BEWARE OF THIS BREEDER. She is not truthful and when caught she will gaslight you and be close to verbally abusive. She sold me a kitten with girardia. You can see multiple reviews saying the same thing. I'm not even going to go in to the abusive conversation but she told me to wait to bring him to the vet for a few weeks so he settles.... When I saw the contract said 72 hours. That's when I came to yelp and saw the horrible reviews. Once I saw all of these reviews I panicked. Seeing so many kittens she sold to people that were sick, I figured i should ask her for the testing results she claims she has done on them. I made a vet appt and took him the next day, caught him up on the vaccine she was supposed to give him and got other things checked. My vet asked for the FIV/FELV panels she should have from his parents. As she claims on her site. I let her know I took him in, they caught him up on the vaccine and asked for the panels of his parents...She has none of that. She doesn't test the kittens, nor the parents annually like she's supposed to. She told me she hasn't done it in generations but she knows they're fine. Then why are there so many people who got sold sick kittens, Jane? I then asked for the panels from whatever she had generations ago and she got combative and verbally abusive. Why don't have on your site that they're tested for all of this, if they're not. She's a liar. All she needed to do was send the results- but she doesn't have them. Any reasonable breeder can easily access that info and send. My last cat who died unexpectedly came with that, I didn't need to even ask. You may get lucky and get a healthy cat, but as you can see on these reviews it seems a majority of people are dealing with cats with tons of parasites or FIV/FELV. I have nothing but glowing words to say about Jane from Rockcreek Ragdolls. My daughter has wanted a Ragdoll for years and had been following Jane's Instagram, so she was over the moon when we told her we were getting one from Rockcreek Ragdolls. I contacted Jane and she answered right away. We chatted for a bit and I loved her instantly. She was knowledgeable, patient with my 9 million questions (it's a big investment after all), and sent us pictures of the cat she thought would fit best with what my daughter wanted. We put down the deposit and went to pick up the cat directly from Jane. The meeting was magical. The cat was unbelievably, stunningly beautiful, and Jane sat with us giving us all the information we needed for the transition. She sent us home with tons of toys, food, insurance information, a pet carrier, and even gave my daughter Sienna a yoga studio for cats because she knew Sienna was planning to do yoga with her new cat. It was such a positive experience that two days later we opted to get a second cat from her! For the second kitten, Jane went out of her way to have her pet nanny deliver her (who was also super sweet), and she did so in a torrential rainstorm. I've personally called Jane several times since with questions about grooming, shampoo recommendations, and how to maintain these beautiful cats to stay beautiful (they do take effort!). She's always been helpful and responsive. Jane is incredibly upstanding - she takes care of her 93-year-old parents and her family while running this business. According to the pet nanny, Jane consistently has some of the most beautiful cats and one of the cleanest and best facilities she has ever seen. Our experience with Jane and Rockcreek was stellar, and we now have two unreasonably gorgeous Ragdoll cats that live up to every stereotype and Ragdoll personality trait there ever was. Please beware of this breeder. She sold us a sick cat: upper respiratory infection, parasites and ear infection. We spent hundreds to get him well. But the real shocker here is that she gave us paperwork saying he was neutered and he was not. We had to have him neutered because for a boy cat, we didn't want him to spray. She became combative and then unresponsive when we asked her to make it right. We ended up having to take her to court where we received a judgement against her. I am writing this to help others because many of these reviews are older and people need to know that she is dishonest about the health of the cats she sells. When I told her about it, she said her only option was to give me another kitten, despite her "5 year health guarantee" that allegedly covered both illness and genetic defects. She "does not give refunds" and expects me to shell out on the vet bills myself. The health guarantee is totally useless, and now I'm left with (although loving and sweet) a permanently disabled cat and no financial recourse. Our issue with her business was that the delivery date was changed last minute, and they weren't very accommodating about it. She also said that she would reach out after Kevin was sold to another buyer so we waited for two months. Had been following Rock Creek Ragdolls on instagram for over a year and decided to send in an application and deposit. Jane doesn't get back to you to even acknowledge she received any of it until you bug her multiple times. Then randomly she send a kitten photo with no context a few weeks later. Embarrassingly I took the bait and paid not only the $500 deposit but an additional $2000 because she said he was "show quality." (He is not) . She did help set up his delivery (we live in Colorado) but he arrived with ear mites