When GREEDY NONSENSE wins over common sense ---…read more I arrived for my procedure, checked in, and was immediately told I had to pay $1,700 upfront. I explained that I had several recent medical visits (urgent care, ER, MRI, and two spinal injections) that all still needed to be processed by insurance, and I preferred to wait until everything cleared so I'd know the actual amount I owed. The front desk told me I couldn't be seen unless I paid at least half. I repeated that I didn't want to pay an arbitrary amount and then have to fight for a refund that could take weeks. I simply wanted them to bill my insurance and charge me the correct amount afterward -- the way every other facility has done. They refused, so I left. A few minutes later, the same staff member called to say she had "rerun" my insurance and now it showed I only owed around $350, so suddenly that amount was acceptable. Which just proved my point -- it clearly fluctuates. What if they ran it again tomorrow and it showed I owed $0? I had fasted for two days, taken a PTO day, spent money on supplies for the prep, and sacrificed time with my son for absolutely nothing because they insisted on collecting an inaccurate estimate up front. This was incredibly unprofessional and showed zero regard for patients' time, money, or basic dignity. I will be taking my care elsewhere. DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY!!!

After some discussion I realized that my definition of tarry stools and The medical professionals definition are different. My definition was that the toilet paper never gets clean. Although I have constant fatigue my iron levels are normal based on the fact that I take iron supplements however the physician's assistant still recommended and endoscopy and a colonoscopy because I'm anemic. I called twice to talk to the physician and was told that I couldn't speak to God Almighty unless I scheduled another appointment and paid another $25 copay. This is the same place that told my daughter that she had celiacs disease after speaking to her for 10 minutes and later retracted that as well. I don't trust this place. I think they're a racket. When you're only tools a hammer every problem looks like a nail.

Ten years ago, when I first went to Gastrointestinal of the Rockies, they were a much smaller…read morepractice with only a couple of locations. At that time, my experience was straightforward and professional. After my procedure, Dr. Kaye clearly told me everything looked great, there were no polyps, and I should return in 10 years. Fast forward to recently, I was contacted by the practice and told I was "due" for another colonoscopy. I questioned this multiple times, specifically asking the scheduler to double-check the notes, because I had been told 10 years. Instead of verifying, I was firmly told I was incorrect and that their records showed I was due at 7 years. Reluctantly, I scheduled the procedure. Days before the appointment, I was informed that the physician I had specifically requested had decided to take the afternoon off. My options were to reschedule or proceed with a different doctor. Since I had already begun the prep process, I had little choice but to move forward. Here is where things become truly unacceptable: As I'm lying on the table, IV in place, the new doctor walks in and asks if I'm having any problems. I say no. He then tells me, "You're not due for a colonoscopy for another three years." This confirmed exactly what I had been saying all along. At that point--after the prep, the disruption, and already being prepped with an IV--I went through with the procedure anyway. But the fact that I was put in that position due to their internal error is inexcusable. Afterward, I made multiple attempts to contact management to understand how this happened. Not a single call was returned by anyone in a leadership position. The only outreach I ever received was from a nurse--not someone accountable for the breakdown. Only after posting a brief, non-detailed negative review (in hopes someone would respond) did I hear anything further--and that was a letter "terminating" me as a patient. The letter was not even signed by a specific individual. This practice has clearly grown, but unfortunately, the professionalism, communication, and accountability have not grown with it. Between: * Incorrect medical scheduling information * Lack of internal communication * Last-minute physician changes * Inability to reach management * And ultimately dismissing a patient rather than addressing concerns ...I cannot recommend this practice to anyone. If you value clear communication, accuracy, and accountability in your medical care, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. PS. ******** Gastroenterology of the Rockies has a mixed to largely negative reputation, with many patient reviews highlighting significant administrative issues, long hold times, and poor communication, leading to low ratings on Yelp (often 2.5 stars or less). While some patients report positive experiences with specific doctors, others complain about disorganized care and difficult scheduling, particularly in the Boulder, Longmont, and Denver locations.******

This is one of the most respectful, knowledgeable, and intuitive doctors I have ever had the privilege of being seen by. I moved to Boulder several years ago and if he wasn't so far away, I would keep going there. I've only met one other doctor in the entire state of Colorado that has his incredible sense and instinct in bedside manner. He's a once in a lifetime physician, especially if you're struggling with things that nobody else can seem to diagnose or treat. For all of these people on here they gave him a one star review for whoever ever answered his phone, SHAME ON YOU! There are very sick patients out there that need this man and just because your feelings got hurt because someone didn't bow down to you when you made a telephone call is absolutely zero reason to give a one star review! Apparently that's the thing to do on our society these days. I will continue to give him five star reviews once a month until his rating goes back up to where it deserves to be. You literally will not find a better physician in Colorado!
