirmed with my doctor. Any other chiropractor would have told me that they could treat me, but it would take a commitment of 2-4 visits a week and that they could sell me a package of 10. I hope this makes clear that the in addition tio being the best chiropractor in the NY area, he also has great integrity, and he will never strong you along just to get paid. She came highly recommended but did not manage to alleviate my pain in the long term. I tried her husband but that proved even less effective as he was afraid to give my back the necessary adjustment I required. In addition, I found that their per treatment cost was exorbitantly high.

Buyer Beware. They may not be a scam, but it sure feels like one…read more Please note that this is only my experience and does not reflect the people that work at Joint Effort. Everyone is really nice and they do a good job of making you feel comfortable. However: The entire process from start to finish is a bit of pseudo-science. You are first given a free book to read about decompression therapy and then are required to get an MRI to become a eligible patient. Turns out I had four herniated disks which just so happen to be eligible for decompression therapy. I was then quoted a figure of $7,000 for the entire 30 session process. Shortly afterwards I was exposed to dozens of alleged testimonials about how successful the process was. I figured that it would be worth the investment so I went ahead and started a payment plan with them. The process itself is a bit lackluster - you are literally laying down as a machine pulls at the bottom of your skull a centimeter or so for about 20 minutes. You are also given ice packs to take home with you and you're told multiple times to make sure to ice the neck and lower back area at least 5 times a day. For the most part, the pain started to go away although there were some times when I wake up with excruciating pain for a day which eventually went away. Fast forward 30 sessions later, and I noticed my pain started to return. However, the only thing that changed was that I was getting a bit lazy with the icing of my neck. And then it hit me, maybe it's the ice that is doing all the work and not the stretching. Either way - I asked for a copy of my statement for tax purposes and it turned out that $7k quote was a lie. I was charged $255 per session and my bill came out to $8,950 (~35 sessions). To summarize, nothing against the people that work here, but it seems sketchy. I wouldn't recommend unless you've tried surgery already and it didn't work.