and an upset stomach. She checked in the first 2 days and then radio silence. I asked several times for his paperwork/vaccination records due to needing to take him to the vet and she never replied back. We don't even know when he was born or what vaccinations he had previously. Two months later and still dealing with an unwell kitten and going through dietary restrictions and such, his bloodwork came back with a high level of infection and inflammations. Now going to get an ultrasound to see if he has FIP. Looking back on her instagram pics, you never saw this kitten in anything she posted. Definitely feel like it was a bait and switch operation with her - most likely having another breeder give her a kitten to pass on. With ear mites and possible FIP - this is NOT a cattery you want to purchase a ragdoll cat from. Do not be deceived by her pictures/website/instagram/tik tok. I've seen some negative reviews. Can't say anything bad about Jane. Actually love her! Her husband just passed away and he'd been ill a while which may account for her radio silence to some people. I however have two beautiful loving healthy (No FIP) purebred Ragdolls, a male seal point and female blue lynx bicolor. I got them about a year apart. They're so gorgeous my houseguests cannot help but comment. They come up to strangers for petting and they're super affectionate and friendly to our other cat. She's a Siamese who lost her kitty friends to old age and cancer, and we wanted a nonthreatening cat to keep her company. We ended up with two. Now all three are happy campers, sleep together, play together and hang out with my husband and me. So I don't know what happened with these other people. Doesn't sound like the Jane I know. Jane was referred to me by another friend who has a seal point from her. Also happy customer. So maybe some of these are sour grapes? Jane always gets back to me. Never heard from her again. This place seems like a reputable cat breeder of Ragdolls. If you check out their website, it is extensive and well done (especially when compared to others). However, a week ago, I called asking to see if she had any Bicolor Ragdoll females available. She said she had a 5 month old Blue Bicolor that was ready to go to a home, but wasn't currently listed online. She didn't mention any of the other kittens on the website, which I found a little odd as I saw several Bicolor females listed that had just been born. In any case, she explained that the reason it was so much older than usual was because it was so sweet, had just been spayed, and they hadn't gotten around to posting it on the website. I asked how much for the kitten. She said $900. I thought, whoa, expensive! I said that the cat breeders I had contacted in San Diego were quoting $600 - $650. She said that was because San Diego is saturated with Ragdoll cat breeders and that I should just buy one from there then (she got a bit testy). She also said that they probably don't neuter and spay at that price, at which I told her, yes, most of them did. But that none of the breeders I had contacted in San Diego had a Bicolor female available. I said I was still interested, but would love to see a photo. She said to email her and she'd send one the next day. I asked her a few other questions about the health guarantee, etc. and everything seemed pretty much on the up and up. She sounded a bit harassed, and she later said she was feeding the kittens. I emailed her promptly that day. No response, as she promised, the next day. I emailed again 2 days later with a short, friendly follow-up. Again, no response. I called and left a message. No return call. I called and left another message the next day. Again, no return call. It's now been about a week since I first talked to her and I have never heard from her again, and it looks like I never will. I can't speak to the quality of the cats. I would have loved to have seen a photo of the Blue Bicolor female and I would have most likely purchased her. However, the lack of follow-up, in other words, the poor "customer support" leads me to give this Ragdoll breeder 1 star. That's fine if that's what you want to focus on, but you are also running a business, and from what I understand, it's a family business. We got our 14-week old kitten from Jane a week ago and we're so happy with the breeding and obvious good care and socialization our kitten got with Jane, I'd wanted a ragdoll for several years and had actually been watching her Rock Creek Ranch Ragdoll youtube channel for a long time. When we were finally ready to get a cat I was thrilled when she had just the right boy kitten available. Jane gave us a list of the litter box, litter, food, etc that she uses so that we could make his transition easy. He adjusted to quickly and one week in to his time in his new home he still hasn't had any accidents outside his litter box. We took the kitten to the vet on his second day; the vet said he was just perfect. He was on schedule and almost finished with all his baby shots, and was already neutered. Regarding some of the other reviews, Jane is indeed VERY busy (she has multiple litters due in the next couple weeks!), so I don't always expect immediate responses but Jane always gets back when she has the chance and she's been so nice answering all my first-time-cat owner questions. Most importantly, we brought home a wonderful, well-adjusted kitten. He is so affectionate to me and my