There's a tiny little spot you can park right before the head of the trail but only enough for a few cars. I guess if you came and it was full you could park down the street. There is a pretty big lot there that usually has quite a few spots open. You'd have to walk a bit to the trail though. Great trail around Ponkapoag pond. My Fit bit says it was a little over 11,000 steps. Most trails are marked good. There are maps posted every so often and most have an arrow that point "you are here". I would suggest to bring a map although at the place where I started from the box holding the Maps was empty so I just took a picture of the one posted. Definitely bring bug spray! This place is loaded with bugs. I was pretty bitten up at the end of my walk. I stayed on the main trail but there were lots of small trails to go off on. I was pretty disappointed to see signage that said no bikes allowed on a lot of them though. That's a real bummer for me and my beloved mountain bike. Saw lots of beautiful birds and butterflies. Luckily I didn't run into any coyotes but just be aware that they are around. 3.5 stars.

I love the "boardwalk" - a long series of linked planks leading through the bog to the pond. So scenic and a unique off-trail walk. The trail is rocky and rolling in parts and flat in others, with a brief paved portion along the golf course. The trail also passes the YMCA camping sites and outdoors center, and is fairly well traveled in all seasons. Great place for running, dog walking and hiking.

It's got a lovely pond further from the highway down the path and my dog doesn't love water but she loved dipping herself in there to cool off. As others have said the trails are a nice nature getaway from the city along with behind right behind the office parks. There's a convenient parking lot that can get quite busy. There aren't any convenient trash cans or water fountains, other amenities on other walking trails. So if your dog goes you will need to be prepared to carry it. We did walk all the way back to an office park area and found one of those large business dumpsters that are quite a distance away so not the most convenient. That's unfortunate if a few more waste cans could reduce the amount of dog waste. Otherwise this is a lovely place to check out!

The easy, scenic trails that trace the pond attract families, joggers, fishers and dog walkers…read morealike. What motivated me was the large hunks of New England Puddingstone perfect for beginner to intermediate climbers and solid bouldering. I won't get into specific climbs, but the Boston Rocks book by the MIT Outing Club is a great reference. A practical tip though: many of the rocks are shaded by enormous hemlocks, and are often times a bit slick, so be sure to bring chalk. I'd also get there early, especially on the weekends, cuz it fills up fast and as there are no bolts to anchor from and a limited number of trees up top. You might want to play musical ropes with your climber cohorts. Great option for a quick excursion as it's accessible by the Green line (D) to Chestnut Hill.

I…read moreencountered a mountain biker and a few off-roader motorcyclists...all were very respectful though and weren't trying to run me off the trails...they always gestured for me to go first and waved friendly hellos. The trail seemed to be pretty well marked...just follow the yellow markers on the trees. It's about a 2 mile hike or slightly less. The terrain can be slippery if there's a lot of mud and if you are a bit klutzy like me, you need to watch out for tree roots/rocks, but w/ a good pair of hiking boots you should be good.

The trails are mostly packed sand with a good amount of leaf accumulation making it a bit slippery on the wet day we visited.

Now everything has been left, and everything is already overgrown. They need to finish it! Yet, it is a full volunteer committee, so they can work on it when they want. Who ever decided to make this a park, made a great decision though.... it's in a wonderful location (as nearby Norwood really doesn't have a large park like this). Yet they need to keep working on this or hire other people, because the paths already need work, and lots of shrubs are overgrowing. All in all, I enjoy this park and would give it 5 stars, yet won't be until they hire others or keep working on it and learn what "UPKEEP" means. I would suggest this park for others, yet for now (until the park is fixed), I would HIGHLY suggest Bird Park in Walpole.

If you do bit of research (unlike some only capable of spewing typical directionally challenged hippster blogger nonsense), you will see that it take 10 separate maps to cover all the trails in the system. You have large variety of trails. Make your pick. You got fields, woods, marshes, etc. I have lived in the area for a bit now and I am yet to walk every trail.

Lincoln Land Conservation Trust (LLCT) is located in Lincoln, MA only about 25 mins from downtown…read moreBoston. It is a couple of trails that go around the Sandy Pond water reservoir. There is a biking trail and several hiking/walking trails. This location is where the great Henry David Thoreau went when he wanted a peaceful retreat from the busy Boston life. The trails at LLCT are mostly well kept, but are also mostly poorly marked. The trails have changed from what most trail maps say due to changes in the watershed and the makeup of the land, and in a few spots we were unsure where to go. This isn't a huge problem though since the area is not particularly large, so I would be unlikely that you would get lost. One thing to make sure to bring is bug spray. The area is mostly wetlands and in the humid summer months there tends to be a plentiful amount of mosquitos. We forgot ours and paid the price the whole hike.
