Visiting the area and had morning coffee and breakfast here. My Egg Nog Latte was excellent. I was so excited to see it on the menu, since most coffee chains have stopped offering this seasonal treat. I had a delicious and fresh cream cheese Danish. Mr.G was able to get a Coke (in a can), which was needed and he had a breakfast burritos with bacon. It was delicious and the quality of the food was excellent and made fresh. I was pleasantly surprised with this coffee shop. I wasn't expecting such a superb breakfast. I like to support local businesses, especially on long road trips. I took a shot in the dark and randomly chose this coffee shop on Google Maps. I was on a long drive from Indiana to North Dakota and stayed overnight in Clearwater next to Saint Paul. I came in for a cup of coffee, but the place smelled nice, and others were eating meals that looked good. I asked the lady at the counter what's the closest thing they had to an egg McMuffin. She suggested a breakfast bagel. My goodness, it was so yummy! I ended up ordering a 2nd one! I rarely do that but had to on this occasion. The ladies working here are friendly and do an amazing job preparing the food. I love this place and will make it a point to have breakfast here when driving through Minnesota. read more

I went over to Rock Creek Coffee House to work on grad school applications. The menu was extensive enough that I felt flustered as I stepped up to the counter to order my usual mocha. I was delighted to discover a seasonal drink menu on the counter when I paid (I'm definitely getting the banana bread chai next time I go). There was a group of older gentlemen seated around a big table near the windows, chatting cheerfully. They made the atmosphere feel very community centric. The available seating was mostly for groups of four or more, so it made me feel like I was monopolizing a booth when I camped out. There's one table for two far away from any power outlets. If I had stayed longer, I would have indulged in a selection from the extensive lunch menu. I would definitely return. read more

Not a bad spot. Service is a little slow but nice to have a local, independent coffee shop nearby. We stop by for the loaded breakfast bagel and coffee about once every two weeks. Usually the sandwich is pretty damn good, but a few recently have had almost zero cream cheese and extremely small amounts of bacon. For an $8 "loaded" breakfast sandwich, I would expect a better product - especially when I originally request extra cream cheese and in both sides of the bagel. Coffee is decent...drive through can be a wait. Oh well, can't win 'em all. I'll take a picture of the sandwich if we decide to give it a try again. read more

Typically love this place, but today I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. I ordered a sandwich to split and waited more than 25 minutes for a meal that typically takes 5. I placed my order and was told the sandwich would be brought out to me. After ordering, the cashier never began making it--it was not busy at all--maybe three other customers in the store. After waiting 25 minutes in plain sight, I called him over and asked if it was still on it's way. I received a thumbs up and "Oh yeah!" He ran behind the counter and began making it. Then he asked (for the second time) "here or to-go?" After 5 more minutes the second barista brought it out without saying anything. No apology. No "thanks for waiting!" When we left we were never thanked for our service. Really disappointed in the lack of basic customer service etiquette. read more

Nice local place it is very clean and the people are polite. They said thanks when I put tips in the jar and when I ordered a mocha they didn't ask what kind of chocolate I wanted, they just made it for me. These are all things that I love about local place and can't sand about chain places. I hope this place does very well in the area. Also, they have a large selection of unique teas. My boyfriend and I frequent Rock Creek at least once a week; their seasonal drinks and breakfast sandwiches are my favorite part of our Sunday morning routine. The sandwiches are cooked to order, and while I love the breakfast items from places like Caribou and Starbucks, I know that they use pre-made frozen food. The only time I went there and had anything close to a negative experience was in October. They had run out of pumpkin flavoring, and being the basic b*tch that I am, I was disappointed. I ended up ordering something else which was equally as delicious, and they gave me a discount because they didn't have what I initially wanted. Very well handled, and though I wasn't upset with them, I left extremely satisfied that we would be back. I love this place. The atmosphere, the employees, the food and drinks... Never coming back. The blonde barista taking our order was rude and got everything wrong. My daughter who has a dairy allergy received a whole milk steamer instead of almond milk- thankfully I try her drinks before giving them to her! The urinal was FULL of piss and piss alllll over the bathroom. I almost threw up. Definitely not coming back and also the lattes are lack luster due to a tiny amount of espresso to milk ratio. I have been coming to your facility every Friday to get a soy latte and a breakfast bagel sandwich for months. Today I came through and they told me the total was two dollars MORE than what it has always been. I asked the girl at the window and she said that has always been the price. I asked for my stuff back and told her I would show her a past charge and receipt from the previous week. Your manager Erin came to the window and threw my cards at me and slammed it shut...I was absolutely shocked! So I made eye contact with her and signaled to open the window she stared at me. I honked my horn and waved at her to open the window, she walked away. I was fuming and decided to call and talk to the manager who was apparently the same girl at your drive thru window. I asked for contact info for the owners and she refused. She continued to talk over me and when I told her to stop she told me I was being rude. Well. Pretty sure anyone in my situation wouldn't exactly feel great at this point. So she took my name and number. I doubt you will call back. But I will tell you this, treat your customers better. Because I will not be back. I will tell all of my family and friends, I will post this everywhere possible online. Small companies like you rely on your reputation and sales from people in this community. Have a conversation with your manager. They are a reflection of you and your company, and her behavior is absolutely disgusting. read more

I have only tried one sandwich because I can't stray from it! The crispy cheese sandwich has several different cheeses. Not sure exactly, I'm thinking smoked Gouda, cheddar, and something with dill..,it's tasty! Sandwiches are served with potato chips, and that includes one chocolate dipped potato chip. A fun addition to the meal! As for coffee, I get the turtle oddie, which was good. I think both items are a little on the spendy side and I typically have about a 5-8 minute wait going through the drive thru. But all in all, a nice local coffee shop! read more

The food and drinks are in par with Panera Bread the reason I gave it 2 stars is from my experience today at 1000am. I ordered the Montana sanwhich at the drive thru and was advised I might have to wait five minutes. Annoying but I understand they have to make it. I got to the window and waited 3 minutes for the worker to open up and ask me if I wanted a soda for 99cents. (I already advised at the speaker I didnt want anything else). So I reaffirmed no thanks. She swiped my card and said 5 minutes it would be ready. (After I already waited 3 minutes. So I waited 7 more, noone in site I was late and had to go. I sprnt 12 minutes total time waiting for nothing and charged for it. I dont think this is the norm but im now very annoyed. I thought I might have been able to support the sauk rapids area but I huess ill head to Panera next time. read more

Truth be told, this is my go-to shop, the one closest to home, and I probably tend to cut it a lot of slack. It is spacious, a mix of tables and booths that are a little dark but comfy. The light is quite good thanks to store-front windows on the street and drive-thru side of the house. It is quite inviting for those who want to study, read, or chat. But the polished concrete floor is bland and quite possibly treacherous when wet. read more

When my Rockacchino was made it was not mixed well. Large chunks of ice in it that kept clogging the straw. The Barista assisting me could careless if I was there. I later found she just wanted to leave as her shift was ending. I do have a few Barista's here that are very friendly and accommodating. Hopefully retraining will occur to fix the concerns. read more