husband and we can't get enough of playing and snuggling with him. His temperament is exactly what we wanted when we sought out a ragdoll, and we're so happy to have added him to our little family. Oh dear. Ms. Balter "talked" us into taking an older kitten, one of which as described in a post below. We wanted to give him a good home and weren't concerned that he was not "show quality" due to his markings (the reason Balter says she couldn't sell the siblings). He apparently had an unadopted sibling, as well. She also stated all her kittens were "spoken for", until old enough for adoption. Adoption day: We walked in to meet our little one and were greeted by no less than 25 kittens, three adult cats and a dog. My husband and I were somewhat startled, given she said she only had a few kittens. We did inquire to the number and she responded by stating that she was "helping out a friend who was also a Breeder." She also went upstairs to get our Ragdoll, who she stated was sleeping in another room. Hmmm...? He 'was' adorable, loving - a perfect companion for our other two healthy cats, and a wonderful addition to our family. Unfortunately, he carried the cat herpe virus (verified) and sickened our cat family, including landing one in icu...$3,500 later. Note: I have left Ms. Balter several phone messages during the course of the past several months: She never returned my calls. Since adoption, we have had expensive vet appointments to treat the cats. All records show our cats were healthy prior to adoption of the kitten from Ms. Balter. It has been a flipping nightmare since we went through her. Her contract states '30 days' for a health screen - blah blah blah - but as the Vet said, 30 days is not enough to see if an animal is truly a carrier, or sick with certain diseases. In our case it was just six weeks after adoption when the poop hit the fan. Last week, our kitten became sick with a flare, was treated, but there must have been an underlying condition (something that she is hiding - hence pushing our beloved kitten AND his sibling (free of charge) if we would take it. We declined). We thought, "oh boy, here we go again. The monthly, rotating "flare"." We never saw what was coming. Meanwhile, after months of unreturned calls and emails and being pressed for answers on his mother's records and reason for death "after childbirth", did I send a rather poignant email last week, asking for answers ASAP. She responded - sort of - but not in a morally responsible way: She says she will not give info by email - and that I need to call. OK - one last chance. Not only do I need answers, but our vets do, as well. So, I have called; again, she does not return messages or answer the phone. She must be afraid of incriminating herself. To add insult to injury, yesterday, while I was at work, my son called me stating our kitten was very quiet. An hour later, he called back for an update and I told him to take him to the ER. I called the Animal Hospital to advise and instructed them to call me at work upon diagnosis. The Vet did, only to tell me that he was DOA. He apparently had a seizure of some type. Shock, is how we all have felt. I have never, ever had to go through a fiasco like this. You can be assured that my family and I are going to make sure Ms. Balter is breeding cats responsibly and not selling sick pets to anyone, anymore. Her behavior, along with hindsight, sums it up. Thankfully, my husband was with me during the adoption process, and we, as well as our Vets, have all pet records (and emails). My suggestion: Do not adopt from this woman. She is deceitful and has no morals. Please do not put your pets in jeopardy, nor become attached to a kitten/cat who may one day pass away from concealed health history. To all the legitimate Breeders: Please do your best to keep your cats and kittens healthy. You have an obligation to release information on health histories on the pets you sell and/or give away. We know that not every Breeder (i.e. Ms. Balter) is unscrupulous, but want to emphasize the responsibility you have to the animals, and us human parents. The worst of this situation: We have always rescued our pets prior to adopting from Balter. The only reason we sought out a Ragdoll was because our former cat had died in April, at the age of 14. He lived a long and happy life and had been the "big daddy" to a kitten we had rescued in 2006. When our older cat passed, his buddy went into depression and actually mourned the loss of his pal. We wanted a breed of cat that would be a good fit for his surviving feline friend, and were suggested to look into a Ragdoll. Even as a six-month-old kitten, he assimilated perfectly, and became such a good buddy. Today, he is now in mourning again. He has been sleeping underneath the covers most of the past two days and so sadly, looking for his little brother. We, as humans, have the ability to try and understand death, but how do you think our pets feel when they suddenly loose a companion? I can't write anymore. I'm sickened and in tears. I was so excited to be getting a ragdoll kitten. After I gave Jane my deposit, I had to wait from April until October to finally get a kitten of her choice. That's okay, I thought it was worth the wait. I had the cat less than 10 days and then spent almost $1500 in emergency vet services because the kitten had a fever and became very ill and dehydrated. I had to put her to sleep in less than 8 