Amazing tiny bakery tucked behind the Krew restaurant. They're actually run by the same couple where the wife runs Flour & Flower and the husband runs Krew. They've got a fantastic, rotating assortment of bread, pastries, and light lunch offerings. Everything changes seasonally and the menu is announced on Facebook each morning based on what's fresh and available. The cafe is tiny and doesn't have any inside seating but there are plenty of benches and parks nearby to enjoy your spoils. They tend to sell out pretty quickly so you want to get there on the early side. Their service has always been super fast and friendly with a charming "small town" feel. This time we got a strawberry vanilla scone and the spinach & garlic scape croissant. The scone is a more southern, soft and bready style instead of the crumbly European ones. It's crazy soft and very flavorful. The vanilla sugar crust is a nice textural change from the squishy scone. The croissant is amazingly light, buttery, and crusty. It explodes with flakes but still has all the delicious filling intact. Highly recommend any of their laminated goods. You definitely want their focaccia if they offer it. This place is worth a road trip.

Such a cute little spot. Apologies, every time I've been I've forgotten to take pastry pictures until I was mid-bite. They're that good!

Stopped by this St. Joseph favorite yesterday and realized that in all my times coming here, I still hadn't left a review. I've said it once and I'll say it again: Flour and Flower is one of the best bakeries in Minnesota, as well as one of the state's best kept secrets. Most recently, I got the Peach, Plum, & Apple Turnover, which was delicious and I can't recall the last time I had plum anything! The Dark Chocolate Lavender Shortbread is to die for, as is the Salted Rosemary Shortbread. If like me you can't choose, don't and get both! Honestly, you really can't go wrong. They also have an assortment of pies (matcha tea custard, anyone?), breads, cookies, pizzas (on pizza night -- Monday from 5 to 8:30 p.m.), flowers, and super cute merchandise. If I could live there I just might. You can find parking to the right hand side of the building or there is easy to find street parking on College Ave and W Minnesota St. Note: This is not a sit down place and you won't find seating. The Most Important Note: Worried about Flour & Flower selling out before you get there (it happens!)? You can preorder food for pickup on their website. If you're in the cities, I recommend taking a little day trip up to St. Joseph, looking at all the cute shops, grabbing brunch at Krewe, some baked goods from Flour and Flower for the ride home (if you can wait!), and ending the day with a stop at, in my opinion, the best cidery in the state, Milk & Honey Ciders. Feel free to check out my reviews of both!

Road Trip!! What an awesome find on a wonderful weekend drive!!! We were pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful welcoming shop last Saturday!!! Flour and Flower is so welcoming from the outside and the STAFF is even more welcoming inside! Coffee, cookies, pastries, breads, pizza and gifts fill this awesome shop. We were shopping on a full stomach so we only came away with a few goodies. We purchased a molasses cookie and some rosemary shortbread cookies for friends. They REALLY enjoyed them and we're sad to find that they were 90 miles away from the next ones :( We treated ourselves to an "everything" chocolate chip cookie, a banana bread loaf, and croissants to go! We enjoyed these wonderful treats over the next several days. Flour and Flower also have great unique bouquets and gifts. I could not resist a beautiful pair of crane earrings. A gift for...me! So many tasty and wonderful treats and gifts fill this cozy shop. ENJOY!!!!

By far my favorite coffee shop in Central Minnesota! One of…read morethe most important features of a coffee shop is the atmosphere, and The Local Blend does not disappoint! Mixing a tasteful blend of tradition and contemporary with wooden tables and chairs with brightly painted walls and their distinct "cosmic" mugs, enjoying a talk with a friend or focusing to study for that next exam has never been more enjoyable! Their coffee and tea selections are varied with local, organic blends that never fail to impress me! I specifically recommend their cold brew, whatever roast is available, with a touch of milk on a hot summer day! Finally, their pastries and food selections are always changing, with a steadfast dedication to incorporating local bakeries and baking scones, cakes, and other treats in-house. The almond croissants from Backwards Bread Baking Co. are to die for! You will not be disappointed with this quintessential Central Minnesotan local, organic coffee shop!

Today the Cafe au lait was delicious however our Almond Croissant had to be days old as needed to be carved up to eat. I would recommend sticking with their in house scones or muffins. There are some monthly specials, along with an extensive list of regular rotation cocktails. There is also a note, if you can dream it, they will try to make it. We had some BOGOs to use, so we tried a few different things. Hubs was a little disappointed that there was a drink with goat cheese that was sold out. It sounded so unique and interesting though! I had the Rover, a lemon raspberry gin fizz-like drink and the Peeps special. Both were light tasting, the Rover was delicious. Hubs tried the Gaia's Garden special, not my fave, but he enjoyed it. Worth the hour-ish drive from the cities or if you're up in the Collegeville area.

With family living near by I thought this would be a great location to begin my journey. As you pull up the spot looks quaint with a metal barn exterior and a large yard and tented patio. Walking in it felt very industrial chic, with wood and black metal interior design. The bartender was absolutely fabulous, we had great conversation and she was able to help my brother and I select a few cocktails that we could be interested based on our preferred pallets. The distillery has a main cocktail menu along with a seasonal menu with approximately 6-8 specialty drinks. My first choice 2.5/5 Rover Club - consisting of gin, egg white, raspberry, and lemon. The initial taste was nice, however the sweet of the raspberry and the sour of the lemon almost seemed to neutralize the drink leaving me wanting a bit more flavor. My brother's first selection 3.5/5 Golden Hands - consisting of whiskey, egg yolk, cinnamon, and lemon. I'm not a huge cinnamon fan like he is, however this had a nice consistency and could make a great drink for those looking for something outside of the box. My second choice 4.5/5 Aurora Haze - consisting of Aurora gin, grapefruit, and lemon. Their "grapefruit martini". This cocktail was right up my alley! The drink was slightly Tarte with a sweeter finish and the presentation was beautiful! I am a sucker for purple gins. Would most definitely return for this cocktail. My brother's second selection 4/5 French Toast - ingredients unknown. It was very creamy with a nice touch of cinnamon. It gave me the impression of drinking the leftover milk in your Cinnamon Toast Crunch bowl. This cocktail was my brother's favorite of the night. Overall this was a nice experience! Even though my first drink wasn't particularly my cup of tea, my last cocktail made me feel better about their selections! My brother also really enjoy his two cocktails.
