Great place with a great selection. Very knowledgeable. It says I need more characters, is this enough?

A business is always interesting when the customer is the one who has to "greet" first. This was one of those few places on my first visit. But! That alone normally doesn't call for a bad review. Definitely not. Before I go on I wanna say that I'm sure there's plenty of loyal customers that frequent this place. I'm positive of that. But my review isn't the opinions or experience of others. It's mine. Soooo.... on "my" visit, I was the one that had to walk up to a random helper (from front door to counter was roughly 20 steps) and say hi as he and others just stood there and looked at me. It was pretty awkward. I was only able to ask ONE question, and was then asked for ID along with my fiancé. We don't mind being carded, but I find it puzzling to have to present ID just for browsing. I'm in my 40s, she's in her 30s, so many times being carded is a compliment. But the way it was asked was unprofessional and borderline rude. I know it was their store policy as the customer that came in after us didn't get that same treatment (she was asked only before purchase). I can't comment on their selections or prices, though I'm assuming it's pretty competitive and fair. Pretty nice looking place as well. Just the service lol. It needs work. read more

This place is the best! The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable and they will help you with anything you need. I am always impressed with the service I receive when I go there. I have been to a few other shops where the people seem to think the customer knows nothing. Not at Rocky Top! They are respectful and helpful in every aspect! A++++ service!!!! read more

Stopped in to see if they changed this manager too, since they changed Kingsport and Elizabethton managers for the worst people I guess they could find! One is rude beyond belief the other doesn't know what she's doing! So it was so good to see Levi still in his position! Sad I have to drive out of my way to find a store with a decent manager! Best vape shop in town. I had an issue with my vape where every couple days I had to come in and get it repaired (too cheap to buy a new one) and they repaired it every. single. time. Happily. I had a grate experience here. Stopped by to get some juice and coils while passing through town. They had everything I needed and where very charismatic. Maybe not the best looking but that is often the case with the better vape shops I've seen around the country! 10/10 would go again if I stopped by this town again! read more

so i walk into RTV Elizabethton to get some juice and coils. i was told the tanks i use no longer are made and they cant get coils, even though i can drive to the RTV in JC and get them. so i let them talk me into this pod system 75 bucks later i walk out with two of them... i have to say they are great! three days later i go to get some pods/coils and guess what? they dont have any. so i think they could just be out so i buy another new kit to get the coil i need. now i am in over a 115.00 bucks. i wait a week i go to get the coils still no coils call JC i ask her i am told they have no coils either this is a problem with RTV their customer service is the worst i have ever witnessed, I even asked if they would pull a coil from a new one and sell it to me they would not do it so much for customer satisfaction do not use these people or order on line you will not be pleased. RTV you have broke one off in me for the last time this has been an ongoing issue with this store and i have let you know in the past i have been a good customer since you opened your first store never went on line and allways supported the brick and mortar stores. but you guys take the cake i will no longer darken your doors i am done with you at this point i have been lied to too many times go ahead and cancel my account in store i wont be needing it again the account is under Trisha Wilson. oh and look at all the money i have spent over the years that will be gone also you got a star because it would not let me finish with no stars read more

I hope no one else receives the same poor treatment I was subjected to just moments ago. I purchased a vape from Rocky Top (the same store I just left) several months ago. Recently I have encountered a problem with it leaking. After unsuccessful attempts by me and several friends to fix it, the suggestion to ask Rocky Top for advice was made. Today I did just that however I was offered absolutely zero help and am smuggly told by the young employee "it's summertime, they all leak in the summer" I was seeking advice to address my problem and walked in fully prepared to purchase a new coil, o rings, or whatever might have helped. I would even have been satisfied with "sorry about your problem but there's nothing we can do" A sharper employee might have seen an opportunity to try and sell a new product, but no I was just blown off like there were more important things to do (I was the only customer in the store). I enjoy vaping and will continue, and am happy to spend my money in another shop. read more

Our favorite vape store in the area! They had plenty of help, were patient and provided excellent customer service. They have a large store which includes a super cool e juice bar for tasting prior to purchase. I love the variety of juices. They feature their own house line as well as, premium brands like Five Pawns, Suicide Bunny and The Standard. We purchased several Joe's Vapor's flavors and a couple in the Suicide Bunny line. We'll definitely go back when we're in Johnson City. read more