weeks. She had FIP (look it up.) Jane seemed to feel genuinely concerned about this and about my loss and offered another kitten which I waited again months for, and then, again it was a kitten of her choice...5 months old. What are the odds of getting another sick cat with FIP again? Within 3 months, my family had another emotional loss of a sweet little animal....FIP again. Jane said she thought she knew which cat it came from. If you are not familiar with FIP, look it up. It is fatal. It is contrtacted mainly from multiple cats using the same cat box and spreading the virus through feces. I have not heard from her regarding the refund I requested, only for the initial cost of the cat. I spent thousands trying to keep these two kittens alive and ended up with nothing but two cremated kittens. I use a very reputable vet in Westlake Village, CA. She went above and beyond to run tests on my kittens once they died to confirm FIP. Just saying...Great for those who ended up with healthy cats. What kind of person continues to sell sick animals without a care about how the loss effects the families she sells to? And not to mention the money spent in desperation to save these kittens! We just adopted a kitten from Jane and no words can describe how happy we are. We are newlyweds and became interested in rag dolls when a good friend of ours adopted one too(also from Jane) Jane deserves a five star review. The other reviews make me sad because we have done so much research on rag dolls and breeders and genuinely could not be happier with Jane. From what I have observed, Jane is very passionate about rag dolls, and it shows with her educational back ground, and knowledge of this amazing breed of animals. It is clear that her cats are extremely well taken care of, and properly loved. It is a full time career taking care of these kittens. Jane is also particular who she let's adopt her kittens. Wouldn't you be? Harlow the cat is breathtaking. He is so cuddly(he sleeps with me every night) and just so healthy looking and laid back. Harlow has the sweetest disposition. He is liter trained, eats well, has well adjusted to our house in days, and is so adorable to watch. This cat changed our lives. He is a positive addition to our family. I just wanted to update my review... we bought a second kitten from Jane in December and, once again, it was the best decision!! We work all day and felt bad that our first kitten was home by himself all day. Ragdolls love people so much, and ours especially. So we decided to get a friend for him and didn't hesitate to contact Jane. I told Jane exactly what I wanted personality wise and this kitten did not disappoint! He is absolutely GORGEOUS, a purr monster, and as sweet as can be. Jane and her husband gave us some tips to help the two get along when we brought the new one home but we didn't even need them... within 4 -5 hours they were chasing each other around the house. They are inseparable now :) I'm shocked by the reviews that say that Jane's house is dirty and smelly. I consider myself pretty OCD about germs and cleanliness and am shocked by how CLEAN her house is. I even asked her how she keeps it so clean with so many cats. I struggled with just one! Her house doesn't have any fur anywhere and absolutely DOES NOT smell like litter. If you are expecting it to smell like roses, please be realistic. She has animals, many of them, and everything that comes with that (food, litter, etc). Having candles is unsafe around cats that can jump on everything and spraying air freshener isn't healthy either. With that being said, Jane's house still has no odor. My house smells considerably more like "cat" than hers does, which still amazes me. I love animals more than I love people and I would never support buying animals from a breeder that treated them poorly or kept them in unclean living conditions. Can I give this negative stars!?!?! FOR STARTERS!.. I wanted to purchase 2 babies. So I found Jane and figured she would be amazing to work with. WRONG. IF YOU WANT CATS DO NOT PURCHASE RAGDOLLS FROM THIS WOMAN!!!! I had contacted her in early September looking for 2 boys. She said they would be ready to be fixed around Thanksgiving and I would have them the second week of December. Well December came and went. She will say she didn't send them to me because he husband got sick and almost died. I said to her my brother passed away and I know what stress she was going through. She said no, I don't know the pain because I am not paying the bills. WTF!!!? Regardless, She said I would have my babies in December. Turns out, they were only 8 weeks old when she promised they would be fixed. She knew this and lied. When I got their paper work, they were born October 1. How in the hell are you going to fix them at 8 weeks old?! I was under the impression they were at least 13 weeks. Well they weren't. The drama of dealing with Jane, being lied to, having my phone calls not returned, and the straight up disregard she had for anyone else was NOT worth the $1800 I spent. Furthermore, I wanted the cats. After everything, she still didn't get them fixed. I told her if I don't get them, I want a refund. Well she refused to do that. I said ok, if you can't get them fixed, I will. She said ok, I pay $65 to get them fixed I'll refund you that. SHE FORGOT TO MENTION SHE GETS A DISCOUNT, and when I called around for the cost to fix 2 cats it was closer to $300. She