In another town I'd just give this place 4* but in Brno it was 5* due to the lack of other options. You don't go into different rooms, there's just one bar and they change the lighting to signal the next dimension. There's a different menu for each dimension, which initially seemed like a ploy to get you to order more, but I think they've just missed some kind of detail somewhere that would better pull it all together. Regardless, it was memorable, the drinks were fun and unique, and our bartender was delightful. (If the owner is reading this, I don't recall his name, but he used to play hockey!;) We rang the doorbell and a peculiar fellow poked his head out...we went inside and he told us the story and offered to take our coats before we went up and into the bar. Interestingly enough, the name itself might be a bit confusing as I would not expect these signature dishes that were clearly pampered with every single ingredient they consist of. The play with cauliflower and other seasonal vegetables here is real, simply ask the staff for vegetarian (or vegan for that matter) recommendations and you will be in the best hands. By the way, their bread is very likely one of the freshest and tastiest pieces of bread you have ever tried, so make sure to get some of that with their delicious fresh butter! And if you enjoy a good cocktail, let the bartender surprise you after sharing the secret of your preferred liquor poison with them, you are sure to leave happy just like I did. Though I'm not sure if the owners and management are the same as…read morethose from the former Cafe Bar Holiday in Třebíč, it is clear to me that the high standard of food quality and dining experience is identical in this new location under the new name of Vinohrádek nad Babou. As a side note, the Cafe Bar Holiday website currently redirects visitors to the new Vinohrádek nad Babou website with nearly identical menu listings and pricing. The exterior and interior of the restaurant are beautiful, and the food is delicious. The casual atmosphere and wonderful service make this a relaxing place to leave the busy world behind and enjoy some great company over several traditional Czech meals. The pricing is quite reasonable and the menu options are vast. If you are just visiting Třebíč or new to the Czech Republic and looking for a great meal, I highly recommend the Czech classic of Svíčková na Smetaně s Karlovarským Knedlíkem a Brusinkami (Beef tenderloin in a creamy sauce served with slices of Karlovarský dumplings and cranberry sauce). Not only is this dish a national classic, but it is simply delicious and easily the best Svíčková na Smetaně I've had in a Czech restaurant, hands down. As of writing this review (March of 2018) the website-listed price for this generously-portioned meal is only 169Kč, or around $8.00 USD, which is a real bargain. This restaurant alone gives me reason to visit Třebíč every time I am traveling in Central Europe. This food and this restaurant really are that good.
