Yeah... you can say I was a tomboy…read more Scraped knees, monkey bars, steal-the-bacon, kicking everyone's ass in tetherball and 4-square (or for those who were good enough, 2-square) are just a few fond memories of the place I spent the majority of my childhood. Kindergarten brings back memories of playing "house", growing silk worms, show-and-tell, nap-time, and mourning the class pet chick's unfortunate death when the tower of blocks came crashing down upon it. Mrs. Messemmer, my teacher, was a kind hearted lady, with curly gold locks and a warm smile. Funny how after all these years I still remember her name. Fast forward to my last year of elementary. 5th grade was taught by a younger teacher named Mr. Green. One of the girls in my class had the hugest school-girl crush on him, it was so obvious and pretty funny. My best friend and I were the teacher's pet of the class, which was cool because he let us get away with a lot of things, like coming in late from lunch, etc. Haha. Overall, it was a happy time for me. It was conveniently located near a McDonalds, Welch Park, and now that I realize it, it was right next to Long Phung Sandwiches (I love their eggrolls!) Assuming they were in business for that long. I'd give it 5 stars, but over the years the area has become sketchy. Back then, in the good ol' days, when everything was innocent and safe, this was a great school to go to.

It's located next to a park that was known for gang banging and by the looks of it, it probably hasn't changed much. I bring this up, because the school has also been tagged with what appears to be gang related graffiti. The parking lot is horrendous! Let's just say I'm glad my kids don't go here on a regular basis. It's a drive up/pick up parking. People have the tendency to double park anywhere and sometimes leave their cars which causes mass chaos. Also, the fence to the parking lot is also attached to gate that and entrance to the pedestrians/students. It appears that they do not open the gate completely, therefore the children must enter up the driveway. It makes no sense to endanger the children when they can simply slide the gate open completely which would allow the children to use the gate appropriately. Instead the children must walk though the the congested car exit. It's an accident waiting to happen. I give this location 1 star for the lack of thoughtfulness if the safety of the children.

Not just academically but also when it comes to kindness, love, care, and character building for all the children modeled by teachers and staff. Even though it is not a religious school, I feel there are more love and compassion in this school more than any other religious place I've been to. Everyone, the principle, teachers, staff, students, fellow parents, all are so caring and making every member of the school feel so special and loved. Children need love! I feel so good dropping Jake's off each day at school and he loves going to school so much! Alexander keeps saying how come Jake's school is so cool and all Jake's teachers love him so much!! They also organize a lot of cool events. They want the children to be well rounded. The school relies heavily on staff and parent volunteers since it does not have much funding and it serves mostly low income students. Yet everyone serves with all their heart !! Still contemplating on moving Alexander over to Jake's school. ROMO with all our hearts!!

I think we got lucky to get into this school and so far we love it. The school is small and don't have much parking but the school create and organize really smart and convenient way for parents to drop off and pick up the kids. All the teachers are really nice and friendly. I get my answer back whenever I have concerns about my kid (through texts messages and in person). My kids are happy and improved everyday I can tell. I am proud and happy that my children are in a good environment and being successful.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for Ms Roy, Ms Kritika, Ms Tarika and…read morethe entire kindergarten team. They are amazing educators, and we couldn't speak more highly of them. My son recently completed the kindergarten program here and I want to speak about our experience while it's fresh in my mind. We have been so extremely happy by the academic growth he achieved this year. He is now reading confidently, working at a level ahead in math, and writing complete paragraphs. We appreciate the structured curriculum and thoughtful lesson plans that challenged him and helped him build a strong academic foundation. Thank you to his teachers and the supporting staff for their role, we can't recommend this program enough. Please consider scholars if you have any tk/kinder aged children.

It was the right decision, because we have seen her grow so much from her time at scholars. The teachers really pour their heart into nurturing and caring for the kids. She comes home with amazing art work, work sheets and tells us about all the new things she learns every week. They organize a lot of events where parents get a chance to connect with teachers and other parents. The annual spring and winter concerts are very well organized and it's rewarding to see the community come together. Overall it's been a very fulfilling experience and we're glad we found scholars ! They encourage outdoor playtime and also hone kids' personal preferences as well. Their reports are also very detailed and specific for each kid. They have also started meal service which is a huge relief for busy parents. I cannot wait to send my younger daughter to scholars once she's ready.

Unfortunately I hear some on my cousins talk about how much they are scared of going into this teachers class room!!. And let's also talk about the lunch. It's so cold and dry I would starve myself and also a few times the milk would be chunky when I was pouring it into my cereal.
