The front office staff is very pleasant and helpful. The care for my mom was good the first few…read moredays, before she was transferred down the hall for keeping her roommate awake during the night. My mom was almost 99 years old. At the time she arrived at Broadmoor unbeknownst to me or the nursing staff she had a UTI which at her age usually causes a huge spike in dementia. She also had massive fluid buildup in her abdomen. This also spread to her lungs. Dr. Jensen correctly discerned the situation. And ordered a chest exam and antibiotics for the UTI. He also started her on medicine to reduce the fluid buildup. When mom's breathing turned for the worst, Broadmoor called an ambulance. Broadmoor is a small facility compared to some, but I would recommend them based on my experience.

When I got there and checked on mom she was sitting in the dark. She asked about a walker and the girl laughed at mom. Mom asked about getting some water and was brought a hospital size pitcher to which they stuck a straw in and handed it to her. Nurses station had residents sitting around it slumped in wheelchairs. We were looking for rehab not to drop her off into a hell hole. Mom worked as an activity director and administrator in nursing homes. I worked part time in the accounting office of a nursing home. The combination of her personal gifts, professional training, skills, and experience make her an excellent person with whom to work: she is personable, knowledgeable, articulate, and flexible with exercises/treatments as needed. She really listens to clients (more and more a rarity), is attentive to what's going on with one's body during exercises (even when you don't know it) and points out needed improvements in form, placement, etc. One day she noticed that one of my legs looked a little longer than the other when doing an exercise and called me over to do some readjustment movements, something I can do on my own as well. It really helped. The clinic is run efficiently with the engaging and ever efficient Maggie at its helm. It may sound strange to say, but I am sorry when a course of treatment ends! One more thing to say: If you are looking for the big high tech clinics with lots of machines and equipment, this may not be the right place for you. What is of benefit is that every exercise Sylvia taught me in our sessions can easily be reproduced at home with aids that can be acquired from Target or Walmart. From the time you arrive to the time you leave, you know you are in very good hands. Once you arrive, you do not have to wait very long for your therapist to come get you. He/she will help you every step of the way and make you feel very comfortable. The first time I went, I was very nervous because I know my limitations and was afraid they would push me too far. That was not the case at all. They respect what you are telling them and they make extra effort to make sure you are not in danger of harming yourself further by overexerting your limitations. They have aquatic therapy which is what I am currently using. The group that is usually there is small so you really get a lot of personal attention and support. I have a very good feeling that they are going to help me get to where I need to be! I can already tell that I have extra energy. I am excited about the future because they really give me hope!

This tiny cramped office, located in a strip center in front of a Walmart, identifies itself as an…read moreoutpatient hospital. It also bills the same way. In my case, charges accrued until a deductible was met. After that, the sessions, costing up to $520 were covered by my insurance at 20 percent. This was a lot more than a typical copay. I had to ask 3 times about the cost of each session. Each time my request was evaded and shrugged off until I was finally told the truth. I wish had more closely checked my insurance benefits and avoided this place. As less expensive therapy is available, it was anything but a good value.