at first did not want to give me the $300. Saying she raised them for nothing and she has never worked with a client as difficult as I am. Anyone else would gladly do it on their own. I work hard for my money, I will not gladly do it! Regardless, she sent me a check for $150. SHE STILL OWES ME $150. SO IF YOU READ THIS JANE, YOU OWE ME MONEY AND YOU ARE A HORRIBLE CATTERY. When trying to orcastrate a time with her "friends" to pick up the cats it was like freaking pulling teeth. They did not respond to emails, and to pay $300 to pick them up from the airport, felt more like a drug deal once they handed the cats over. Once I received my cats, they were beautiful. One has had a bad eye infection since I got him on January 22. Also for being a "SOCIAL" cattery, that is complete BS!! To this day, you still can not get close to the one cat. You would think he never had social contact. You look at him and he runs. This is the least social cat I ever met. The other one comes to me but not my fiance. They are terrified of all other people. In an email Jane wrote me, she said "they love the vacuum" Uhm, NO! Everything I have written, can be proven by documentation via the emails I have sent back and forth with Jane. I sincerely urge whomever wants to purchase a cat from Jane to reconsider. It will be one of the most difficult and stressful situations you will experience. When you are paying that kind of money for a baby, you expect to work with a professional. Not someone who is not only moody, hard to get in touch with (for every 10 phone calls she would eventually call you back), but a liar. I do not deal with people that lie. From when I would get the cats, to their actual age, to the money she owed me, she lied. She is so full of crap pretending to be a caring individual. When I told her I wanted a refund, she started to scream at me. In addition, Jane finally contacted me, one month after I have had the cats to see how they are. Hi Jane, The two retired breeders that we purchased from you are getting better and better every day. They play and make me laugh. Courtney has become my baby girl - Paul Newman has adopted my husband. Newman jumps up on the bed and throws himself down next to Hap and demands to have his tummy rubbed and I do mean demands. He wraps a paw around Haps arm and pulls - he is very strong. Courtney is a lady. She hops up on my bed and purrs in my ear to wake me up in the morning. If I don't respond fast enough she climbs on my chest and licks my face. She is the dearest little girl. I am enchanted by that little pixie face. Newman on the other hand, is like a wrestler. When he sits on my chest I wake up thinking I'm having a heart attack. That guy weighs about 25 pounds. Add his huge winter coat to the huge body and you have one hell of a cat. My daughter passed away last month and the kitties seemed to know I was very sad. They let me cry into their fur and then washed my face. Thank you for my beautiful babies I'll send pictures soon. We just purchased our 3rd Ragdoll from Jane Balter-Rock Creek Ranch Ragdolls Cattery. Unfortunately we lost our first cat from lung cancer at age 5. It had nothing to do with this Breeder. It was a fluke. The female from the same litter is thriving. I was beside myself with my loss. I contacted Jane and she was unbelievably sympathetic. Over the years she had paid attention to my posts and commented on a picture that I had posted of Cosmo at Halloween a few years back. She helped me pick the best match form my female Ragdoll. I will never replace Cosmo in my heart but our baby Zeus will certainly bring joy to our family. For the record, in my excitement I wrote the check to me, my name on the ckeck. So embarrassed. Jane was more than gracious and laughed it off. She is a wonderful,caring person who I highly recommend. We have recently bought a ragdoll kitten from Rock Creek Ranch Ragdolls breeder as first time pet owner and she made sure we went through the worse case a first timer can experience. - She sold a show kitten for a price of a breeder one. - She promised TICA certification which we haven't received after so many months. - She lied throughout the process and avoid meeting us as much as she could, and never kept most of her promises. - She is totally unprofessional and never worked things out with us to get a proper pet. The entire time she gave us, to meet her and pick up the cat, was no longer than 40 minutes. - She is mistaking cats for chickens and throws food on the floor for her kitties to eat. - She never advised us to see the cat before neutering it which made it impossible to pick another cat. in those 40 minutes in her house we made more bonds with other kittens and barely even see ours. He was so shy to get out from under the couch which we thought it was because he was neutered, but his conditions still to some extend persist. She does seem to take advantage of the first time and un-experience buyers and we felt responsible to share this with others and warn them about such breeders. read more