This is the worst shop I've ever been too. When I first started the transition, I went here, not knowing anything, and that was a huge mistake. First I was sold a knock off, at the time I didn't know this so I was excited as I was told all these great things about it. First trip in was several hundred dollars just to go back 2 days later because the device stopped working, and the tank was leaking. Being new to the scene I fell for they, "this is your fault" speech, so I left the Elizabethton shop confused as to how I managed in less that 48 hours to mess something up as bad as they said I did. Also with about 50 bucks worth of stuff they said I needed, but didnt. I went home and sat the mod down and left it for about a week, as I was told by the staff. Once I started using it again, same thing happened so I go back. Same girl, purple hair, tells me I've burnt the coil up.. again my fault, and I believe her, bc she's the professional not me. This goes on for several weeks, making a stop in every two to three days, being told the same thing, it's my fault. While in there I would try new flavors, each time it was like I was asking them for a kidney, it's was such a problem to help. They would sit at the vape bar, "what next" , "here" "what now" knowing I had no clue what these things were. I told them I was used to smoking 3,4,5 packs a day, or Marlboro light 72's, but didn't like the normal tobacco flavors they had and asked for a sweeter vape... Two tries later they had me a pen, I take a big draw and about puked everywhere, it was their artic wolf... keep in mind I just told them what I'm used too, for over 15 years. I leave, because everything was nasty and it was obvious I was a bother to them. I quickly notice if I wasn't one of their friends that were always there I wasn't getting any real help. About 2 weeks later I went to the JC location, explained the issue and what had been done so far... it was at that moment I about lost my cool. I was told by the guy helping me that I was sold a " broken p o.s" as he proceeds to tell the guy next to him that the girl who sold it to me is a joke and does this a lot. He then goes back to his manager to tell her, comes out and says we can give you 10% off but that's it. I laughed and replied, after you just said I was screwed over by your staff that's all you can do, you can't fix this? He answered no, that his manager said I had the device to long and even though I was ripped off it was MY fault for keeping it.. Like I really had a choice. I left that location and went directly to the Elizabethton location. The girl who was a "joke" just so happens to be there and I confront her with what they said. Her faced turned red and she started to cry, got up and went outside to call the owner. She comes back in and tells me she is the manager there and is pissed bc they trashed talked her to me in front of everyone. The next 20 mins is her bashing the JC location, how they are jealous of her, and they are the jokes. Never does she say anything about ripping me off. She does finally say she sorry it happened, I must have got a "bad one" and replaces the tank only, at the owners approval. Does nothing with the knock off mod, but the Delta 2 tank was replaced. About an hour later I finally leave, after her rant. Get home excited that everything is fixed... 2 days later same issue, stops working, tank leaking, and I've touched nothing. Didn't add juice, change the coil nothing, bc I knew they would blame me again. Took it back in, same thing. You're using it wrong, you have to be.. when I tell her I did nothing other than push the firing button she says "then I don't know, there's nothing else I can do." I leave there, get home, put the broken knock off mod on a shelf, where it sit for months. I go back to smoking full time for almost a year bc they put such a bad taste in my mouth. About a month ago I tried again, & absolutely love the new shop. Laughing Kat Vapor is absolutely amazing. Consider yourself warned do NOT trust RTV, go to a real shop with people who want to help. Go to Laughing Kat. They are freaking amazing people with great knowledge and products. I'm now down to a pack a day, and once I finish the pack I have I'm done. GREAT PLACE...... I was in town for business and ran out of juice. I wanted a cinnamon (red hot flavor) but they no longer carried it. I asked for a candy flavored juice (peach or grape jolly rancher type) and after trying a bunch, I decided on Meltdown Vapor "everything's peachy" only to find out they sold the last bottle..... UGH.... they said they had it in the warehouse and if I waited they would go and grab it..... Great Customer service !!!! read more

I think, I am done buying from Rocky Top Vapor. Today, it makes the second time; I purchased hardware from them and was misinformed. Both times I was told a device had certain features and once I got home found out that they did not, or it didn't work as described by employee. The staff I have interacted with, while, friendly and courteous, are not as knowledgeable as they may appear. When I purchase something, from a brick and mortar store, I expect them to have complete knowledge of the item I am buying or have the resources on hand to tell me anything I need to know. The staff here just seems to guess the answer. So, they can just get a sale. Also, when I walk into their store it feels more like people just hanging out rather than employees who have been trained on products they are selling. Customer service, post-sale, is a joke. I am aware that there are no refunds or exchanges. However, when most other retailers sell you a product and claim it does something that it actually doesn't, they will exchange for a similar product that does or will refund your money within a certain amount of time. I understand that the nature of some vaping devices, especially tanks and drip tips, would be difficult to resale due to hygiene issues. However, when a salesperson misinforms the customer then the store should be willing to eat the cost in order to make customers happy. That is just good business practice. I know that Rocky Top Vapor is a popular vape shop in the area, If not the most popular. I am not trying to be demeaning to them or their employees. I am only sharing my experience in hopes that Rocky Top Vapor will improve its training and policies going forward. Otherwise, there are other vape shops in the area that are already surpassing RTV in the customer service area as well as their knowledge of their products. In my opinion, If RTV doesn't step up their game, they won't be playing anymore. read more
