This place had reasonably priced items by smaller artists that made it very approachable. I bought a piece for like 400, which in the scheme of something hanging on your walls for decades isn't too bad. I visited a bunch of other galleries that were stuffy and had very expensive stuff. This gallery has a lot of things that regular, "non-art", people would buy and hang on their wall. I researched a few of the artists in there and they all seemed like fairly new artists that were getting their feet wet, so it feels good to support them.

Nelly Duff is one of those places you'll want to stop on by. If you like street art and are looking for something from some very talented up and coming artists, this will be the place to get it. Starting from £100 you can purchase some fabulous prints, they even frame them for you! I love it so much because it really is affordable art. They have a keen eye as to what's on trend right now so you get some of the best up and coming names on display. It's also great for iconic London prints, postcards and small Christmas presents. If you know a Londoner and you are struggling to by them a gift, this shop can help.

I ventured into this art gallery here because a couple paintings in the window caught my eye - nice…read morecityscapes built around that allure of glowing lights juxtaposed with the more rough and harsh dark outlines of streets and buildings - I like that sort of thing. They also had some interesting pieces inside... a couple of small sculptures, and other pictures reminiscent of the ones in their window display, but to be honest, I didn't pay too much attention, because shortly after entering in the store, I looked at the little card next to a picture and realized it was a giclee - that nouveau form of printmaking where paint is sprayed onto canvas to make it look as if it's an original - when actually there are usually thousands more out there exactly like it. So I admit, I'm something of an art snob, but what can I say, I like *originals* - and especially since one of these claptrap giclees is going to run you well into the thousands of pounds anyway... unless you're absolutely madly in love with a particular image, I say, let the galleries keep their giclees, and use the money you would have spent to invest in a piece of original art that may actually hold or increase in value down the road.

Right now they have a mini show on Marilyn Monroe. All of them photos with the diva in her different stages, and moods. They are really keen on doing this mini shows on well-known celebrities, right now its Marilyn, but they have done The Rolling Stones exhibit, and even Bob Dylan. Some of the photos are really good, I don't know about the paintings though... I guess it's a matter of taste.

I was visiting Saatchi during their Flowers installations. The collection was just ok, could be better. Since there is admission fee I was expecting more art works on the view. Saatchi is accessible facility with walking distance to public transport. Crew at Saatchi are engaging and very helpful. With so many other galleries and museums in London, I wouldn't recommend visiting unless they have interesting artworks on view that compromise the entrance fee.

We spent almost four hours going through exquisite jewelry collections and learning about the company's history, designers and inspiration for their creativity. Everything that I see in this shop inspires me. I know that art is objective, but there is something about the contents of this shop that make me think that anything brought here would be a wise purchase. On a Sunday the artist, Sharon Elphick is often here. She sells her work here. They are large prints, or on canvas of patterns of letters, textures, numbers, skies, buildings. They are truly beautiful, and well worth seeing. She also sells work from other artists here. (and runs a blog about all the art in the shop - check out her website blog for more details). One of my favourite prints in this shop is by a label called Dandy Star. It is just a simple print with the letters LOVE emblazoned across it, and call me a sucker for modern art, but I L O V E it too.

The stuff you see on the walls always leaves you feeling like you have been educated in some way and that your mind has been expanded. Some of the visuals can be pretty moving, just because of the subject matters that are presented to the viewer. If you are a FOTO8 member you can get reduced price entry for certain exhibitions. Generally it isn't as pricey as the National Portrait or the Tate so it won't break the bank and I really cannot recommend paying this place a visit.

And another work about Thamesmead that was equally as interesting. The showings rotate, so it's really luck of the draw as to what you'll see. The gift shop is epic. They have so many books that I wanted to get, but alas, I am but a disabled traveller, unfit for carry large volumes across the pond. Most importantly, they sell all types of film in the shop. Film and even cameras. Who needs candy when you can lick the delicious toxic chemicals of celluloid?

My daughter is a ceramic artist so I have spent a lot of time looking at and collecting beautiful pieces of ceramic art. This one is special. I live in the USA but when I saw it, I just had to have it and the shop wrapped it carefully so that I could transport it safely back home in my luggage. This came with a wall hanger. I can't wait to find the perfect place for it so that I can enjoy looking at it for many years. Gorgeous! I love the bold color and organic inspired pattern.

I really like the fact that Skylark offers inexpensive pieces of art as art is something I always love to look at but never have the money to buy. I would really recommend you support Skylark as these artists are independent, upcoming / established and exhibit work that's varied and original. You can pick up some cool pieces of art in here and I got a really cool painting for my Mum's birthday in here once. A brilliant place to get something thoughtful or pretty to brighten-up your wall at home, a must for art buffs.