I love my cats- A LOT, but they are both in poor health (both cats had upper respiratory infections my vet said could only be transferred from other cats) from day 1. My experience with Jane was so awful I cannot help but to tell my story and suggest you buy these wonderful breed of cats elsewhere. When I first met Jane she was very nice, and the day I met her I purchased 2 kittens. Her house smelled AWFUL which I have now researched, and it says to not buy from anyone who's house has a smell. I made some mistakes buying from Jane, but I love my cats so dearly I can't say I regret the pricey lesson. I am the proud owner of 2 beautiful ragdoll cats (a blue mitted girl and a seal bicolor both pet quality). Needless to say, I am in love with the breed and wish to purchase another ragdoll because we simply have too much love to give 2 cats. I am disabled and live with a caregiver who also takes care of the cats- we are mommy and daddy. I had a very unprofessional experience purchasing my current ragdolls; our runt male was not neutered because Jane confused him with a different cat and the girl has asthma and suspected IBS. We have spent tons of money on vet bills and for 2 $650 cats that just shouldn't be the case, the breeder has also not paid for the neuter or any medical bills, although she did offer to replace my baby girl which instantly made me start bawling... That's my baby, I am not giving her away for anything or anyone for any reason and I am just happy that I am her mommy and I can afford to make sure shes medically taken care of. My ragdoll cats are my whole world and I think of them like children- we spare NO EXPENSE for the happiness, health and well being of our babies, but the vet bills alone were far over the 650 we spent on each cat.After we took the cats in about 10 times to the vet, they suggested i call the breeder and complain. I did that, after having the cats about 8 months. I should have called sooner, but I am so in love with my cats I couldn't bring myself to complain until the vet told me I needed to. Jane eventually offered me a free cream point kitten that she had and said her and her husband would drive it up for 100 dollars. I said I knew it cost more than that to raise a cat and offered 200. A few weeks later I called her and she told me that her cream cat she had offered me free and sent me videos of and even started calling it by the name I was going to call it already had a deposit. I had my mom paypal her the 200 dollars and she said I needed to pay the carriers who would fly the cat up, but this was not the original deal, she said she would drive them up and that is by far my preference, so once again she asked her husband and they agreed to drive the cat up. She told me there was still hope i could get the cat if the lady who put down the deposit could be persuaded into a different kitten. Jane told me if the woman picked up the cream male she would call me asap to let me know, but this also didn't happen. I called her a few weeks later (this was around the holidays) and she said she would drive up a few kittens and let me pick one for the same 200 dollars. This was her only cream, she claims to have confused the cat again, but this is just silly- creams look different than any of the cats she had at that time, she should have checked if there was a deposit on him before offering him to me. Our male and female get lots of "mudbutt" very often and when I talked to a more legitimate breeder she said that is not common in healthy cats. Our female is so fluffy she cant bathe herself and we need to trim and or shave her, although now we know the cats butts need regular shavings along with the base of their tail to keep them clean for the rest of their lives. The ragdolls are amazing cats, but ours are not in the best of health and I firmly believe that is because we got them from Jane, who has proven to me more than once that she can't tell her kittens apart. Jane has not contacted me one time since I got the cats, even when she said she would. She has broken many promises and sold me sick cats. I love my cats and I do not blame them for being sick, I am sick too, and if people just stopped caring about me because of that I would have a very empty life and I treat my cats the way I would like to be treated (if I were a cat). I called Jane a few weeks ago and briefly asked for my 200 dollar deposit back, she said she was going to bed and would return my moms money the next morning. My mom got her money back the day I posted this- weeks later, I tried to contact her multiple times about it- but only a negative review made her give money back. Jane said many breeders had contacted her,which is a lie because i have only spoken to 2,one of which never heard of her, the other had heard over 10 complaints.She called me an a**hole and said i didn't love my babies because of this review and flagged it the day it was posted read more

We just got our second kitten from Jane .We just love her kittens. They are soo healthy, beautiful markings and loving . Jane raises the kittens with love and thinks of them as her own for forever.. She is a very caring person and her kitten show the love she gives them. I have talked with other breeders, but they don't care about the whole kitten like Like Jane does. She sends you home with food and toys for your new kitten and your old cat, she calls to see how the cats are doing , I feel she is a friend not a breeder of our kittens. Like others have stated before me, she replied promptly when I first emailed her of my serious interest in one of her kittens. I put down a deposit and rarely heard from her for 5-6 months, I waited patiently. She probably texted me 5 times within that time frame with just videos and excuses. I understand that s**t happens and I told her that I was willing to wait on