This is a Protestant Church. I went here growing up. The people and religious attitude here are…read morerelatively relaxed in that they're not pushy if you come to an event or visit. They have pamphlets if you're interested in joining but the people who come here are here because they are comfortable and want to be here. They're progressive in their beliefs of gay marraige, have had a presentation on Jews for Jesus by a Rabbi and support other types of current human rights issues. Rev. Bizer is a friendly easy person to talk to. This I can vouch for as he came into the hospital to visit my Father in his last week alive. They have Bible groups and are known for starting the Homeless sleepout for the Church's teens to raise money for homelessness. I'm not sure how large the congregation is. It tends to fluctuate. There is a church school and confirmation class. Kind of a Norman Rockwell New England type place and people. The church itself was design by Roland Hazard, one of the historic families of South County. If you ask you may still be able to get a booklet on the symbolism in the church, which is kind of cool, like a search game. They have some yearly events like Ladies' Night and a Chili Cookoff. They also have a Vacation Bible School in the summer. Last year their Men's Group hosted an FBI agent who'd written a book about Whitey Bulger. Recently they had a Hypnotist do a show in their hall. Of course weddings, baptisms as well as memorials are held in the church and hall. AA groups and others use the facilities too.

The worship is spirit filled, the people are friendly and the pastor is real. I emailed the pastor a question, and though we are only there a handful of times throughout the year he personally answered with a thoughtfully and respectfully. The church supports the community with a food bank and special collections throughout the year. If you are looking for a church this is worth a look!!!

I find the sermons at New Life are inspiring and are encouraging whether you're a new Christian or your faith has been around for a while. The worship is contemporary and easy to follow. Everyone participates so it's not like anyone is going to notice my off-key contributions! The people are friendly enough but it's still RI so it's only natural it takes time to make a friend. Attire seems to be casual although a few folks dress up. That's nice to see but the come as you are is also refreshing. Also, don't leave your coffee in car...bring it on in! Yay!! They seem to genuinely care about people and that's a rare thing in this world.

The events were hard to attend because limited notice would be given. 'Oh this week we are doing ---' To often, we had conflicting plans on that day or couldn't arrange a sitter. Attended a few small groups and also just never felt like things clicked for our family. It was a bummer since this church came so highly recommended. They had an AMAZING praise and worship team!!! And one of the biggest and best kids programs we have found in the area.