another litter if she did not have the type of ragdoll I wanted and then some. She does have beautiful ragdolls though but at the end of the day I was disappointed with her lack of communication. I was willing to pay off the cost of my potential kitten so she knew that I was a serious buyer!!! I mean, what seller (of any kind) would pass up that kind of business? She then sent me a pic of a 12-14 month old kitten she did have available but I respectfully declined, BUT she had another kitten pictured alongside the one she said was available and I inquired about the other kitten. I said if he was available that I would pay in full right now - no response for weeks on her end. You see a pattern here? Do not waste your time with this breeder... We were very patient. More than we needed to be. After all went well with her husbands heart transplant. I had finally after 16 months simply decided no more. She was not responding to texts or face book messenger. She did however delete me as a friend. (Yet another red flag). I think she thought i was just going to go away. Really? She had our money and we had ashes of our dead kitten! Finally after long still tempered texts she finally responded. I asked her for a refund and her reply was. . Well, Craig's anti rejection meds are so expensive. WTF like so thats a reason not to pay us back? I was getting seriously fed up at this point. I offered her a payment plan and so reluctantly she agreed to make a payment via paypal on the 3rd week of every month. I said that would be fine and accepted an initial $50.00 payment as a good faith payment. But as soon as she had kittens that I needed to be made whole and paid in full as not to keep going back and forth with her. I was done and wanted to move forward. Put this difficult experience with this breeder behind us. Well each month. 3rd week as she agreed to remit payment. No payment was made. I had to continue to remind her to please pay me. Wtf ? We had an exchange of words via text and i told her i was done. I didn't want to continue this back and forth with her. Seriously it was just a continued pouring of salt into the deep hearted wound of grief.. We had lost our baby Baby Bella and she did not care one bit. I told her that that she dis nit pay me back the balance in full I was going to report her and her cattery Rock Creek Ranch Ragdoll's to TICA (for selling me an un spayed kitten that was suppose to have been spayed. It was in the cost of purchase, which I paid), that I was going to post a review here on Yelp and on Facebook as well as reporting her to BBB as well as to small claims court.. She responded with a letter she wanted me to sign. Basically that I would have to pay her 5,000.00 for slander of her name and cattery. Seriously! Time after time I had asked her to please just do the right thing here. Pay us back and we're done! I refused of sign it of course. I had to literally say. I'm done. I'm pissed off now. You have 5 days to remit final payment. I had every intention of filing a small claims case against her. She remitted final refund payment. It was a ling and frustrating experience with this breeder and her cattery. She is unethical and a liar. I forgot to mention. She said she had no kittens and medications were expensive, but was found to have been actively buying and selling kittens. FB is "social media" another breeder had posted the purchase if a show/breeder in her page from Jane of Rock Creek Ranch Ragdoll's really? That was a $2,500.00 sale more or less that she clearly profited. Plus she had posted new litters being being born in her cattery on a public website. Trust me I called her out on her BS lies. Please please please DO NOT buy any kittens from her unless you want to go through what we have. She is in it clearly for the money. Not for the love of this amazingly beautiful breed. She does not care about you or your cat/kitten(s) once the sale is done and final payment is made. Read all the reviews. Stay clear if this cattery. I feel so sorry for these animals. My biggest fear was getting 2 cats that were not in perfect health. I took them to the vet. He examined and tested them and said they were very healthy. Now I see my fear was silly. I found out that Ragdolls are very similar to dogs and so they can please dog and cat lovers. They are perfect family members and pets too. I spoke with Jane once and she also told me to call back the next day. I did and then called again the day after that. I have yet to hear from her. I'm so frustrated with all these cat breeders. I've had cats my whole life and now it seems I have to jump through hoops just to get in contact with anybody. Worst of all, nobody seems to want to show pictures of their kittens. If they do happen to contact you, they just want some kind of deposit first before they will do any kind of business with you. My room mate purchased 2 ragdolls from Rock Creek Ranch months and months ago. She is sick and I am her caretaker and room mate. I also take care of the cats. I've lived with cats all my life and know how to take care of them. The cats we got are well tempered and very affectionate and good cats. But from the day she brought them home theres been health problems. Both came with upper respiratory infections Day 1. Both have had some trouble with mud butt. The female has asthma and possibly IBS. We have had extensive testing done by the best vets I could find in the area. These kind of problems are not from the treatment of the cats but from birth and should have been detected before the cats were adopted out. Both cats were suppose to be spayed/neutered before we got them, their paperwork says so. The male cat was NOT. We had to pay out of pocket(on top of initial costs of the cats) to get him neutered, something that is ridiculous for a breeder to overlook/get confused about. The female with asthma will be on medication for the rest of her life. These are things the breeder should have been aware of any cat she was selling BEFOREHAND. After my room mate contacted the seller about these issues it became harder and harder for her to get in contact with the seller. She'd dodge her calls and e-mails and she'd only hear from her weeks apart. The woman actually offered to EXCHANGE our female cat for a new one. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, who would want to "trade in" their pet, especially after having had it for months and months? What kind of mindset is that? No one I know who cares about their animals would/should ever suggest that. The woman just wanted the problem gone. If we had returned our cat who knows how the woman would have treated it. After my room mate refused to "trade in", the woman offered my room mate a new kitten for free. We have been wanting another ragdoll anyways so we accepted the offer. But it never happened. The cat promised to us was SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE after we had put down a deposit. She never followed up with us after that incident. She dodged all my room mates attempts to contact her for *weeks* My room mate asked for her deposit back when she finally did get in contact with the seller. She said she'd do it next day. Never happened. Room mate waited/tried to contact her over the next few weeks and was dodged over and over. Eventually she went and posted a negative review here on yelp. THAT DAY the seller refunded the deposit and then the review was 'hidden' here on Yelp. Only then did she then contacted my room mate. She actually called my room mate an asshole. When my room mate purchased the cats the home she went to had dozens and dozens of cats and smelled horrible. She had way more cats that should be in such an enclosed place. The woman just breeds them and sells them and runs it like a kitten mill just to make money. She is very unprofessional. She is all nice and prompt until she has your money then she is gone. If you have any problems she won't resolve them. The paper work we received with the cats is filled out incorrectly and just not filled out completely in some parts. We love our cats and DO NOT regret buying them at all. But we DO regret dealing with this woman and her kitten mill. We are glad we got these cats, we feel we have SAVED THEM from a horrible place. Who knows what this woman does with the sick cats she cant pawn off on people. She had dozens just at her home. I wouldn't be surprised if she just puts em down or drowns the ones she cant trick people into buying. Do not buy from her. We will be reporting her to any organizations or government agencies we can. She is most likely not taking care of her dozens of cats properly. Do not deal with this woman unless you want to see for yourself and maybe save a kitten or two from her clutches. We have heart ache over our cats conditions but nothing like the stress and anxiety my room mate has gone through dealing with the seller. Totally unacceptable, unprofessional behavior. BEWARE. I can only say that the happiest time of our lives aside from our wedding and our daughter being born was dealing with Jane and RCRRC/Jane! She is so loving, passionate and considerate. I was so thrilled and happy with "Casey", my blue point bi-color ( who now weighs 18 lbs.) that I purchased another Ragdoll from Jane...a beautiful seal lynx bi-color named Angel. As time passed, I have added 3 more beautiful Ragdolls to my family from Jane. They are so healthy and well-socialized...just a joy to have in my life. And...if I happen to have any questions, all I have to do is pick up the phone and Jane will answer any and all my concerns. You may be able to purchase a kitten for less money, but you won't get the health, quality, and sweet temperament that you will find with Rock Creek Ranch Ragdolls, who are raised without cages and have free run of the house. We purchased our kitty, Oliver from Jane in April of 2013 and he is the light of our lives. He is stunning with the most amazing crystal blue eyes and exquisite coat. My 4 year old totes him around everywhere she goes like a big ol' snuggly teddy bear. He holds a true "ragdoll" disposition and is the sweetest cat I've ever seen. We moved recently and I thought he would go into hiding, but NO! He adapted right away and is always right at home whether he is at the vet for a checkup, in our home or anywhere else. We have a groomer come to our home to groom him once every two months and she is always amazed that he just lays down and lets her bathe him, trim him, shave him, trim his nails and brush his teeth without a single fuss. He is very inquisitive and loves to explore. He has never been skittish and welcomes anyone into our home as a friend. He likes playing, but is equally as content cuddling. I guess, all I can say is that Jane breeds quality cats and I would recommend this breed and breeder to anyone and everyone looking for a family cat. read more
